Sad that I can only press like once. This song really needed to be a bit more agressive with the music, I guess the nick producers just wanted to hit the broadest possible audience and toned it back to the more pop sound. Only wish there was a studio quality remix of this :D
A small detail I really liked is how you used her vocals from the episode version where her vocals are more edgy. The original soundtrack version has her singing a lot more gentle. This was an awesome mix and I never knew I needed to hear this until now. It feels so complete!

I just tried to make it sound more like a band! If they were actually playing it live with guitars and drums like how it looks in the show, I think it would naturally sound a lot like this
that was the best era of music imo there are tons of eras with good music, but the early 2000's were a decade of amazing music from EVERY genre. the opo music, the club music, the rock, the punk, the metal, even the country music was better then

I just layered some additional drums and guitar over the song! I don't think I had to modify the original track AT ALL -- the vocals are just really loud. As you said in the other comment, the overdriven guitar in the original is insanely quiet, so I just picked out some fitting chords and played on top of it. The original drums were alright but had NO real cymbal work, so aside from enhancing the overall drum track, I had to mix the cymbals in rather loud. The song already had a decent enough bass line though, so I left that.

Honestly my inspiration was early Paramore, specially the “Riot!” and “Brand New Eyes” album. My favorite “heavier” band is Point North, they just released a new album. Not a female vocalist but Jon Lundin does sing very high with a lot of personality
