that moment when u cry watching a recipe video
Haha, yes, exactly this!
Oh my goodness I thought I was the only one! Haha. Only Gennaro can do that I guess hahaha
+Fiewd Addict Haha yes, he's the best :-)
i thought it was only me but imagining the taste of that food almost made me cry
control your emotions guys...
This man has actually changed me. Of all the amazing chefs and videos we get to watch on youtube, Gennaro's infectious personality has meant he is the only one who got me to stop with the easy junk food route and start cooking some of these delicious recipes. It does so much for your health and your mental wellbeing when you can cook something that you or your loved one can enjoy.
dragon2712, people like you make my day. It’s absolutely lovely to see chefs like Gennaro inspiring you and many others to take up cooking - besides, it’s never too late to start!
Great comment love Gennaro and his grub keep up with your good cooking all the best
Zachary Wilson I love seeing how this inspired individual inspired you
I am going through the same upward motion that you described and boy am I glad to read this from someone else.
100%
"....memories back." haha I understand him better than more fluent english speakers because of his passion and eccentricity
Right! Love his vigor for cooking and his personality.
4:12 You made me cry. I am Italian but I live abroad, and every time I smell the ragù, I have the same reaction. I remember my childhood, my grandmother who is not next to me anymore...Gennaro, ti voglio bene!
I literally wanted to comment the same thing. He made me cry at that exact moment. I'm Italian too, living abroad, and mostly every Sunday my grandmother used to make ragù, the one that nobody can replicate, not even by knowing the recipe, it's all about the love and passion that you share while cooking. Love you nonna x
Great comments - much love from freezing Ireland :)
Very nice... I am from India, never tried ragu but your very emotions make me cry too. I am sure your nonnas were great cooks @wickedsensation669 @Mari
Hahah
You know what sir? If my job was just watching you cook I could say to myself "This is the most wonderful job in the world." Made my day.
jahd remers hands down would be the best job ever
Cor blimey, I came here for the fricken recipe and ended up crying at Gennaro's trip down memory lane. Bloody 'ell!
SasserN8 lol. Don't be ashamed! I did too!
LMAO me too 😂
That's how you know someone is cooking with love.
Godamn ! That's what I like about Italians... They're getting so sentimental when they cook ! And so rustic too.. That looks so tasty
Makalov yup. That's cooking with passion.
You made me cry gennaro ....
You are so passionate when you're cooking .... I wish you were my uncle lol
This is what we should have on Television! Food made with Love, rainbows and happiness. NOT GORDON RAMSEY, the bully chef, who has an ego and shouldnt be cooking because he's got too much wrinkles and swears alot of his stress in the kitchen. Food SHOULD NOT BE VERBALLY ABUSED!
@@lightchild6992 bravo for comment
I just got here for the Gennaro's Family Lasagne and stopped for the Family Ragu and now I stopped this video for the How to make pasta lol bye

What a beautiful Ragu! The best part is when Gennaro takes the lid off after simmering for 2 hours. The look on his face says it all!

I got so emotional watching this.
i lost my grandma a few months ago and would love to someday share a similar moment like this with her.
Sorry to hear that GVOM 💖
Thank u :)
GVOM May she rest in peace. It made me so sad reading this
thank you, i truly appreciate it. I bet shes looking down from heaven on me and my family smiling :)....and laughing at how ridiculous we can be!

Hi my name is Jimmie Gambino. I was born in Corleone, Sicily I do remember my Grandmother making this wonderful and soso delicious recipe. O my god do I remember. My Mama and Grandmother would teach me how to cook, I spent more time in the kitchen then playing outside. Gennaro cook's the same meals like my Mama. I cook a lot at home my next door neighbors would smell the food coming out of my house.... I invited all my neighbors for Dinner. My god they fell in love with my Lasagna, Ossobuco, Carbonana, and my Family Rago. I would a lot for my neighborhood did not charge. I truly love cooking at home. I have all my Grandmother's recipes. O how I miss her so.
We do the same things in Greece my yiayia would make lovely Spanakopita and Gouvetsi and on the weekends us and the entire family would eat and watch the sunset over the Wonderful Coast its a shame she passed on.
You've probably realised this before but you come from the town that Vito Andolini (who later calls himself Vito Corleone) comes from in the Godfather saga: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vito_Corleone#Early_years
Your small hometown is probably the most famous town in Sicily because of these films alone. If you haven't seen those films, watch them, they're great.
It's not about the film, Corleone is where the "Cosa Nostra" born, Salvatore (Totò) Riina was born in Corleone, and he was one of the, if not THE ONE, most cruel Godfather of Cosa Nostra. It's a Real thing, not just a film :)
(Cosa Nostra is the mafia family in Sicily, the first and the most cruel mafia family)
His accent is as fascinating as his cooking.
Oh man i've never seen someone cook with that much emotion. Cant stop watching these damn videos
My mouth is watering 😋🤤
Same!!!!
And those days you hate on Jamie Oliver recepies etc
i believe this is the food video on youtube that made me tear up.
Every week I cook a great pot of ragu, always different, always delicious. The main ingredient is LOVE. One cannot cook without love, it's essential to make people happy with your cooking, that's what makes me happy in return. It's about love, sharing, and family traditions. This is why I like Gennaro.
Watching him make that ragu was awesome enough. When he got the homemade pasta involved, it turned into a spiritual experience. I've got to try this
I love how the food is such an emotional experience for you. I prepare food with love like my grandma did and it makes me feel like she's with me.
I wish I had the capacity for such emotional depth, it looks like a beautiful thing
She is 💖
I love Gennaro, food is a way of life. It's passion, and a damn find way to reach someone's soul no matter what the circumstances! Genarro's videos inspire me immensely to cook, and I thank him for that immensely.
"pork makes everything tasting good"... You sir are a genius.

this video is so touching. It left me speachless. Food brings people together, food brings back memories. Gennaro is such a wonderful man. Gennaro, i can only say to your mother, bless her soul. =D
I think I learned to be positive and a better person by watching this video. Cheers Generro!
This video kinda made me tear up. I love that there are people like him in the world.
I got a little teary eyed when he talked about it bringing back memories. I had the same feeling.

