It's hard enough to pull a psa 10 gem mint card from a 2018 pack.... gem mint cards over a hundred years old from some of the most significant cards in history is completely mind blowing... you could never make me believe it if I'd didn't hit me right in the face.
It is a mafia business ,"provenance or proof" are the biggest scam in art market. If you are not famous or millionaire then you don't belong to the club..
What a great story. And just imagine all the amazing finds that have been thrown away by ignorant finders over the years. I'm glad these people had enopugh sense to do some homework. There's plenty more out there just waiting to be found and hopefully not get thrown out.
I had a red 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth in EX condition and traded it for a box of upper deck in 1989. I got it when my grandfather died and I was only nine years old when I got rid of it. It hurts. Sorry Pap.
ColYUSAF06 funny story 1 day I was walking to the bus stop heading to work but before I even step foot in the bus my supervisor called me and said work is slow do u Wanna come in my decision I said I'll just have the day off I walked to a vintage antiques store and came across a 1969 Jerry West basketball card and a will Chamberlain 1972 basketball card and a Kobe Bryant rookie card but ehhh any ways I got the cards and holyshit it was crazy

i don't like how PSA notes "black swamp find" on the label. or "dmitri young collection". PSA is suppose to be unbiased grading. yet they have labelling showing bias.
Man... if they only kept them until now... thanks Chris Sewall!!
8 years ago. Now they are all worth 8-50 times more now per card

If the box says Play Ball why are they considered to be Bowman and not Play Ball cards that were issued from '39 to '41?
Too exciting to even imagine, all card collectors dream of finding one rare card, in any condition, let alone high grade

I would have got them graded by PSA & kept them.
I remember hearing this story...wow I wonder what the price is today ten years later?!?!?
Probably 10 million now... 2022
Matt lauer got excited cause he thought it said tasteballs cards
same thing as hitting the lottery. Maybe even higher odds of all these cards being in this great shape than actually hitting the lottery.
We found a 1910 ty Cobb is that worth muck

I have to laugh...can you just imagine!?!? What a find! Amazing story and well put together.
I live in Toledo just east in Lucas county.
HA!
Looks like heritage was more excited for there piece of cake, im sure they charged that family a nice fat chunk
W.O.W.
Are they gonna divide up the money between 30 family members?
Hundred grand each ain’t bad. They should have sat on them for a few years and they would have doubled their money
Woooowhooo
I would have fainted for sure.....
For sure! That’s the stuff people dream about!

The purpose of this is typically to preserve provenance.
sgc does the same...whats the problem
Somebody has never graded cards before?!
