Favorite white card is exalted angel, what a house!
This was an awesome game! Love seeing UG madness, and that storm deck is crazy! Thanks for the video!
💜💜💜
21:17ish is Meditate. Draw 4, skip your next turn. 2U, instant.
Oh, and thanks for the match! I always look forward to HeavyPlay!
Fav premodern white card? I’ll go pet card and say Story Circle.
Thank you! That does sound familiar, I knew it had some kind of drawback but I couldn’t remember what.
Story circle is a great pick, I’ve never actually seen it played before. What deck would you run it in? UW Landstill?
Akroma's goes BRRRRR! Great content as always!
Appreciate it! That is a good one!
excellent content
my favorite white card is replenish
My favorite white card in premodern is swords to plowshares, best removal spell in pretty much all of magic and the various arts of it are just so gorgeous. The original art is a classic but I love the JP alternate art from Strixhaven.
Good choice! The Ice Age art by Kaja is my favorite version.
@@Heavy_Play I find the presence of Swords to be very interesting, I remember Extended didn't have it (iirc) back in 2000. There's so much premium removal so aggro decks need to have some amount of interaction / counter play, which is I think what makes UG madness so good.
@@TravisWasntAvailable That's a good point, I think most successful aggro decks need to be able to interact on another axis. Goblins is able to port opponents lands, Sligh doesn't need creatures to win, UW has Meddling Mage (and sometimes mana leaks), and sui black runs duress/unmask.
There's an unfortunate error in storm count game 1. Two Frantic Searches (one from each player), Helm, and Cloud of Faeries makes the storm count 4, not 5 (Words of Wisdom was cast the previous turn, yet counted for the last turn of game 1). Thus, the Brain Freezes should have gone off for 5 and 6 copies (11 total=33 cards), but in the game went off for 6 and 7 copies (13 total=39 cards).
While hard to hear and see the count, it looked like UG Madness player said they had 24 cards between RFG, yard, hand, and battlefield. This probably meant 36 cards left, meaning correct storm count and Brain Freeze would have left UG Madness Player with 3 cards left in library :(.
not the first time that player miscounted storm count in his favor, he tried it in the second game as well and was called on it. Once is a mistake, twice is a pattern
That's a good catch, I had to rewatch to make sure. Like you said, a little hard to see the count but the first Brainfreeze should of only been for 15.
@sameulk9199 Keep in mind this is a pretty casual event for low stakes. Knowing the player, and that some amount of drinking was involved (we do play at a brewery), I'm more inclined to say this was a mistake but will be something I mention to him in the future to be more careful on.
Nice matches!
Fave white card in premodern, has to be Mom!
A classic for sure! The new blocking rules update does make her situationally a bit worse, but still a great card.
where can i buy those dice? they seems bigger than the standard ones. are they from a particular brand?
I got them off of Amazon but the listing I bought from isn’t up any more. I’d just look for large wooden dice 20+ mm
Orim's Chant from Plainshift.
Good card, I was surprised when it got reprinted into MH3
Akroma, angel of wrath. EZ
Warmth
Silver knight!
That Scourge art by Eric Peterson is fantastic, especially in foil.
I don't have a lot of experience with the format, but it seems like storm is way stronger than is current representation would suggest. It has all the benefits of mono-U Nought while also being able to go off at instant speed and harder to disrupt. I wonder if we'll see it more often in the future, or perhaps there's a weakness to it that I'm overlooking (pretty weak to Cabal Therapy I guess).
It's a deck that can definitely catch people off guard, but it is pretty slow and does require a LOT of main-deck pieces for it to function which doesn't leave much room for all the interaction decks like U/UW Stifflenought can fit in.
