And just very recently this area (Asmat tribe) is even not in Papua anymore, but newly formed South Papua province. Since June 30th, Papua province is splited into 4 new provinces that is Papua (the original province), South Papua, Central Papua, and Highlands Papua.

Depends on how you define isolated. Papua is part of the old world so it would not suffer as much from global diseases as native south americans have suffered, but they very much live isolated.

I was lucky to get see the birds of paradise, cassawaries, and komodo om Bali as I really could go further East to Komodo annd onto Papua just on my own. For that you adventure, you'll need specialized guides and guards that gets expensive though the protection services are necessary particully if starting out in the dangerous high crime city of Port Moresby. I guess what's probably changed the past 20 years on Papua is the sold a lot of forest for the Chinese to cut down exported to the West as lumber for things like American wooden buildings.
I'm ashamed to say the Bergmans, a New Zealand forestry company, had their fingers in the pie of devastating rainforest in foreign lands. I apologise on behalf of all Kiwis for what these mongrels did.
Are you sure that the lumber is exported to the West? that doesn't seem correct and perhaps, the Chinese are using the lumber for themselves but claiming they are exporting same to the West.

It can't be hidden either, we would be able to see them from Google Earth if China were lying about using lumber for their own.

I lived in Irian Jaya for a time, the Asmats were not cannibals and were predated upon by the lower jungle tribe that few have seen. Our helicopter pilot always told me that if we crash in the three canopy jungle that we would never be found. New Guinea has the Southern cassowary (the same as Australia) and the Northern cassowary (slightly smaller in PNG) and also the smallest Dwarf cassowary (mountains of PNG). There is an even smaller extinct one called pygmy cassowary that which used to range from new guinea all the way to NSW in Australia. Its closest relative today is probably the bush turkey.
In fact, this practice has long been abandoned since Indonesia became serious about developing the region.
