Gorgeous! Black Base Pearl Cell Dutch Pour | Abstract Acrylic Pouring Fluid Art Tutorial w/ Recipes
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 жов 2024
- Hello Everyone! Today I will be doing a pearl cell Dutch pour with a black base. This is a technique that I have been loving for sometime now and am always trying different combos and paints for different reactions. In this tutorial I speak extensively about the recipe I use and the reason for all the ingredients and why I won't change to a different recipe (yet!). I am happy to share this with you because I learn valuable lessons along the way that I think you all will benefit from. This is unique because typically metallic paints do NOT work well as a pour over color BUT with Modern Masters Metallics it's possible. 🤪
EXCITING NEWS!! This is a technique I will be teaching at the Fluid Art Experience in Seattle, WA April 27-29, 2023. Tickets are on sale NOW at:
class info and tickets available now!

Materials I used in this demonstration:
15”x30" Gallery Wrapped Level 3 Canvas (ARTIST LOFT)
Artist Loft Flow Black
Modern Masters: Pale Gold & Flash Gold Mixed; Sapphire
Rustoleum Metallics: Champaign
This Little Piggy Pigments (TLP): Ballgown
Custom Light Blue: Amsterdam Sky Blue Light & Titanium White
Colored Pearl Recipe (used in this pour):
4 parts Behr Satin Enamel Deep Base 7753 Scuff Defense OR 2 parts Behr Premium Plus Deep Base 7300
3 parts US Floetrol
2 parts tube paint or 1 part fluid paint (to tint)
1.5 parts Golden Gloss Color Pouring Medium (Or 1 prt GAC800 & 1/2 prt Liquitex Pouring Medium)
Water to thin (approx 4 parts depending on Behr satin enamel ratios)
White Pearl Cell Recipe:
2 Pts Behr Premium Plus Deep Base 7300 or 1/2 pt DecoArt Satin Enamel White
1/2 part Artist Loft Paint
1/2 part Apple Barrel White
1/2 part Liquitex Titanium White
3 Parts US Floetrol
1.5 Parts Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss (or 1 pt GAC 800 plus 1/2 pt Liquitex Pouring Medium)
Water to thin (approx 2 pts)
Pouring Medium for PUDDLE/POUR OVER/DUTCH POUR paints:
50% Floetrol 50% Golden GAC 800 (or Golden Color Pouring Medium Gloss)
Puddle & Dutch Pour Paints mixed 1 pt paint to 5 pts PM and water to consistency (tube paint approximately 1 part water, fluid paint no water) (This is the ratio for highly pigmented paints like Golden, Amsterdam, Pebeo, etc)
No silicone used for cells. It was all the layering of the paints that made those cool effects.

Thanks for the shout out sista!! I agree with measuring!!! This is beautiful! The pearl pour recipe evolves doesn’t it!! Lol 😝
Thanks so much my friend! This recipe I’m sure will evolve too but I’m not willing to give up nice pearls just to eliminate an essential component to make the recipe easier. I’d love to use less ingredients but I know what kind of pearls I like to get and I will use this recipe until I can achieve the same results with less ingredients! Lol! I know you can relate! 🙏🏻☺️❤️
GORGEOUS TARA!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕

Thanks so much Lori! It’s funny because I didn’t like this one when I did it but It grew on me! Honestly though…most of mine are that way…probably the perfectionist in me…hard to control the uncontrollable you know…🤔🤨🤣 So strange but as it kept looking at it it really grew on me and now this one is one of my favorites…go figure. 🤣 Anyway, thanks so much for all your kind words! Your amazing! 😘❤️☺️🙏🏻

@@PiecesofTaraArtistry Yep, lol
This is gorgeous Tara! With the dark colors it still feels light and I can tell it’s you.❤️. Thanks for the kind works.🙏. Getting excited for April!
Thanks Sara! And thank you for your inspiration. I know you can relate to creating the pearls that you love and using a recipe with many components. It would be great to use less BUT it’s not worth giving up the pearls that we love and that people are inspired by! Can’t wait to hang with you again at FAE! It was such a blast last time! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
Wow...I love the dried results. Absolutely gorgeous Tara. 😁The color combo is so calming😘
Thank you so much Brenda. This one challenged me but I’m glad it worked out! Thankfully the colors worked together beautifully. 🙏🏻☺️❤️
Wow Tara! I Love this black pearl painting! While I really like the white pearls, I always wished I could get good black pearls. I've tried several times and at most got weak black pearls. ASAP I'm going to mix up some black following your exact recipe. I really like the composition in this painting also. I have some modern masters that I will try out with this black base coat. As usual, you give out very vital information for people to be successful. Thanks for the ideas and the inspiration! I was running low on my Tara inspiration, so it was a good thing you posted today😉.😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks so much Tera! I would definitely follow the recipe and if you have MM Gold or Champaign I know they will pearl beautifully. The Sapphire doesn’t work well as a pour over color but I bet would be beautiful as a base color. I’m glad that you find my ramblings helpful! Sometimes I feel like I am just rambling…🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, thank you again for always having such kind words. Your a doll! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
This is so beautiful! I love the pearls and how you create the blow out through it. Thank you! 🤗💖
Thanks so much Kathy dear! 🙏🏻☺️❤️
Gorgeous
Thanks Sylvia❤️
I present my greetings and my admiration for your work, your display of artistic capacity that stands out for its beauty. Congratulations. On a cell surface, is it possible to create the sensation of a desert floor with cracks, that is to say, apply crackling without deforming the previous work? I would do this in sand tones or colors. Thank you very much for your professional concept, I will appreciate it. Many successes and blessings.
César
Thank you so much Cesar. You should give it a try! That would be pretty cool! 🙏🏻☺️❤️
My scale has more paint on it than my most recent painting 😂
LOL B Man!! That’s hilarious! Mines the same. The buttons don’t even work half the time anymore because all the paint and PM that has seeped into. I’m actually surprised it’s still working at all. I do have to pound the numbers and bang on it every once in a while to get it to work. Might be time for a new scale. 😂😂
@@PiecesofTaraArtistry I’m sure neither one of us own a hairdryer that doesn’t have paint on it either 😂
Lol! Yup you are absolutely right! I woke up the morning and my husband said “you have paint on your elbow”…paint is basically on everything…including me! 🙏🏻☺️❤️
You are an artist and a quick responder‼️
🤣🤣
Tara, I love this ❤️ The black popping through looks gorgeous with the other colors!
Thanks so much Leesah! I think it looks cool too! ❤️☺️🙏🏻
