Great stuff! I remember those days; instead of everyone drooling over new graphics cards like now, everyone went bonkers for the latest Soundblaster card! The joystick adapter for the gamepad was a neat find too. Back then It was probably more for the joystick crowd, but they still make adapters like that for modern controllers to help people with low mobility who still love to game!
This is the same Tandy model I had growing up. I miss this computer so much. Been thinking about saving up some money so I can buy one from someone. So many great memories I have with this computer. Thanks for the video.
Even though Tandy was amazing in its day, I honestly cannot believe how far we have come in technology- sadly this was my era. I’m old- I appreciate all the reminders 😂- love watching these! Thanks josh!
Yep, brings back memories. Before there was plug and play, you had plug and pray and before that the manual jumpers setting for which IRQ you wanted to use. It used to be hard to build a computer with a lot of I/O cards, but as usual it made me a better technician.
I have very similar setup to yours, except with the extra 128K. Robots will work in Tandy 640x200 and Adlib sound but only if I boot clean msdos 6.22 (no TSRs), even setting FILES=20 in config.sys (DOS Navigator's requirement) would prevent the game from running
Interesting! Thanks for sharing! Luckily, the chips to do the upgrade were pretty cheap, and once I found the right chips (4464’s), it was easy. Now, I have about 591K free and can run everything thanks to the extra video RAM.
Great stuff!

That's so true! You were the cool kid on the block back then if you had a sound blaster and not an expensive graphics card. LOL
Wow, that’s amazing how much gaming technology has changed over the years lol 😂 Thanks for another great video! 💖
Thanks, Josh. Love seeing the older computers from my childhood 😁
For sure! More to come!

It’s such a fun little machine! Surprisingly capable for its time! I hope you get one! There are a couple nice ones on eBay right now.

Tech talk with Josh...I can only ninja watch. .
I appreciate it!
there's 8086-compatible 3C509B drivers for 8-bit ISA systems that are floating around, it's in a github page somewhere. that might help you a bit.
Thanks! I’ll have to check that out!
Josh...you da man! 😀
Aww thanks!
This brought back so many gaming memories! Was cool to see how the upgrades worked on retro PCs! I always learn something from watching these vlogs!
