Ancient Sumerian astronomers were able to accurately record the comet burst that caused the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah to June 30th 3123 BC with star dating computers, and later with polar ice cores which dated the debris from that time. So you can plot the movement of the heavens on a daily basis, but you can't do it just by eye, as the differences are slower than a sniper.
@@powerdude_dk To be fair Dan didn't show proof they have changed. He showed what it might look like in the future. A flat earther could just show the same picture and say that's what their model shows the constellation to look like in 40,000 years and say they also showed proof.

I normally bang my head hard into a table surface or the like. Pull you shoulders up, lean back with along the mid center back and the upper back muscles going into the neck area, now lunge with an accelerating motion with all your upper body, curving towards the table, when reaching a fair close distance to the surface, use your neck muscles to force your head forward like when you are making a hard deep cut hit. Keep the tension in your neck and back muscles, otherwise you might damage your neck section and you will not get a clean hit.
If it is a really bad FE argument(..!!) aim for something sharp on the table, like one of those office equipment thingies you use to stick receipts on...

@@hughjanus2781 They didn’t though. In fact in Job, it references a “circular horizon at the boundary of light and darkness.” Mostly it’s ambiguous of earths shape. It’s not a science book and never really has been. However it does tie in to some historical events.

@@PayasYouListen if the earth were flat radar would have effectively unlimited range over the oceans and be usable from sea level and up. Any airstrike would've been detected coming as soon as the plane took off.

In sniper school we were taught how to adjust for the curvature of the earth.
I need to change this comment it didn't come out right. Back then we didn't have anything that would shoot that far but it was explained to us. Today a sniper has made a shot 1 1/2 miles. I think maybe this would affect his shot.

Time to blow his mind. Ask him to take a good telephoto picture of a full moon at moonrise from where he is, then compare moon rise photos from other placed in the world and explain the differences. If you orient all the moon rise photos so the moon features all align, the land does not. If you align all the level flat horizon photos, the moon rotates depending on latitude. Have him explain that on a flat land. Let's see no math theory, repeatable, hmm. Mind blown. Best if you can get photos take on the same day at the exact same time, from Australia and Japan, England, and the USA. That will never happen.

From his approximate 1ºW 51ºN latitude the orientation of the Moon and Venus was perpendicular to the horizon. At my location 82ºW 27ºN the moon appeared to be about the same distance from Venus but parallel to the horizon and to the south of it. According to Mr Sensible’s time stamp my observation was about six hours later.
But his animation of "Earth rotates, orbits Sun, hurls through space, ..." was different from the usual "Flat Earth stock footage", wasn't it?
I really get a kick out of Flat Earthers who use parts of science to debunk the science they don't believe... It's kind of like saying, I believe all the science that backs my claim but all the science that debunks it, is fake... lol

I’m just wondering, if you are on the bottom hemisphere sailing or say, driving in Australia and you look “up” to the night sky, would you be able to see The North Star or would it be blocked by the earth “underneath” (or would it be above?) you..?? Wouldn’t you see completely different stars than someone on top of the globe?

Scale, mathematics, engineering; all this and more are not understood by flat earthers. And I should clarify my statement by saying that I do not mean those who are willing to listen, think, and learn (Example: SeekTruth SpeakTruth). One of the organisers of a UK flat Earth convention actually said "we have members coming from all around the globe" when being interviewed by local TV (they will interview anyone!). I can't for the life of me remember the area (probably midlands, around Birmingham) but the clip made it onto a comedy panel show.

That reminds me of my cousin...He was my roommate while we went to college...he would smoke weed every night and then start to explain to me the "truth" about everything. Man, never in my life have I heard so much weird shit like in those few years with him. That was time before internet was big thing, before google...so he used to read some obscure magazines and books. He explained to me that every part of atom, proton, electron and neutron, has their counterpart in people, like electron people are demons, have blue eyes and no soul, they are cold and cruel and highly inteligent, proton people are devils, blacks and arabs, they don't have intelligence, just instinct and they are aggresive, and then there are neutron people, perfectly balanced, perfect human beings, but very rare, in fact only people born in his home town are like that. Also, all history is fake, and it has been planned by free masons from stone age. Even then, they planned everything, from Egyptian pyramids to WW2, thousands of years ahead. Me and him are both Slavs, living in Slavic country, but somehow he figured that we are celts, and would not stop telling anyone "I'm not from here, I'm not like you, I'm proud celtic warrior". He was also extremely paranoid, always wispering and writing those crazy ideas in notebooks, and hiding them because he thought masons are watching him and will kill him if he reveals too much. He had piles of notebooks in his room, 30 years of writing insane shit, and sometimes I would persuade him to show me some of it...it was totally crazy, with drawings and diagrams and everything. I wish i had those notebooks, I think I could write a good sci fi novel based on those ideas. And when I tried arguing with him, and present him with some arguments, he would just say, no that's a lie, they are all masons, historians, archeologists, everyone is in on it. And he knows everything because holy spirit enabled him to get the knowledge. He would get really angry and aggressive if I tried to explain anything to him, and he would call me a demon.
They seem more interested in "debunking" a heliocentric model, than providing actual empirical evidence. Earth is flat? Then show it, not just talk about it.

