Wow. What an honest and intimate account of your year. You are rare, and fabulous. Keep following your heart. Your mom sounds like a rock star. I have a son in his 20's with similar drive and anxiety, so I know what it's like to want to say the right thing when his expectations of himself get the best of him. I'm so glad you have her as your compass. I can't wait to see where 2023 takes you! ❤️

Jacqueline, your comment brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for the support and kind words. Moms are super heroes and we are all so indebted to the mother figures in our lives for holding it down. Have a very happy New Year! ❤️❤️

My father always said: the more things you own, the more they own you. Words I live by.

Very true in my experience. That is some sage fatherly wisdom right there. 😊

Jessica this is such a heartfelt and honest assessment of your year. It is truly amazing to think of all you’ve accomplished at such a young age. As an older woman, I need to say that the content you create is so helpful to me as well as younger folks. It’s a delight to be able to strive to become more mindful when purchasing and I owe that and my move towards a more minimal closet to you. And I’m just one person, so to think of the people you influence with your content is amazing. You are a sincere person and that comes across in your work. I think anyone who follows you can see the thought and work that goes into what you do. As someone who has struggled throughout life with confidence, I can understand how even a few negative comments can make you question. But stick to your beliefs. You know your stuff sand I hope you continue to share with your followers. We need you❤

Jessica, I am not sure how I fell upon your channel, but here I am, for almost a year. You are a favorite. I always am so happy when I see and new post from you. It's a pleasant visit with a like minded friend. Your direction is the future. Thank you for sharing your personal growth. Very best you in the coming year. Looking forward to seeing you then.💞

Jessica, thank you for this. I think I’ve commented this exact thing before, but as someone who wants to learn about capsule wardrobes and minimalism, because they are both newer concepts to me, I’ve stopped watching other content creators when they shifted from minimalism and slow fashion content to promoting fast fashion and doing tons of hauls (and consequently tons of decluttering) videos.
The way you’re staying really intentional matters.
If you DO add things to your life/wardrobe we definitely want to see it in content you create, but we can tell what’s authentic and what is getting back into consumerism:)

Thanks Sara, I really appreciate it! It can be a tricky space to navigate but the support of likeminded friends really helps me stay on track. Many thanks to you for the kind words. ❤️

Wishing you another year of adventure, the type of adventure that you would like to experience, in 2023. I “discovered” you in 2022, so this is one thing that you brought to my reality, my adventure, for which I am very grateful. Thinking how minimalism might fit into my life, and thinking how I could be more creative with what I have.

Thank you so much for this video! So many of the things you said resonate a lot with me! As a fellow minimalist and sustainable fashion content creator and travel lover even though my everyday life looks different (being a mom and living in the same place all year round) I think a lot about similar things and I just loved hearing your honest thoughts! all the best wishes for this year, your upcoming content and life in general :)

Moments alone during solo travel can be both exhilarating and intimidating.😄 Glaf you’re playing it safe. Having a supportive Mom and nurturing (green thumb) Dad to come home to is priceless. I can see how even the phrase “sustainable lifestyle” is somewhat contradictory. - More reason to have a well considered/informed view of the direction/purpose of your work.
    P.S. I suck at typing. 🙄

Yes so true, I am constantly reminded of how much I have to be grateful for. Reflection really cultivates that gratitude too. Thanks for the kind words and I hope you have a wonderful new year! Also, your typing is perfect!
