    Very good design. I've seen many others where the rails are on the base and they would receive all the dust and chips making them fail (ruin) in short time. Yours hace the rails protected and that's great. Well thought. Greetings from Paraguay.

    I have recreated this same jig. My angle grinder has a 12k rpm and I find it very frightening to use for wood. I am just worried, how safe is this?

    • @herucahyono9948
      @herucahyono9948 3 роки тому +1

      Hi Elouali, you can use Dimmer AC Motor Speed Controller to reduce the speed of your grinder

  • @sosis_anget
    @sosis_anget Рік тому

    I made exactly like that. I move switch into handle.. using push on variable speed switch from drill... much safer. But I have big terrible issue with precision. Need big calibration or even start from beginning 😩

    Acabo de ver este video y me causa mucha inseguridad el ángulo de la amoladora esta muy vertical y el disco al recorrer la madera lo hace en sentido contrario al uso que debe ejercer para cortar si estoy en lo correcto o no podria alguien responder para saber si conviene hacer estos inventos ... aclaro no resto ni quito méritos pero quiero estar seguro de hacerlo

      @@criticallook5162 No. That's not a guard. It's indicative of your lack of understanding of safety that you'd think that sufficient. Dangerous video.

    • @criticallook5162
      @criticallook5162 3 роки тому

      Polyester Mammoth
      The angle grinder is sold with that guard. The grinder is intended to be used freehand. The grinding wheel is more apt to break if the user tilts/rotates the blade during deep cuts.
      There is always going to be an element of danger no matter what method is used to perform a cut due to the cutting portion of the blade having to be exposed. It is far less likely to shred to pieces using a sturdy jig. Common sense dictates wearing a face shield and other protective gear.
      The video itself is *_not_* dangerous, and no harm will come your way by merely watching it. If you feel that the risk outweighs the benefits and it is too much for you to handle, then maybe this craft does not suit you; otherwise, build a guard that soothes your anal proclivity.

      The video IS dangerous as it encourages people to use tools incorrectly. You’re not very bright are you?
      I’m a health & safety officer by the way so I feel slightly more qualified to comment than a random melt on the internet.
      Buy a circular saw folks, wear goggles, take your time.

      @@criticallook5162 Listen, you're typing nonsense into your computer, trying to justify it, and trying to explain to a Health & Safety professional why he is wrong to point out the obvious H&S issues. You're a frivolous individual. This is a power tool being used incorrectly- indeed, in a manner that could easily lull the user into a false sense of (non existent) security, and is attached to a poorly built jig. You crack on and chop all of the fingers you like off (might make it less painful for other internet users if you did), but don't try to explain this gratuitous stupidity away.