The “arguments” are so well rehearsed now, I think we can all recite them in our sleep, along with the evidence to refute them.
I’m more interested in trying to work out what type of flat earther they are, and I’m putting them into categories:
Type 1: Religious flat earther - sees the flat earth as essential to their theistic belief, e.g. certain creationists. You’ll never convince them otherwise because: it would compromise their guaranteed passage to eternal life.
Type 2: Conspiracy Theorist - 2 types:
Type 2a) Conspiracy Narcissist - believes there is an international cabal hiding the truth from them personally. You’ll never convince them otherwise because: You’re really one of THEM!
Type 2b) Conspiracy ignoramus - believes themselves to have superior intellect, but finds real science hard, therefore - science is wrong! You’ll never convince them otherwise because - they’d have to admit to having the intellect of the average daffodil
Type 3: Charlatan. You’ll never convince them otherwise because: they already don’t believe, but it’s an easy shortcut to online ad revenue.
I’m thinking WokeTown is either Type 1 (accusing science of being a religion is a dead giveaway) or Type 2b) (has picked up a smattering of “science” from bad UA-cam videos that he trots out with great personal pride).
@simon corbett Thanks for your comments. I did originally have a single Type 2, and I agree with you, there’s not really a difference, more of emphasis. The type 2a) is focused on how their special knowledge protects them from their paranoid fears of hidden powers, and their goal is to rescue the ‘sheeple’. Type 2b) is much more about parading their ‘superior’ intellect, the likes of Nathan Oakley leaping to mind, where the goal is more undeserved self-aggrandisement. Since I think someone should be doing this, and I've got some time, I'm going to be addressing every question in your video. Many of your points contain out of context, misleading, and sometimes altogether false information. I hope this can cause you and other flat-earthers who believe the Earth is not a globe to reconsider their beliefs, if it is true that you genuinely believe in it.

With that said, let's begin.
1. In your introduction, you said, "they are banking on you not questioning this. They're hoping to their God with a lowercase g that you do not look into this because they know if you do, you're going to have some major questions that..."
Ok so first of all, who are you referring to as they? Scientists? The government? I find it really hard to believe a category so large, with millions of people, could keep a secret this large. Also, your remark, "their God with a lowercase g" was very offensive and biased. There are many scientists who are also Christian or of other religions.
2. Why are we not able to see changes in the sky every year? Because of scale. Just because our system is moving at a seemingly fast pace in your mind, does not mean it is moving fast at the galactic and interstellar scale. If you do the math, the solar system is moving at about 500,000 mph, so it moves about 4.4 billion miles in a year. The nearest star system is Alpha Centauri, which is about 4.3 lightyears away, or 25 quadrillion miles away. 4.4 billion divided by 25 quadrillion is 1.76e-7, or 0.000000176. So we barely move in comparison to the distance between us and any star. And what's more, all the stars in our sky ALSO rotate around the galaxy in the same direction we do, since we are in a spiral galaxy. This means we are rotating more or less in congruence with each other, so we shouldn't see differences in our night sky each year at all.
Side note: You also mentioned the speed of the Earth's spin and its revolution as well as the speed of the universe's expansion, even though none of these relate to how stars would change in our sky every year. The Earth's spin brings us back to the same position every day and the Earth's rotation brings us back to the same position in the solar system every year. The position of stars in the Milky Way is not at all affected by the expansion of the universe, since the Milky Way moves as a whole. It seems to me you mentioned these just to mislead your viewers into thinking you knew what you were talking about and to fuddle the minds of your viewers into unconsciously increasing the only speed that actually matters to your point, tricking them into thinking the Earth is moving much faster than it actually is relative to the stars.
3. "Why does Elon Musk say, 'you can tell it's real because it looks so fake'"
You can't just use a comment that was so obviously supposed to be a witty line from a celebrity who does not support flat-earth theories to support your claims. The fact that you tried to do so shows that you are attempting to be misleading using out of context quotes and information.
4. Photos of Earth
I cannot comment on the specific images and footages that you showed in the video because you did not provide any names or links, and there's no way if I or any of the audience can know if you got them from reliable sources or if the information you gave about them is actually true. However, I can give multiple points on why pictures of Earth can look unnatural.
Depending on what angle and from what position a photo is taken, the features of the photo can look distorted (think of how when you take a selfie that is really close to your face, you nose is much bigger than the perimeter of your face). Images are also altered because "raw" images are usually black and white, with little visible detail. The cameras used to take the photo use different light spectrums that are not visible to us and so convert them to visible light colors. Because many photos of Earth are taken too close too its surface, oftentimes an image is created by stitching together photos, much like how a panorama is taken. NASA never tried to hide this, in fact it's all explained in their website.
There are plenty of COMMERCIAL satellites that have taken pictures of Earth that show its curvature, do you really think ALL of them are lying too? Keep in mind they don't have affiliations with any governments.

