You have to ask yourself, Why would either of them release intimate personal information about their relationship to the media? They could just as easily tell the world, "we have decided that our futures don't lie in the same direction so we have decided to formally end our legal relationship and pursue other activities that make us both happy." That's all they had to say, instead of hanging out their dirty laundry for all of us to gossip about. So that begs the question, "why did they make this kind of nonsense public? What benefit would it be to either of them?"

Ive been saying that for about 5 years now. And I wouldnt be a bit surprised to find that Bayer is also a huge investor in that same group. Bayer bought out Monsanto for a reason. Monsanto all but bankrupted India and other 3rd world country's small land owner/farmer's, quite literally, killing generations of family farms and families, leaving them penniless with nowhere to go and nowhere to turn for help after 4 or 5 years. Many families had to leave the land they had farmed for hundreds of years turning over their land to, you guessed it, Monsanto. So If my instincts are right, Bayer and Bill now own an awful lot of farm land in the world. Which of course means that they and they alone are in full control of what will be grown AND, more importantly, who will get it. And you gotta know, they wont be going hungry

There’s plenty of rich people to admire. Many more than the inadmirable. They just aren’t as visible for two reasons. You can’t be Microsoft and hide for example. And the ‘evil’ side of rich likes to draw attention to themselves (if they weren’t self-centered they probably wouldn’t be evil).
I think there’s a lot more- many more- wannabe rich in the upper-middle income group that are total jerks. At my ‘class’ and status I’ve met way too many full-on jerks in the bmw and mercedes owner class. I’ve met way less in the super-rich class but I’ve so often been totally shocked to learn of their wealth when you can’t tell from their cars, recreation, families, and habits. And just being decent humans.

Are you kidding? The land is a brilliant tax write off and Lord only knows what he’s going to plant let alone leaked into the soil.
Owning a lot of land requires property management and has a lot of costs and taxes to go with it. I wouldn't call this ownership a tax write-off. That has to cost hundreds of millions in upkeep, dealing with local governments, having a large entourage of lawyers and financial managers, etc. I don't think the Gates are trying to get away with anything.
No offense but when it comes to their taxes and their land management capabilities, I think the both of you really only know Jack and Shit, and Jack already spit town.

I get that some people can't make marriage work. In my 25 years of marriage I often wondered if I/we could make it work. Looking back and looking forward, I'm grateful for what we've accomplished together and am eagerly looking forward to what the future might hold, knowing good and well either one or both of us can screw things up. In the end it's up to us as individuals. It's not really so cut and dry as some make it out to be.
