Acura SH AWD is the best

- this is the best video I have seen describing SH AWD, this is an amazing system pioneered by honda, it makes the ordinary driver has a good control of the car. Most of old racing school drivers know how to work with rear wheel cars only, they do not seem to understand this system well or may biased against it. Anyway this is the best system in the market

these are fairly new models. why is the video quality like it was filmed in 2006?
it wasnt uploaded by acura. its uploaded by some dude so it wasnt converted properly
Its filmed in 2010 bro so its definitely dated
@@sorik20 i posted that in 2014...
@@nova12332 UA-cam recommend brought me here, see you again in 7 yrs.
He was limited by the technology of his time.
I have a 2006 Acura RL and a 2008 Acura RDX, both come standard with Acura's SH-AWD system, SH-AWD is a phenomenal all-wheel drive system, SH-AWD handles amazing in rain sleet snow ect.
I can never have another car that doesn't have an intelligent all-wheel drive system & as amazing as Acura's SH-AWD system is it would be very hard to stray from Acura.
I love my tl awd man
I also have a 2006 RL I love it
May not be the best but coming from a normal good car, the SH-AWD is amazing. I just bought a used 05 RL and it's the best driving car overall I have ever driven. Even better than that 500SL I drove years ago, and that was pretty good. Wonderful cars, the RL's are really affordable because no one knows what they are or wants them used because most consumers are stupid.
I found so funny how people say SUBARU had this before Honda? No ladies and gentleman.. Honda was the first company to release a production car with Left/Right Torque Vectoring back in 1997 in the Honda PRELUDE Type-SH which had "ATTS" the world first production torque vectoring rear differential that delivered individual Left/Right torque to each rear wheel.. The idea came from Mitsubishi which only used this technology in racing rally cars! It wasn't until the "S-AYC" Super-Active Yaw Control found in the EVO 8 that they started to sell production cars with Left/Right Torque Vectoring!! SUBARU? Oh man Subaru didn't have this until the 2015 WRX! Which isn't out yet! So get your shit Facts together.. One thing is Front/Rear Torque Vectoring which Mitsubishi and Subaru are PIONEERS! but Left/Right Torque Vectoring? That was a Honda First!! with ATTS... "SH-AWD" is "ATTS" + "VTM-4" both Exclusive and awarded Honda AWD Technologies.
The '97 Prelude is not rear-wheel drive, it's front-wheel drive atleast in America. But It probably had left/right torque vectoring in the front-differential.
zachary ponds Nope, The 1997 Prelude Type-SH was sold in America and its AWD.
I have seen them in Several Honda Meetings as its now a Collectors Car.
skirmich
Read this. That is all. www.edmunds.com/honda/prelude/1997/?sub=type-sh
zachary ponds
The Type-SH was sold in America and its an AWD Car, Regardless the mistake of a webpage. I said it again: I have seen those cars in person, I talked to their owners, Noticed the Rear Differential..
Japanese (Type-SH) = FWD
Japanese (Type-SH "ATTS") = AWD
American (Type-S) = FWD
American (Type-SH) = AWD < Not Optional
Just give a look at the Wikipedia Page I am too lazy to post it here.
The TYPE-SH Prelude had "ATTS" or "Active Torque Transfer System" it also had a Limited-slip differential and suspension upgrades that caused it to handle far better than the base Prelude although it was still front-wheel drive. The only All-wheel drive cars with SH sports packages are the ones mentioned in the video. So I would recommend rethinking your argument unless you're just trying to be a massive troll.
I have 2 of the sh awd TLs... Yes 2. Long story. But seeing the rdx going in that circle is where you can actually see the movement in the rear wheel. Now when I'm driving I can feel it inside of the cabin but it's hard to describe. I call it SITTING. The rear actually sits down instead of sliding out and fish taling. I always wanted to see it and now this video has done it for me. It's hard to describe unless you drive one. If you ever get the chance try driving the TL, it is a beast. Now why 2?
I got the auto box because I couldn't find a 6 speed and then finally found one about 6 months later and couldn't pass up on the greatest deal ever.
I love the handling
And power
@@treyvon4444 the handling is crazy. Going from the cl type s to the sh AWD is nuts. Best handling car I've driven. The bmw M3 didn't drive this good
@@treyvon4444 the power is crazy. Step on the peddle and it moves and the power is instant in the 6 speed and the auto box is more smooth fast acceleration but the 6 speed pulls like a pit bull walking down the street
@@dentpulla I want to drive a manual so but i never seen one at the dealer. Yeah that super handling takes exit ramps that say slow to 35. I can do twice the speed easy lol. I just got my timing belt and serpentine belt changed. The car pulls like crazy. The take off is way faster then it was when i first got it.
I use to think the S200 was the best handling Honda. Drive the TL with SH-AWD, you will change your mind. Autocross is about the driver, not the car.
Weather this is the best or not, this is definitely one of the better AWD systems out there, people are getting so butthurt about the title
Phil Vargas whether
I F##king love my 2013 sh awd
what's makes my TL fun to drive is the 6speed manual period.
only the manual could bring out the true power of honda engines.
@Absaa90 There is an article in popular mechanics that explains the next generation of AWD systems. I believe they can vector on the front wheels something that SH-AWD can't do AND they can send all the power the the back wheels IE 100% something that SH-AWD can't do. I'm sure Honda will update the system in the future and for the average appliance driving US motorist the new systems will mean exactly zero.
I agree with you shahram72 I bought a used 06 and love it!
Now they need to do this video all over again with the 2012 TL so that people can take this seriously!
Lmao 11 years late. People still dk smh.
Wish the new Acuras weren't so ugly. Waiting for a complete redesign....
Test drove the Forester before I bought the MDX. Both are great cars, but there is no comparison.
None at all lol
Love this video. Thanks.
Note this only works when he is on the gas. 99% of people lift when a car starts sliding. I suppose it's a lot of fun when you learn to do it on purpose.
Pretty much, all of the AWD systems(No matter the manufacturer) work, or work best, when accelerating.
300 hp wow that's mind blowing
why does the tl looks bigger and better than the rl as if it would be acura's flagship vehicle?
From a Audi owner and quattro fan, the SH AWD is great, better than the quattro apart from the sports diff option you can get on the S4 BUT god Acura's of late are ugly, really ugly!
the RL is their supposingly bigger vehicle or their flagship
From Pop Mechanics: Audi, BMW and others are taking it a step further: While SH-AWD only works on the rear axle of a normally front-drive vehicle, new systems from automotive suppliers Ricardo in Britain and ZF in Germany can vector torque to all four tires simultaneously.
Is this true?
@PsychoLolis Superior in maintenance and shoddy build quality. Sure. BMW was ranked like 12 or 13th in reliability. This data was calculated by looking at dealer visits for repairs, nationally by JD Power.
But if you want the badge and want to still live in the old times? Go ahead.
Super handy is what' it's all about!
305 hushpower !!!
Audi suck BMW Sucks Acura the way to go.
DERANGEDFUCKFACE if you're poor then yes

