I wish other countries were like the US. I all humans have a problem with power. The US responsibly uses its power. I’m sure some could argue exceptions. I’m not naive to that. But if you look at the history of mankind, there have been very abusive times. We are always vigilant to be better. Humans generally disagree with each other. Diplomacy and communication are always favored.
I used to work C-5's and part of the job was to rebuild tires once they're worn. New rubber would be ordered from supply and delivered. Around the circumference of the tire was a label which indicated the year the tire was made and whether it was a recap or new. We'd get tires in that were many years old that were stored....somewhere. Considering the size of the C-5 fleet at the time and that each plane took 28 tires and that all these tires had to be out in the system for use it was amazing to think just how much is out there for military supplies that are stockpiled for use around the globe. The US military machine is quite vast and far reaching.
If you ever pass through Hawthorne, NV you will see what looks like thousands of little molehills in the countryside. They're actually underground ordnance storage bunkers. The army chose Hawthorne because it's always cool and dry.

USAF munitions operations look a lot more pristine then when my ship use to pull into Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach to on load or off load munitions before maintenance periods.
PS - The one fun event was taking on a lot of old ammunition and given the mission of going to San Clemente weapons range to expend all of it and record results.
I would have gotten in to the army here!!! Everything looks so clean and organized!!!

8:31 That isn't washing the brass, that is "demilling" the brass, so it can't be reused for making cartridges without going through the whole process.

Way different than back in our days - 1967 - 71 as a USAF 46150 "BB Stacker" We worked in Kadena AB, Okinawa with B-52s (750s and 500s) and Korat RTAFB, Thailand with F4E Phantoms (which carried a variety of weapons )
I think also Clark AB in Philipin .
No one has achieved efficiency of logistical capabilities of U.S. military with such a global presence.

@@GivemeproofkidIraq was an L . Pretty sure we accomplished that one. Have any other country try to establish the same capabilities that far away from their own country and you’ll get worse results . Look at Russia fighting a country that literally borders it and they can’t get enough supplies in country.

I was a field wire man in Nam. Cracked me up first 3 or 4 times that I ordered some quarter mile & mile rolls of commo wire that way. Supply would reject my order because bit was not in metric. Supply sergeant was a lazy dick who liked to drink in the club all day and would not provide me with the metric measurement so I had to call battalion to get it. When the lazy supply sergeant contacted me to.pick up my wire I refused it because it was in metric measurement like I ordered. Went up to a Captain who reamed his lazy butt and after that always ordered commo wire in feet. He has trouble converting it .
Business is good right now.

All the ordnance should be bar coded for tracking purposes.
Back in 08 time frame there was a try for a bar code/scanning process, but it didn’t work out very well.

Your SUPPOSED to police your own brass anyway even outside the military .
@@JoeRogansForehead You bet my friend. Every visit to my local range I collect any brass that can fill 5 gallon buckets. When I have a couple filled I get my Devil forge rocking and pour a few bars. Super easy to cash in at my local scrap yard. Good comment my friend.

They aren't spent 'blank' cartidages, they are spent cartidages. 'Blank' cartidages are rounds that do not have bullets. The US armed forces has little use for rounds that have no bullets.
Blank cartridges are definitely used by the us military for all 21 gun salutes because they aren’t gonna shoot rounds into the sky in Arlington cemetery
Also when doing field props, blanks with miles gear are used.
Most practice rounds are basically blanks too, they usually have Blue marking in them too. Artillery, Aviation, Tank rounds and others too.

@@JoeRogansForeheadspent almost 11 years as an Ammunition Specialist in the Army. Originally a 55b, they changed it to an 89b, then added the 89a as they mentioned in the video. The 89a was the “office” side of the MOS and the 89b was the “worker bee” of the MOS.

Back in my US Navy days being an aviation ordnancemen on f-18 hornets our MK-82/83/84 bombs never had that grey looking cradle on them . I really wonder what good they do or the purpose , Looks wasteful to me ???

they are guidance kits to make dumb bombs smart
I think they're bolt on stabilizing fins to help keep it under control while being directed by it's gps guidance system giving directions to it's motorized tail-fins, which are also bolt on items.
