I cannot even begin to tell you how happy it makes me to see you here in South Africa. I've been subscribed to your channel for years and seeing my awesome city in your videos is just the cherry on top of the cake. Thanks for being the best UA-camr ever.👍
Muhammad Bhyat that's one of the most awesome things I've heard in a while; not having your mclaren f1 in a museum because you want to drive it! Exactly how it should be :D
Sooooo glad I got to meet you Sam! Thank you very much for the motivation regarding my UA-cam channel and for always making incredible content. Can't wait to see you again in SA ;D
This is so weird seeing you drive places I drive almost every day. Even weirder, I've lived here my whole life and you've already been to places I've never seen or heard, but I'm soo glad you're here because I get to see more of the car culture in my own city. And I'm definitely going to visit these places soon..
Tunes4Life 1 second ago Yeah,my mum once, got sent to work for a company,in cape town i think, which had one of its branch,in mauritius, anyways, her hotel was a 5 min walk to her work place, and her boss had made sure to get her a taxi to and back,as it was so dangerous, and told me,that in some places, you couldn't just have your arm with jewelry, chilling outside your car, specially at traffic lights,as you'd it it stolen there and then...
I underestimated Cape Town before watching your but, now I've got massive admiration for this place! Beautiful sceneries and beautiful cars, you can't go wrong with that can you?!
Great meeting you man. Definitely have to come back and tour the garden route as discussed! Looking forward to seeing you this side of the world again soon!
*Sam, the reason that Cape Town/South Africa is 'obsessed' with Cobra's, is because South Africa is where production of Superformance (A licensed manufacturer of continuation Shelby Cobra's, Shelby Daytona's and Ford GT40's, as well as a Corvette Gran Sport continuation) cars is based out of (Port Elizabeth to be specific). In terms of overall build, Superformance creates the most authentic and better quality car, and is a licensed maker/distributor of Shelby cars, unlike Backdraft Racing, who isn't allowed to use any Shelby naming or badging on their cars.* South Africa was also home to a very successful racing driver and Superformance development driver, Bob Olthoff. His son Dennis, is also quite the skilled driver, and operates the family Superformance dealership in North Carolina.*
It's said the the collection is the biggest private car collection in the Southern Hemisphere. What you see at the Museum is probably 30% of the total collection. A lot of the cars are driven as well, if you look at the cars, those that have license disks on the windows are road legal registered and driven from time to time
This vlog was like a David Attenborough video, but on exotic cars. Very soothing, informative and enjoyable to watch. More of these please where possible. Great job!
I was in the franshoek when i was in cape town few days ago and i saw this museum my favorite was the barn with the Ferraris Few days ago when i was there no delorion they change all the time they is a nsx over there but i was not there when i was
How hard can it be to go check out every single car (literally) for at least 20 seconds just so we can see everything !! Thanks for the content thou its great.
Hey Sam, if you like this kind of musea, you really MUST visit the Louwman Museum, a huge privately owned collection in The Hague, Netherlands. I really love your vids and podcastst, keep up the awesome work, don’t lose the passion!!
Sam, when you come to Australia you need to check out the Gosford classic car museum. It's pretty much a huge warehouse filled with old classic cars owned by 1 man
Great video. And what a place to look at cars. I think you should get a Alga GT Junior as a vintage car when you get that. Just can't go wrong with that.
Hey Sam... glad you name checked the Alfa's... I'm starting the build on my 1750 GTAm soon... stunning cars the 105 series, if you are ever at a loose end and in Scotland feel free to drop in for a Coffee & Chat ... mainly old alfa's here which you can see more of @alfascozia or alfascozia on facebook... keep the great video's coming... loving the content.
Franschoek Motor Museum is epic and is in deed a private collection - Not mentioned in the video is that the cars in the display halls are constantly rotated out since only about a third of the collection is ever on display at any given time....
South Africa looks amazing, I've never been but I always hear bad things about it, forgive me for my ignorance but i'd love to visit cape down one day (From Sydney, Australia)
You are my favorite car guy on UA-cam!!! Your channel is so much fun to watch as you react to the cars you feature would be the same way i would!!!! You are a Ferrari fan like myself, but appreciate all exotic cars even though they are not Ferraris!!!!
What you've seen there are about 3/5ths of this man's collection, his cars go on rotation every few months, so you see different cars each time you go.
Please link up with MrBenBrown!!!! I think you two making content together would be even more fire and i dont know it would be but it wont get worse thats forsure and i think the guy could really do with some cheering up and some fun time in some supercars!!! Keep up the killer work Sam!!! Major love from a fellow Briton watching religiously here in Canada spreading the word of the good mans work!!!
Hi Sam. Please can you grace us with your presence again with a South African supercar tour sometime, just an idea? The main cities are Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. Scuderia South Africa branches. I am a huge fan of yours.
Excellent video Sam! There was also a Mk1 MGB GT hiding at the back of _C&W,_ unless they moved it *:p* I haven't been down to the Franshoek Motor Museum in quite awhile, so I would have appreciated a little peek at the MGs there as well, but there have been so many in your recent videos that I'll forgive you 😉 Just one quick question though, was there a burgundy B GT there? (I am on the hunt for one) I am glad you are enjoying your time here and look forward to seeing what's next ✌️
The single owner has a lot more cars than those on show. They rotate the collection continuously year round. And yes there is a race track on the farm itself too.Johann Rupert is the owner of the wine farm and all the cars.
Vampirebear13 they are made here in South Africa, I live in durban and they are built here, they are one of my clients and most of their vehicles are exported to the USA. backdraftracing.co.za/
I wish I have a place like that with amazing cars and a cafe where I can spend my time instead of sitting at my computer looking at others having fun.. I can't wait to get my ass to the states and spend sometime doing what I am so passionate about!
Another EPIC video Sam!!! HUGE thumbs up. Thanks for paying some attention to that Roadrunner. When I saw it, I immediately thought "Sam's going to ignore that Plymouth completely". Glad I was wrong. Also thanks much for showing love for the Porsches. Here in the states, we're led to believe nowhere else is as car crazy as America is and the internet has shown those who believe that, are horribly misled. Also the color of that DB11 is perfect and I'm sure would meet with Tim's approval :-)
Was looking forward to this from the time you mentioned you were coming. Awesome coverage of cape town mate👌 PS there should be a white LaFerrari Aperta down there in the Cape too😉
I cannot even begin to tell you how happy it makes me to see you here in South Africa. I've been subscribed to your channel for years and seeing my awesome city in your videos is just the cherry on top of the cake. Thanks for being the best UA-camr ever.👍
I really agree and it would make my life so much cooler if I could see you and get some Merch b the exchange rate makes it so expensive nowadays.
Mclaren F1 is also part of the collection but the owner, yes singular, drives it around so he tends to keep it at home
Muhammad Bhyat that's one of the most awesome things I've heard in a while; not having your mclaren f1 in a museum because you want to drive it! Exactly how it should be :D
He sold it now. Has a Pagani and a Bugatti instead. His son also wrote off the F50.
So glad you are seeing how beautiful Cape Town is and how we really love our cars down here!
there's a laferrari aperta in cape Town gordons bay, dm the owner @selwynchatz , I'm pretty sure he'll let you see his collection
It makes me so happy to see our local areas getting featured. The world needs to see this side of South Africa harsh sunlight and all.
Geeking out 🤓
He is pretty cool guy, isn't he? Seems like you had bombs of fun :)
Sooooo glad I got to meet you Sam! Thank you very much for the motivation regarding my UA-cam channel and for always making incredible content. Can't wait to see you again in SA ;D

