    Here it is, the Onewheel GT-S uphill torque test VS Floatwheel ADV Pro, Fugineers SuperFlux, GT and Pint-X! The results may shock you..
    This is the most comprehensive hill test I've done. Includes smooth and rutty hills ranging from 17°-32° slopes, standing vs running start, 4 ride modes and 4 different riders ranging from 80-175lbs.
    This is not a representation of the GT-S's speed performance, only uphill torque
    The average slope of the chill hill is 17°/30.6% grade, beast hill is 26°/50% grade, steepest part is 32°/62.5%
    Highlights:
    00:00 intro
    1:03 OG chill hill test
    3:19 preface - I'm rooting for the GT-S!
    4:51 GT-S round 1
    5:47 theory why GT-S lacks power
    6:39 GT round 1
    8:11 Floatwheel round 1

    Thank you Max. That was a very entertaining video. It must be mentioned here for people who haven't seen the previous videos that the Superflux was limited to 150A (I think) but it can actually handle way more than that, just like you showed in your first video, it can bomb that hill like its nobody's business. 2nd point is that the Superflux has the smallest battery out of the 3! A good comparison would be with a 20S 84V battery powering the Superflux.
    And lastly, the Superflux is built to be the fastest motor out of the box compared to all other wheels, so to gain that extra speed, you have to lose some torque. Interesting video nonetheless and an amazing service to the community ❤

      I was about to say something very similar. Haven’t tried the floatwheel yet but the SuperFlux would eat that hill very easily even at 75.6v (at least that’s my experience). Specially if you use it to its full potential. Some friends bought the ADV Pro, after trying it out I’ll have a real opinion but so far SuperFlux is the way to go on so many levels. Without trying the ADV I would say FloatWheel wins on the easy assembling but performance wise the SuperFlux exceeded all my expectations. Anyway, thank you very much for what you do for the community 🙏🏼

      This sums up what I've been feeling for the last 6 months. Some guys ride the board with finesse and style and linear speed. Some guys want to break about the top speed. They hit on concrete. And some guys want to just see what board can strictly climb up at the steep Hill. I am more in the group of racing and maintaining speed and handling. So I'm not really hip 2 making a board. Just do all the work. that being said, it seems to me. The float wheel may not hang with the smooth linear flow of a good rider and gt or g.t.s.... I would like to see really good riders on all of these boards. Riding the way hardcore trail riders ride not just setting goals for steepest hills.

      I promise you I could get up this hill in one shaping without adjusting it (my choice would be apex). If you want to cover the cost of gas for me to drive to San Jose from Chico, I’ll do it. If I can’t do it I’ll give you $20.

    That was to be expected to be honest. A dude on IG showed a nose dive at 55 kph (35mph). With a vesc and an 80V battery you can already reach that, which means that FM did exactly the same as before, namely restricting the current output of the battery through the BMS. It was 30A before, now it's a bit higher but current and torque being linear, it shows clear limitation when climbing where torque is needed.
    It's a win/win for FM. They can brag through marketing that they have a powerful board because of 113V, getting also a fast board at low battery level, and having a better cost control, since the battery has less cells now with a 1P configuration, but as soon as you scratch the varnish, you see the ugly stuff.
    It's crazy to think that a simple XR conversion to Vesc, with a 19S2P performs better than this board.

    So what I saw on a float life video is that the GT-S has a foot pad delay feature that if you don't use it the GT-S just cuts right out on any drop. So it could be that.
    So another reason for that might be that at low speeds there is less back EMF so current draw will be much higher, and with the GT-S being a 1p battery its internal resistance might drop the voltage at those high current draws leaving you with less power to the motor then the GT. On launch it doesn't matter as much because motor speeds ramp up quickly reducing current draw before bat chemistry can cause a problem.

    Are you running the same psi in all board? I am disappointed at the gts, base on the battery configuration it should have done little better. Gts can’t handle heavy amp requirements when going uphill and some bumps, it’s good for smooth trail. I think I would want to ride 12s3p compare to 27s1p, much safer!

      @FloatinCanada 7 місяців тому

      @anthonym7281 I disagree, the gt and gts lost their power, it wasn't nose clearance. Now if they made it up higher to the steeper part then it might be a factor but they didn't have the power to make it that far.
      Edit: well actually on most attempts it was nose clearance, that's why they made it further in 3degree nose up it seems.

    • @MaxxSend
      @MaxxSend  7 місяців тому

      clearance wasn't the issue, it was the gts nose was dipping on the bumps and also the motor stalling out. Regardless we tried to simulate ATR by using elevated mode and also lifting the nose 3 degrees to help with clearance - elevated did no better, +3 only helped with maxxing out aggression and dynamic responsiveness in custom and even then the power still gave out just a few feet higher. It comes down to the amps are being limited by the controller. Also, who wants to rip trails with +3 nose and elevated? 🤣"True king of torque" isn't relevant if you can't even ride the damn thing for all purposes🤷‍♂

Voltage is pressure, you need a greater pressure electrically in the same way you need it mechanically, to easier overcome a resistance or increase leverage to overcome traction co efficient ( theres a bunch of math to dtermine this also ) . AMPS are the flow of electrons through a conductor, this 8s where speed comes from.. volts are only going to spin and move a greater weight to a point., which is why you can ture spin and drift the gts at speed easy. Amps and windings are where youre getting speed and torque from. :)

      @@brodyport6395 It’s been performing as expected I just knew this was going to be an issue with tire size 😪 Good thing is most people aren’t buying these things to go to the steepest inclines they can find and ride up them. They are buying these things for the experience, the flow state 🤩I’ve heard more than enough Vesc users, and the reaction from the masses, to make me happy. In fact, I’ve been surprised just how many people of the Vesc community have rolled over for this board.. it’s almost suspicious 🤔

      I'm sorry, but it is exactly the opposite:
      Smaller tire = more torque, better acceleration (at the expense of top speed)

      @@Tom_FXT So you’re telling me that if I put a V8 truck on skateboard wheels I’ll be able to climb better and get over more difficult terrain than say a regular V6 truck? Obviously tire size changes everything….

    This is a good video if you like fake news because I have both boards and I know that the GTS climbs a lot better and faster than the GT. I’m glad I take videos like this with the green of salt when it’s biased and comes from people that just love foot Will and they are in the FFM. 😂

      Go ride the hill then. Sure GTS might have marginally more than the GT but they both clearly aren’t on the same level as the other offerings