While I can understand why people are skeptical about images of outer space and Earth, since only experts can actually know the process of creating and taking them, you just have to trust that they are real. Unfortunately, the only way you can be ABSOLUTELY sure of this is to be an astronaut or astrophysicist yourself. Luckily, those exact same people are in fact regular citizens like us, living in society and doing the things you do. In the same way, the only way I can ABSOLUTELY be certain that coronavirus actually exists is if I contract it, after all, the government could be completely faking it right? However, since there are experts and news reports from trustworthy sources that say it exists, I also believe it exists.
5. The photos you show to have "flat horizons" only APPEAR to be flat. In reality if you put a straight line in the images or look very closely, you will realize they are slightly curved. 6. Kansas and other places on the Earth are "flat" in the sense that they are smooth, with minimal bumps. In the studies that proved that Kansas was flatter than a pancake, they calculated how smooth the average pancake was (i.e. how bumpy it was) and compared it to the variety of altitudes (mountains, valleys) present in Kansas. So when it is said that Kansas is flatter than a pancake, the meaning is that Kansas is smoother and has less bumps than a pancake relative to scale. This saying does not mean that Kansas does not have curvature. By the way, parts of a sphere do not have "bulges". If you zoom in infinitely on the perimeter of a circle, you will see lines that approach absolute straightness, but they can never actually be completely straight (think of how 0.999... approaches one but at the same time can never reach it). Because of this, a circle is made up of infinite, infinitesimally small straight lines. Similarly, a spheroid is made up of tiny, near-flat segments. So to answer your question, "How many pieces of flat land does it take to make a ball?" Many, very many, but they do still make a ball when you add them all together.

7. "Why when we look at the stars in December, do we see the same stars that we see in June?"
You see many stars all year round because our field of view (or celestial sphere) is very wide. We can see stars until they go below the horizon. Because stars are very far away they are able to stay above the horizon much easier than the objects in our solar system can. This means that even half a year apart from each other, at times when the directions we face are similar (i.e. If you live in New York, during a morning in June and a December evening you would be facing in similar directions) you are able to the same stars (For example Ursa major and minor if you live in the Northern Hemisphere). This is why even though you can see certain star all year, you will see them at different times of the night.

Pretty sure he was actually saying if the sun ‘barely looks bigger than the stars’ from the pov of saturn, then the stars should make enough light that everything is illuminated on all sides instead of being dark, so we would see the back lit as brightly as the side facing the sun.
Everything in the solar system is lit by all the stars, it’s only a matter of sensitivity of equipment to detect light and the fact the sun is much brighter because it’s close that the opposite sides seem dark. But he’s wrong that the sun’s in-perspective size is anything close to stars when viewed from saturn. The photo showed has a very obviously large sun compared with specks of stars (some of which are actually galaxies/clouds lit by multiple stars to even be seen that far away). The lens, aperture, exposure, and angle also makes a difference for photographic perspective, none of which seems to be considered. There was another vod where someone was trying to prove the moon landing was faked and had secondary light sources from people in the shadow of the lander being visible, even though the moon surface is quite clearly providing indirect reflected lighting.
Not in the daylight and I think that is what he was trying to get people to understand.

All photographs ever shown to us iare composites, that is admitted! They are buildt up section for section, and in many "photographs" the same clouds and cloudsystems are pasted in several different places , I guess they got lazy, maybe it was to easy to trick the world! And even the famous picture taken from the moon of the earth rising up over the moons horizon have a big problem to it, the earth is the size of the moon seen from the earth, wrong size, the earth is larger than the moon and would have appeared bigger on that photoi if it was real. I do not live on a mountain, just a hill...the next town east is 7.5 miles away and should be 32 to 42 feet below the horizon...Its distance above sea level is about the same as this town. The math? is x miles squared multiplied by 8 inches...so (1mile x 1) x8 inches. Thats worked out geometrically, I can also do so with trigonometry...I am very proficient in Science and math.