WOW. So much passion. Now I'm starving!!
my heart was beating while watching it. it filled my heart with joy
This man is the epitome of Italian cooking. This video literally brought tears to my eyes thinking of my own family and all of the memories shared over family dinner. The exact reason why I love cooking so much
Hey Gennaro, there is actually something called cooking wine, it's what you drink while cooking.
I always end up drinking some of whatever alcohol I cook with. Good stuff
@@carlosm3895 it's actually illegal not too.
@@carlosm3895 Ill use a cup of wine for cooking and then end up drinking the entire bottle
Good one.
Love this guy...the wine you drink is the wine you cook! He's so passionate about cooking and puts love into it. Never a dull moment.
Gennaro, your passion and the way you explain it, really touch my emotions. Oh my!
dear Genaro, thanks for your love for life and food. Cooking with you helped me re-finding joy after a very hard time in my life. Thanks and lots of love from Brazil.
Gennaro you are like my dream grandfather! Love you so much. Amazing recipes! Cheers from Czech republic!!
genaro u brought tears to my eyes with your memories! that dish and your kitchen look amazing!
Such a wonderful memories. A food makes us remembering someone beloved. It makes me cry
My wife made this dish and it was absolutely great!! One huge problem was that we loved it so much that it was gone with a quickness!! If you haven't tried this recipe I definitely recommend it!! He did it very quickly and made it look so simple I think because he has done it countless times, but when my wife cooked this, it took quite a bit of time and took multiple steps to get it all done. Gennaro is a culinary genius, though. I cannot deny that.
'What is cooking wine? Colored water?' Gennaro is keeping it 💯
Genarro is so adorable. I love when people are passionate about their cooking.
Gennaro's cooking is like storytelling to me...I get so drawn in and I want to see how beautiful things turn out in the end! Especially in this episode with the connection to his mother's cooking, it really makes you see cooking in a different way.
Watching him cook....is just so organic. So pleasant. It brings people back to simpler times, to just cooking for the simple enjoyment of the food. Anyways, I gave this recipe a try, and it was a hit. Thank you for providing this beautiful content to us! I absolutely could watch him cook for hours.

Gennaro, I love your passion at cooking. Every time I watch your videos is like watch art being made. You are a treasure like Michelangelo. Thank you for your videos and the love and passion you put on it. Grazie dall'America
How do you ever try and replace men like this in life? When he is gone, who will step in his place?
gahloot
That is not possible, sorry.....
+gahloot Kind of like me, i can;t be replaced.
+Christopher Hitchens :(
+gahloot, I'm not sure, but I SO HOPE that they are still out there! He is the epitome of CLASS, Old-World Charm and Sophistication! A TYPE of person that is a dying breed--very sadly...
Heaven gets a new head chef when that happens.
He is cooking with so much love. He always does, but his emotions and love for food really came out in this video.

Why doesn't this beautiful, artistic chef have his own television show?
He's got that "Two Italians..." thing going.
a great meal always helps with a crappy day
such a beautiful video, brings me to tears
A 5 minute video - And more exciting to watch than virtually Anything that has come out of Hollywood in the last 20 years. Bravo!
I loooooooooooooooooooooove you Gennaro!!
haha "what is cooking wine? colored water?" agree. i've used both and cooking wine has much less effect
what is a good wine that you can get in a supermarket that compliments this kind of dish
AH17293 as long as you like to drink it, you'll be fine
AH17293 I use a fairly strong wine. Try a Merlot or Malbec! A good Chianti is also great!
AH17293 I use a nice Durif for this dish, but a good Merlot will suffice.
AH17293 See my other long comment dude.
i love the italian food!and the landscape is just great!!!
What a beautiful cookery sequence …how can you not love Gennaro?
Gennaro, I love you...
after watching this, suddently i found the meaning of life...
Is it just me or is that kitchen setting so Nostalgic that it gets you teary. Beautiful food.
This guy is so passionate about his cooking, you can almost smell the food with every word he speaks. That's Poetry! Love it!!!
This is breaking my heart. I want my family back!
Gosh, I hate to admit it, but I was getting a little frog in my throat when I heard his mum made it and then he said ,"Do you want some?". And I don't know about you, but he looks a bit like a holy man if you look deep inside his eyes after that, but in food. It is almost comforting and heartwarming to look into.
Gosh, this is what you think when you are a sensitive person! Anyone know how I am feeling?
watch it only when not hungry!!! wonderful! thank you!
This gentlemans passion for cooking is just wonderful.
why did I cry?
I've made this....it is really good.
Towards the end...the way his voice lowers to a whisper and he kisses his own hand...you know Gennaro has achieved blissful perfection
I love the Amalfi coast; the local people grow fresh food everywhere and it is a beautiful place to visit.
yeas papa Gen , I do want some
So Gennaro, Jamie, I made this dish last weekend- I have been deep into traditional italian cooking for many years. The only modifications I did were that I used Chianti wine, san marzano tomatoes, bucatini noodles and dried oregano (taken from the stem) in the sauce. Just amazing- really worth making. That slow cooking really pays off with all the meat falling apart.
