I've had Buffalo for 30 years - all you need is a small 18 in small victa. Buffalo is easy to maintain and tough if you have kids - will stay green - best lawn by far (and I've had them all)
Buffalo is awesome, it’s so nice to have a low maintenance lawn, Yearly scalp, top dress not required. Always green and won’t invade anywhere you don’t want it to go. The Saphire is awesome down sides of the house where it’s shaded lots.
Getting excited to start the Buffalo reno soon. Just priced a pro-job core/dethatch/top dress.... $1000 per 100sqm and we have 300 squares. I didn't want to hire the machines, but looks like I might have to learn how to use them 😅
Great video, I switched to sapphire buffalo about 2 years back from Kikuyu. Kikuyu was amazing but the maintenance was killing me. I refused to use Buffalo until Sapphire came along. What a grass! Thanks again
Here’s another tip for the Scotty. Don’t rev the engine mid rev or high rev and dunk the clutch. Let the engine idle, engage it then crank the revs up.
I've moved into a new house in Melbourne. The lawn has it's own irrigation but there appears to be patchy areas, invasive grass and weeds present. Where do I start in trying to get it all fixed up?
Hey Adam, great vid mate. I have Tiftuf out the front and Buff out the back. I cylinder mow the Tif but was worried about the tif making (from the mower) its way into the buff if I was ever to cylinder mow that as well. Thoughts?
@@allanbriggs807 It certainly has its place in areas where better turf species would struggle, but it has to be cut high. All the claims/benefits that the breeders have made about soft leaf buffalo, only work when it’s cut high. Anyone who wants buff low and tight will have weed problems and/or traffic wear.

I'm glad you have had a great experience!

When looked after properly, it is a nice lawn :)

Always run the edger wheel down the paved side, its flatter and will make a neater job.

Good onya Adam, job well done. Are you going to use any PGR on any of the lawns through out the year?
Thanks mate, if we don’t use PGR at Railways I definitely will be applying it at my old man’s place. When it comes time I will make sure to film it!
I agree...cylinder mowing is so much nicer and I love mowing buffalo low but looking at under 30mm in height if possible
Absolutely!

Must be winter at the lawn hub?

You caught us napping! It's been flat out recently, and people have been away on holidays. We plan to get back into it soon!
What variety of Buff is that? I find SWB to just grow way too fast, thick and runners grow like crazy. That buff looks managable?
Less than 20 seconds in he says it’s SWB

Mow buff first and then couch. But wash the mower after couch mow
@@wadeokendall1315 thanks mate, I’ll give that a crack👍
As mentioned mate, just give it a wash or a blow :)
Don’t care what you say, buff is shithouse
Sort of with you still haha 😂
