I have some more orchard videos in the works. No irrigation, for the most part it seems unnecessary. Since the field is bowl shaped with no outlet, part of the orchard floods in the spring during melt-off. It lasts about 1-2 weeks and seeps away in the very sandy Adirondack soil. My plan was to use P.18 in those areas, as that root stock is "tolerant of wet feet", but I didn't have enough trees on that root stock to cover the flooded area, however, everything handles the temporary flooding well (so far). I'd like to try driving a sand point well in that area.
And the deer still get in! I added 2 additional wires and it's helped to keep them out, but they get in if they want to. I may add to more. I've been meaning to ask you, is your L2501 loud? I wear my ear hearing protection when I operate it.
@@southernadirondackoutdoors yea it’s pretty loud. I always try and wear ear protection. Not to mention the whining sound from the HST. I love it though and it has been a huge blessing and back saver.
It keeps the PTO engaged, a feature to allow use of a PTO implement while not seated in the operator's station (for something like a woodchipper). In this case it just keeps the safety switch from shutting down the PTO while I open the gate. Sometimes the older equipment is nice, so you don't have to deal with this stuff. One of those "don't do what I do" things...
That is a nice looking yard! My neighbors had a couple of apple trees until my goats found them.. Now I owe them a couple apple trees.
Ha, that fence was designed to keep animals out, not in. Hopefully it's effective on Bert's and Ernie's.
My how that orchard has grown in the last couple of years! Someone has been very busy!
When I look at prior drone photo's and video I realize the orchard is growing. I don't notice it working there on a daily basis.
hi there looks nice john
Thank you, John!
Great job there Andy
The orchard really looks nice.
It's making progress!
Good job Andy
Thanks Paul!
Looking good!! We asked for an orchard video and you provided :) Do you irrigate your trees?

That’s a heck of a fence setup. 👍🏻👍🏻

I've been very happy with ours as well. It was an unexpected purchase for us after the Massey Ferguson died.
@@southernadirondackoutdoors I did some research before I purchased it and the Kubota had what I was needing. 0% interest also helps 🤣🤣
Why the seat flip when getting off?