I was going to buy an 2006 A8... Then I saw the problems it'll run into and how tedious basic maintenance was. Nope. I bought an 2006 RL instead. The thing's is invincible compared to the Audi.
@@thomasedmundrichards hmm!....do you know what type of vehicle Mark Zuckerberg drives? What about Bill Gates? Warren Buffet? Jeff Bezos?
They all drive regular, economical, reliable, low-maintenance vehicles! It's broke- cash strapped people like yourself who are trying to "keep up with the Jones" with most of your earnings going towards water pumps, high pressure fuel pumps, suspension parts, etc! 😆 🤣

I heard somewhere that Subaru has the best AWD system.
It should be called smart handling awd
Dear ACURA still missing you 40 years of development in awd and 6 world titles for your awd wrc is one in a fraction comparable to that of SUBARU, dream on....
doesnt need 40 years of experience if there awd system is fundamentally better. I used to be a subie stan but once i found out how sh-awd works its too genius to not appreciate honda as the GOAT
What does SH AWD stand for??? "Super Handing" AWD, like this guy says it. lol
Sometimes he does say, "Super Handling AWD."
Super Duper video
@tdpit same with Acura and Lexus.....just paying extra for a Honda or Toyota and some fancier emblems.
@jtoops11 you right just some more than others. I never had a bmw but what I hear constantly that they brake
this is spenard racing school
gonna break the nuc of many Arrab drifters :(
bmw awd is nice _s_awc is super.
@tdpit BMW brakes a lot, too expensive to fix, takes a lot of gas, actually not faster than my TL 3G, doesn't have great standard features, the navigation is not as good as TL's.....can't wait when I get the new TL
@krinko187 Subaru does it since 5 years witch VDC!!!
lol. the honda prelude sh is not awd, believe me I own one and is fwd and it handles great.
anyone who thinks this AWD setup is great go drive a Subaru and be prepared to trade your joke SH AWD car in. their is actually a video on youtube showing how inferior this AWD system is compared to Subaru, Audi and BMWs systems. Subaru owns all in the AWD market.
@tdpit BMW do have good engine, but the build quality is overrated
WHAT THE FUCK IS SUPER HANDING????
Lo
how come everytime someone like you own a car you have to say it better then bmw lex mb no one cares but in all acura dont sell good
Ok
"We got oneven Pavment, we got san, little san, alot of san"
Seriously, wtf are you talking about "oneven" "san" terrible pronunciation
And its handling, not handing lol
Okay I get that this was 10 years ago that you made this, but i don’t make the subtitles, they are autogenerated
Subaru AWD is the best - don't even try to deny the decades of rally success with their technologies.
Hahaha wow my Subaru is way better than that thing
sorry but subaru have the best AWD system
Ok
No one can touch Subaru's AWD!
Ok
