Yeah. I'm sure most the people in the crowd if they had a pair of gloves and weren't so barely dressed could have got it back in the water. Pretty dishonorable of them to kill it.
@Curious Nomad what makes feeding your family dishonorable, dishonorable is someone who eats animals but refuse to acknowledge where the meat comes from

@surfpipeline yes because the cows walking the slaughtering line who get to watch all their friends die before they head to their own death is fair chance, u live i ln a world with blinders on, when you go into the restaurant for dinner and order the marlin macadamia nut crusted marlin you are supporting the the fisherman who dragged it from the water and beat it over the head with a bat, that doesn't make him wrong and u right, that's u pretty much hiring a hit man to do a job that you want to pretend like it doesn't happen
Releasing it back in the water wouldn't be a good idea safety wise with all the tourists & people in the waikiki beach water... in 2015 a man died in Hilo Harbor from being speared by a swordfish in the water.

Yea so you're just gonna get in there, pick it up and take it back out are you? Marlin are notorious for giving one final attempt at stabbing their opponent when they finally tire out, there are hundreds if not thousands of stories of fishermen getting stabbed when reeling them in.
Yes that's how traveling works. You visit places and cultures that are very different than yours so you find things fascinating. Imagine someone from Hawaii being in Alaska and seeing glaciers/Moose/Bald eagle etc.
This fish was running away from something. He hoped that he could evolve legs and be able to live on land until he was comfortable to get back in the sea
There IS an explanation. It's called the earth's magnetic field shift. Look into it. In the meantime get used to more bizarre animal behavior like this.
instead of saving it..just watch it and take video. Arent humans just amazing. Same as a shark video on Maui a while back, sum shit head local just taking video and pictures next to it.
returning it to the wild would not only be unsafe, but also, you, nor any of the people taking video, would be paying for the man power and resources needed to safely return such a large fish to its natural habitat far and away from the people and commercial activity of waikiki...
The locals taking it home and eating it is the best part of the story.
Tourists “ poor fish. Put him back in its home”
Also tourist” I’ll have the fish and chips”
Lol..no chat
That's most local boy move. Everyone like "oh, save it". Brah walks up and whips out a blade.
A'u is good raw and cooked 🤣
all the tourists be sad.. but the locals ready to grind lol
idk how much a whole fresh marlin is worth in hawaii but it can't be cheap
Between the fish in Kailua beaching themselves, the dead fish floating in Kahalu’u and this, I’m starting to think somethings going on.

Yeah, the reporter explained. Sometimes marine life gets disoriented. It's been happening for a long time.
It certainly looks like it has a lot of life in it and wanted help getting back into the water 😢

There’s still people in the water, if they release it right away, it could possibly injure someone.
They clear people out of the water for sharks but not fish..💯
Should be more worried about what made it beach itself
Dummy 2:09 tourist trying to touch the Marlin's Bill... smh
She should have. Others can learn from her stupidity.
It's the best way to try restrain them, by grabbing a hold of their bill, better then letting them have free reign with it.

Shark chasing in or water temp making it move in. Since USN using new underwater signaling this happens more often too.
Marlin Brando reincarnated.

Why didn’t someone drag the Marlin back in the water and save its life or call the SPCA. !!!!
why did noone drag it back in??
One man's trash is another man's treasure. Sushi time 😂
That's embarrassing and disrespectful to Aina, fish should have been led back out to sea.
Marlin Civeche is so good, if you're in Maui Lahaina, go find the local fish markets that make them. It'll come at a hefty price however.
Running from the contaminated water from Japan lol
Leave it to the locals to handle things !!

His marlin wife left him
That sucks they killed it. Should have dragged it back into the water. Someone's got a pair of work gloves and jeans.