@@YTRulesFromNM If you're either a stupid tourist or flaunting your money in the wrong area maybe but 99% of people walk around perfectly fine
The roadrunner was doing 30 mph while parked up in the showroom.!!!!!
I underestimated Cape Town before watching your but, now I've got massive admiration for this place! Beautiful sceneries and beautiful cars, you can't go wrong with that can you?!

Make a trip to Port Elizabeth. Only about half a days drive from Cape Town. Car culture here is pretty epic as well.

Amazing to meet you today, Sam! Such an incredible guy :)
Huge love from SA! How did I miss the lil fan meet 🤦
Interesting fact. That F50 was crashed by the owner of the museums son and had to be rebuilt mostly
that there is one of my dream cars. There is just something about that db11 that makes me all warm and fuzzy. Great vid Sam!
Excellent video Sam!
There was also a Mk1 MGB GT hiding at the back of _C&W,_ unless they moved it *:p*

Backdrafts are actually made in South Africa
Backdrafts are actually built in Boynton Beach Florida. Superformance Cobra's are the ones from South Africa.
Vampirebear13 they are made here in South Africa, I live in durban and they are built here, they are one of my clients and most of their vehicles are exported to the USA. backdraftracing.co.za/
Nash Espirítu you are correct, made here in durban
Amazing video Sam! Best one yet!
For some reason I was not expecting Cape Town to be so awesome.
That spec on the DB11😍
I wish I have a place like that with amazing cars and a cafe where I can spend my time instead of sitting at my computer looking at others having fun.. I can't wait to get my ass to the states and spend sometime doing what I am so passionate about!

The covette
Finally someone shows the wealthier parts of SA. Come to Johannesburg next time Sam
Another EPIC video Sam!!! HUGE thumbs up. Thanks for paying some attention to that Roadrunner. When I saw it, I immediately thought "Sam's going to ignore that Plymouth completely". Glad I was wrong. Definitely come to durban!
Sam: would you prefer DB11 V8 or the manual N430 edition Vantage that you drove yesterday?
Think he'd prefer the V8,as he said the N430 was showing its age, trying to follow the 570s...
You should try an Alfa Giulia (GTV 2000 or a similar one), seems like the perfect classic car for you!
Was looking forward to this from the time you mentioned you were coming. Awesome coverage of cape town mate👌 PS there should be a white LaFerrari Aperta down there in the Cape too😉
Bloody stunning collections right there Sam 0.o
Thanks for sharing these :D
Sam is loving cape town I see ;)
Are you going to monaco this year with JWW sol and shmee maybe? Roadtrip vids with you guys are extremely entertaining to watch.
Its a shame the 599 fiorano wasn’t there. When I visited it sat there looking gorgeous!

Wonderful content such a pleasure to watch keep it up
I think that merc replica was on season 1 of the Grand Tour when they were in South Africa
We can bring lhd cars in but there's no point. You know there are a few 918 spyders in cpt and 1 that im awere of in Johannesburg
Oratile Lekota and the LaFerrari Aperta
SA Supercar Scenery the white one right
Oratile Lekota there's 9 in the country...3 weissach editions too, with Martini livery
SA Supercar Scenery both LaFerrari's im SA are owned by the same oak, he has a blue TDF too
Ndumiso Machika so this oak owns the one that was going to be crushed and the aperta
