on start up alan depress clutch ,it helps as gearbox is then disengaged and only needs to turn engine, all helps to prolong life of van and easier starting ,once in the habit it'll be automatic, you were in need of service and right time to get done ,remember for next year dependant on milage if high milage every 6 months, especially oil with the older used vans cheers sam
Glad to see you have your van running well after the service Taff. I'm a little concerned that you have bbq sauce with pork pies when they should be served with hp sauce 😂 I think an electric blanket would be a great addition for the van, they hardly use any power and you could have it plugged into the power station overnight? Set it to low and it'll be a game changer for you. Stay safe with all this random weather and potential floods.
A service can make a big difference , I bought a Fiat 500 that had literally been sat in a field for months , It struggled to start but after a good oil coolant and filter change it starts first time even in that freezing weather we had last week lol Sadly still only 65bhp so no power haha
Hi Taff glad your van is going well. I got my wee white combo under sealed including the sills so it will keep the rust at bay. In the new year I’m going to get a solar panel on the roof so I’ll have renewable power and will be able to go away for longer periods. X
I also had this last year with my old Fiat Ducato L1H1 from 2002, Every time the engine reached 2000 rpm the engine stalled ''Which is life-threatening if you are on the road with it'' (I thought I had refueled with bad fuel oil, I once had that in the past with another car, so driving empty and refueling was the message) the engine failure light also lit up red! It also got worse and worse, until it started stalling at 1500 rpm, (Undriveable) Then I took it to the garage, where after 3 months they still had not found the fault!? ''They were looking for it in the electronics ???'' So I took it back home unrepaired, and put the electronics back together myself. And someone said to me it seems as if your car is not getting enough fuel or air, and then I realized What is choking him? I asked another garage owner for some information, and on advice I bought and installed a new air filter and diesel filter. The problem was solved immediately, and I have never had any problems since. So the new garage owner now has a new customer, and the previous one has lost one, because I paid him to do the maintenance every year, he also charged me every year but apparently never did, I also showed the old air filter to the store and asked how long ago it was last replaced according to them? Answered what they estimated never, the original one from the factory!!!??? and this after 22 years & 280,000 km on the counter This is how some service providers can destroy your equipment through negligence ua-cam.com/video/AbNtySqcoqU/v-deo.html

Great video taff, gets my oil and filters done every 5000 miles, bit over the top but for the sake of 100 quid and my son doing it it's worth it.
