The whole line used to be a semi-metro (or premetro) that was integrated in the main metro network at Station Zuid. Line 51 used to go from Central Station to Amstelveen Westwijk. In 2019 the line closed to be converted into a regional tram line. Some stops have been removed to make the line faster. At the end of 2020 the line reopened with new low flor trams like u see in this video.

@@Spoor4 before the metro was there, it was all flowers and other plants between the road.