Consider that every picture we get from NASA the earth is a perfect round globe, yet the same scientist will tell you its not, so where are those pictures? I'm not well educated and I'm still not a absolute moron, I know that the earth is a globe. I don't know what goes wrong in a persons life to make it where they can not connect the dots between two and two and figure out that the earth is a globe.
To Pedro that commented above, of course the earth looks like a perfect globe from so far away. Like the people above said, the difference of the width, length, and height of the globe is so insignificant compared to the scale of the earth. So when looking at the earth from space it's going to be practically impossible to notice the imperfections.
Side note: There are people that go from Flat Earther to to Globe Earther, and respect to them, I can understand the becoming a Flat Earther, there are just so many Flat Earth videos out there that warp the truth and make you think the Earth is flat.

I'm seeing a lot of dishonesty with Covid, they are all about total cases reported, but never report on the amount of people fully recovered and walking around with the rest of us, it's all about pumping fear porn more than reporting true numbers. It's like saying 1 million people have died of a disease in 10 years and not reporting on the actual number of people affected at this current time. Last year in Australia the Government was warning of a 'Killer Flu', yes it killed many people (100 over 3 states), but they didn't shut the country down for months. we currently have around 30 Covid deaths and apparently the sky is falling in to the point where we have Martial Law Lite. And the majority of deaths are weak, terminally ill type of people where the Covid was like the last nail in their coffin. And if someone is riddled with cancer with a few months to live and the Covid finished them off, they are saying Covid was the cause of death and not the cancer. It's dishonesty of the highest order and complete bullshit. I truly believe the Covid fear pumping is a distraction from what is really going on in the financial and currency markets.

If I’m told that a a little isolation will help stop the spread of something that may kill people, I’ll give it a go. If something I’m doing reduces the risk to someone else I don’t mind trying. Obviously I don’t really fully understand the financial implications behind all the reduced working hours etc because I’m by no means an economist.
I do agree, however, that there is a lot of scare mongers out there that are making this seem worse than it is. I can also see why they may want to do that sort of thing. There are a lot of people here that aren’t taking this seriously at all. Perhaps scaring them into having consideration for others is part of the plan.

25. The Sun does NOT shrink as it sets, neither does it do so theoretically. A sun setting on a clear day with minimal humidity will NOT shrink as it goes down. The lights in a hallway only appear to go down because they are getting farther away, the Sun does not do this. Atmospheric magnification could NOT make the lights appear to grow as they approached the horizon. Atmospheric magnification would only increase the size of ALL the lights, and the lights would still shrink as they approached the horizon.

If gravity is not the force that causes downward movement what is? And why is the Sun and Moon not affected by this force then?

Gravity is very provable just by looking at our observations. One experiment, the Cavendish Experiment proved gravity by ascertaining the gravitational constant.
No matter what you think about gravity, you cannot deny there IS a force that causes things to move downwards. Yet you never mention such force once.
28. We detected gravitational waves from two black holes 1.3 billion light years away because of their mass. Both black holes were about 29 and 36 times the mass of the sun. Because gravitational waves increase exponentially as mass increases, we were able to detect these.

So what you’re proposing is that the 72 countries that have space agencies, the tens of thousands of professionals who work for those space agencies, the thousands of government officials of those countries, the education officials for those countries, and the hundreds of years of history that humans have been learning about space are all lying about the Earth being round and about space, a fact that doesn’t even significantly affect any of our lives? Just so a few people could feel more powerful, like a god? Not to mention that some of those people are religious or Christian? Hmmmm, who should I believe, thousands of professionals that have studied the sciences for years, or a person who has no background in science? This is such a difficult choice.
Honestly, it’s amazing how dysfunctional your thought process is. If I had a brain like yours, I would begin to doubt that my body was my own, or that my family is human, or even think that reality is just a simulation. I could probably find a lot more convincing evidence for those theories, too.
If the government and professional experts ARE really lying to us, then what can we really believe? If we can’t believe our own democratic government full of people we vote for, the education system we grow up in, and our fellow citizens that we walk past everyday, what can we be sure of? We can’t be sure of the nutrition labels on our food, that anything we see in the news is real, that anything you read in a book or see in a documentary is real. If that’s true, then civilization is already over. Why do flat Earthers question Earth’s shape when they can use the same flawed, twisted logic to doubt literally any other thing in the universe?
Conclusion:
I really do hope that anyone who read this comment and actually believes in a flat Earth would seriously rethink their position. Flat Earth isn’t rejected because the government wants to hide a lie, flat Earth is rejected because it is OBJECTIVELY less provable and scientifically correct, and anyone could learn this if they only spent a few hours researching from experts and reliable sources. And if you say, “those aren’t reliable”, then what IS reliable, some random youtuber’s video which includes false and misleading information? Look at the evidence yourself, spend some time to research it, and if you still believe in a flat Earth, well then I can’t help you, and likely no one can.
