I've always had a soft spot for 64 and 65. This one looks really good and I love that he still has the bed rails! most people take those off immediately I'm looking for a set for my long bed. If in two months I can find a set I'm going to end up doing the same thing and make my own
My great-grandfather owner one of these 64 Chevys and when he passed it was given to my grandfathers brother. He restored it before he passed so that’s why it was given to him. Anyways, it’s in better condition that the truck here probably, mint green, and it’s worth about 12 k I’ll try to buy it someday because it has sentimental value, and it’s not that much money for a truck that nice.
This is what a truck is supposed to look like...rims don't have to cost a fortune, or look like wagon wheels with rubber bands stretched around them to look good...rock tf on! My truck has family history too & I've still got all the paperwork from when my Dad bought it off the lot brand new in 1969...and when I get done building it, I'll drive it to Georgia...
I'm somewhat of a purist and I think a hopped up 283 would go great in that truck rather than a modern engine also would look better with chrome bumpers and grill. Still a nice truck over all
That truck makes me miss my 62 c10 I painted black, i still have a 235 inline six that's for sale complete. And my 64 c10 I had a 400 4 bolt main 350 trans lol
That is really nice ,very cool . Trey did some cool upgrades on that truck , gives me some inspiration on my 66 big back glass c10 I'm building . and another cool video. Thanx !
Wow What a Nice 64’ Love it . I’m still working on my 66’ SWB . One day I’ll finish it . I put in a 350/ TCI 350 years ago . Motor needs to be Rebuilt . But thinking of a LS3 ? I’m old school though. Thank You for the Video. 👍🏻
Thanks for the suggestion! I filmed them pretty consistently after the first couple; however, I've since moved so I'll be trying out a new format coming soon. Appreciate you tuning in!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS thanks for responding. I'm sure I'll make it your own unique style. Nice to see a fellow Georgian make cool BA AF vids. I've been enjoying the vids thanks.
I’m considering swapping a corvette motor into my 66 and swapping to a corvette front end and all the goodies but keep the stock look on it and also install some cutouts have it like a sleeper
I just recently ran across your Channel. I love the content. I have a 72 C10 short wheel base that's been sitting in my garage for about teen years. You've got me motivated to pull it back out. I have a small block 400 in it that probably has about 3,000 miles on it. What do you think about the Holly fuel injection system or do you just recommend doing a LS swap?
Awesome! Thanks for tuning in. And I absolutely love a 72 shorty, especially one with a 400 sbc. I really like my LS but the next one I build for a 1/2 ton truck will be a sbc with Holley Sniper EFI set-up.
Thanks for your response! My truck has a 400 with a 280 comp cam double hump heads with 205 valve 400 trans with a 2500 stall as well..I'm thinking about doing a built 700r or a 4l60e. What do you recommend doing? I've had the truck for about 20 plus years. Right now I'm just looking for some durability and to be able to just get in the truck and enjoy it. I'm not trying to race it. I just like the sound of a camshaft.
Nice truck! My son and I are building a 65 Fleetside together (exact same color combo). I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what side mirrors the guy was using, and where he got them? Thank you!
Thanks for asking. I'm just getting into camera gear so I've been geeking out on it a bit. My main DSLR is an older Leica V-Lux4, my go pro is Hero 5 Black, and I use an iPhone 7 for third angle shots. I'm going to invest in a Mirrorless camera soon. Something like a Canon M50 or a Sony A6400.
love this channel. I do not have any social media and wanted to ask if you know of any good condition stepside tailgates for a squarebody. I have a GMC stamped tailgate but need a Chevrolet
Thanks for reaching out, Brandon. And for tuning in. The good thing is all the stepside gates from 47-87 were the same because the full-size beds are the same - only the fenders were different. I believe I have one that's decent but I'm in GA. Unsure where you are. If you're in another state, I'm pretty sure you could find a gate on craigslist fairly easily. To be honest though, facebook marketplace is key to finding parts.
Yea sorry about that. forgot to mention I live in Marietta right down the road. You seem to like the GMC stuff so I thought I would ask. I did not realize that the tailgates were the same for that long so thank you for the tip.
@@brandonpartain6613 all good. I would definitely be interested in your GMC gate for my chevy one. Shoot me an email at unitedbytrucks@gmail.com and we can chat.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I knew that was what you were saying!! That's my cousin's last name! Lol I figured you were just putting a strong southern draw on lock. We almost sound like we are saying I when saying short o sounds.

Yeah, that and the part about the bed wood was a really cool part of the story. It's amazing the stories these old trucks and their owners can tell.

Love the 64. Nice family truck as mine Mine was red originally but had been covered by other paint. We need to get these two together
It's a killer truck! As is yours. Need to get it over to the house for a walk-around, if you're up for it.

Nice ! Happy to see the stock look !
Suggestions, you should do WIMG a little more like Hoonigan Build Breakdown with a consistent format.

I'm working on trying to buy a 66 off this older gentleman right now. He doesn't wanna sell it but it's just sitting outside, under a tree, uncovered.

Whitlock Garage awesome Robbie you the man !
That's awesome I'm doing a 64 c10 long bed step side
AC and chrome bed rails definitely best features
I agree!
Great video guys, did you install a 3 point seat belt in the truck, and if so, where did you get it? thanks
I believe Trey did. I believe a few companies make them for these trucks. In this instance, I'd look at Brothers.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS thank you guys

ki lo I’d consider a built 4l60e or a 4l80e. The 4l80e are supposedly bulletproof. That’s what I’m planning for my burb build.
Beautiful truck, did he say the color was phat red?
Haha! Yup, he said the color was phat red on the wheels to match the original likely 514 medium red on the truck.
Awsome truck, did the stock 5.3 exhaust manifolds clear the frame? I'm doing the ls swap on a 66 c10.
I believe the frame had to be clearanced. TBSS manifolds will work without clearancing frame.
Nice truck! My son and I are building a 65 Fleetside together (exact same color combo). I was wondering if you would be able to tell me what side mirrors the guy was using, and where he got them? Thank you!
Awesome! Those look like factory mirrors. Not sure where/if they are reproduced.
What drop was it in the front, I couldn’t make it out..?
I believe it's dropped 3 inches in the front.
Nice. .. Very nice And yes I did order some merch Friday... Thanks for sharing...Come on mail......
Dude. Yes. Thanks for supporting UBT and the channel. And yes, Trey's truck is...well, cool.
Whats your camera setup besides the go pro ? Thought i saw a lumix in a video ? What model ?
Thanks for asking. I'm just getting into camera gear so I've been geeking out on it a bit. My main DSLR is an older Leica V-Lux4, my go pro is Hero 5 Black, and I use an iPhone 7 for third angle shots. I'm going to invest in a Mirrorless camera soon. Something like a Canon M50 or a Sony A6400.
Needs bags and a proper set or Detroit Steele’s 20’s will do perfect...lol!
Pretty perfect to me!
