  • Star Wars The Bad Batch aired its series finale and I'm honestly questioning what the point of the show was.

    Every time i see this show’s title, i keep thinking it says
    “the Bad Bitch”

    what if the poiint of the show is to be an entertaining show focusing on clone characters and their arc after order 66? isn't that enough reason for a show to be written? is character development not enough, or does every star wars show have to have a purpose explaining or developing material for the sequels? aren't the messages of sacrifice, family, and consequences faced by clones "good enough" for this show to exist?

      My issue with the show is not its premise. My issue is what I discussed in the video. The show struggled to find an identity of what it wanted to be imo. Also, the writers introduced a lot of plot points and then never followed up or answered any of them.

      You can’t keep giving shows a pass for “passing the buck” to future shows. That’s not fair. New shows should’nt have to carry that baggage, they should be allowed to tell their own stories

    L take. The ending was beautiful, none of these questions you have need to be answered, they’re not what the story is about. The narrative is about family and how you can stick together and make it through tough times, and that’s what they stuck to. Tech dying was a crucial focal point that was their major hardship, and season 3 was how they showed how they made it through that

      Literally the worst story. Family? Really? The story should have been about sacrifice a weight and purpose for the Star Wars story. No answers were answered and honestly felt a lot like the sequels. They could’ve had a family ending still by having the BB sacrificing themselves for omega to live on. Instead they have nostalgia be the end all be all. Had potential being the greatest SW series.

    This entire 3 season series could of been told in one season if they didnt meander around half of each season with all this filler. Not to mention the story went nowhere and created more questions than answers. Example Omega is explicitly implied to be "special" the moment we meet her is S1, half way through S3 we get a vague ambiguous reason why shes important. Example 2, the purpose of this show, other than omega & the bad batches story, is not revealed until S3 that the overarching plot to omegas importance is essentially part of how palp "cloned" himself, or at least an attempt to explain that away. Example 3 the main antagonist of the show are ROGUE CLONES running from empire, you would think this wpupd be the perfect opportunity to show the CLONE REBELLION considering its already sparsely shown in bits throughout the series but this show cant take eyes off omega at all, every episode has to be related to OMEGAAAA. I do want to preface i enjoyed the finale, its serviceable for what were given, and i appreciate the attempt of showing omegas growth. However the amount of times she runs off, doesn't listen, anf literally bosses the bad batch around and make them FOLLOW HER is astounding considering its always goes like this
    Hunter: "omega we have to go"
    Omega:"Hunta we cant leave them!"
    Hunter:"Ok omega fine"
    Alsoi just wanna say bringing ventress back was dumb asf considering she was only in 1 episode. Lastly i wanna touch on Omega b/c after you watch the epilogue i feel as if you really wanna know more about omega because despite spending 3 seasons with her where almost every episode is focused on her its like you dont know that much about her b/c the majority of time spent with her is when shes being a dumb ass kid repeatedly not learning and the audience isnt learning anything knew about her either. In S3 is when you start to see her actually start gaining consciousness and develop into an actual character but i cant help but think did it really need to take 2 prior seasons to get to this point? Im glad this show is over im so sick of shows with bad filler especially that we have prpjects lile TOTJ and TOTE that are singlur condensed stories with no room for bs, exactly as a story should be, continually progressing the plot, deviations in the story however can be done, but doing deviations for half a season gets old real quick. Quick example of that. In s3 count how many times your watching a filler episode and they encounter some bigg ass creature to kill. They did that shit every episode this season it was almost comical. Farewell clone force 99

    Overall a disappointing ending for an era that had a lot of potential. The shows and films that they keep making for the prequel and original era or have some connection to the era via the new republic era/mandalorian/Ashoka/book of boba fett, hurts the story and characters more then it brings any sense of benefit or new discovery. They probably won’t move on from neither the prequel or original era for a while as no one is interested in the sequel era but the little good that happens in the shows will justify more content which just leaves for more and more low quality stories.

    I personally don't like the original trilogy for the same reason you don't like Bad Batch. Like, they had 3 movies and they don't explain what is the force? How does it work (in one scene Darth Vader is chocking a dude and in the other Obi-Wan has mind control)? Who is the Emperor? How the Empire got to power in the first place? How Darth Vader wasn't able to tell Leia is his daughter when they first met? If droids are so common, why they didn't shoot the escape pod R2 and C-3PO used to escape with the plans of the Death Star?
    I mean, if I'm left with questions and they don't answer everything I want to know in it's own production, I'll certainly be disappointed. Later on they thought about doing the prequels and I'm not even going there, because there's more questions, even tho they did answer a couple of those.

    • @DCNetwork
      @DCNetwork  5 місяців тому

      That's a very interesting take on the original trilogy. I personally liked the films but I didn't see them until after I saw 1-3 and some of Clone Wars so I definitely had a different perspective on them.

    • @mareiramv
      @mareiramv 5 місяців тому

      @@DCNetwork I was kidding lol.
      I'm mirroring part of your opinions on Bad Batch into the OT for perspective sake. We don't always get answers and that is something that is present in every single media. Something that's been present in Star Wars since the start. Since the first movie, the first trilogy and the first prequels, but the stories hold on their own, as the Bad Batch does. The whole Empire bit on the series (besides Crosshair) was this secret Project Necromancer that the Emperor was interested in and the destiny of the clones and we know what happened with the project now and also have a general idea of what happened to the clones after the Empire replace all of them AND with the Bad Batch themselves, since, if you've seen Clone Wars and you notice how effective clones are and how effective this particular group is it would make you wonder why the Empire never took advantage of that. That's what the series wanted the viewers to reflect on and that's something that was never really explained in Rebels. The point of the series is to really show the early days of the Empire so we can understand some of the changes that happened from the Republic era to this new one because we haven't seen that yet. We only watched when everything was set it on.

    • @DCNetwork
      @DCNetwork  5 місяців тому

      @@mareiramv I mean to me that's bad writing if you're going to pose questions in a show and then not follow up on any of them.

    • @mareiramv
      @mareiramv 5 місяців тому

      @@DCNetwork but in a whole universe of movies/series, you are allowed to do that. The OT never answered any of the questions I pointed out there, but the prequels did. Something else can easily come out from The Bad Batch that would, later on, answer most of the questions, if not all of them. Using this parameter to determine if something has good writing or not would make any franchise's production pretty much terrible. I hardly believe Omega story is completely done so it's possible and I dare say, likely, that we will get some kind of Spin-Off or maybe see her again in the Mando movie or Ahsoka season 2.

    If you can't tell what the point of the show is then you have something off with you. It very obviously family and standing up for those that need it. In the last episode alone there is 3 examples of this, 99 going above and beyond to get omega, the clones that couldve escaped but choose to fight for others freedom, and omega leaving to fight in the rebellion because its need even though she could live a peaceful life on Pabu. Rewatch the show without the lens of creating a clickbaity youtube video.
