I grew up in Austinmer which is on the northern fringe of Wollongong and used to go there a lot in the 70’s up until I moved away from the area in 1983. I have been back a couple of times but was disappointed with how much it’s changed. Personally, I always thought Wollongong had a seedy feel back then and now. I remember shopping at Crown Central with the pedestrian walkway across the street but that’s gone now. The beaches were better north of Wollongong too. It is still a part of my childhood and my hometown and even after 40 years, a part of me still belongs there.
You're in the GONG. You must make enough of money doing this gig. To live on. Next time you're in the south coast? Go down to Shellharbour city centre. Just catch a bus 37, 53, 51 from the train station just outside the exit/entrance off Platform 2. That should take you all the way to shellies the last stop. And its the same bus numbers to get back to wollongong train station. Last stop of that route.
Do u live here in Wollongong and know bit of it mate???. Could u plz help me out which 2-3 primary and High schools r best in the city?? As I m coming next month to settle down here. And plz suggest can I get a ok-ok job here?? As we will be 4 in a family, just got 491 visa.
@@gogadev It honestly just really depends of the type of day. You’d rarely ever see any brazen muggings during business hours in the heart of the CBD. Crimes here are mostly home invasions, car break ins, theft, etc. unless you went walking around Mangerton or Cringilla by yourself at night, you’ll be fine, lol
@gogadev I walked wollongong at night many times and nothing like that happens often. When it did happen to a random stranger. It was unknown and unpredictable. Unexpected sort of event. It's not something that happens often. Some people have issues and they have tendencies to talk false ideas and thoughts. I think this is like rhetorical statement for humour effect.
