i really dont get why most of the Christian world keeps focused on fixing the old, dead man instead of living in the Spirit we were born again. fixing the old man is exhausting and never ends.
Many believers haven't internalized their new creation identity and don't see themselves from their spiritual identity because their emotions and circumstances are more real to them than their spiritual reality. We have carnal Christianity to thank for that, all the focus on obedience to God's Law rather than a focus on a response to his love. The tide may be turning though, his kingdom is increasing.
It's more of your spiritual nature, the part of you that is renewed when you believe. When you were born again and cleansed by the life-blood of Jesus, God gave you a new heart (inner man, nature) and placed His spirit in you. Ezekiel 36:26, Jeremiah 31:33 and Colossians 2:11
Listening to this again and wow yes definitely gnosticism taught we were supposed to pray to get out of this world because it was all flash wow and you've been hitting on every point of the nasties of religion that's exactly it
