That’s a pretty simplistic analysis. Didn’t Fury get dropped 4 or 5 times by Wilder? Fury likes to put all of his weight on his opponents to wear them down. That might not work in this case. The fighter who can work on Fury inside might have the opportunity to defeat Fury, or at least make it interesting. Also, the fighter who can grapple with Fury might have greater success. We all know Fury likes to slobber all over his opponents. Fury is overrated. Let’s see Fury fight Joyce. And no, I’m not a Wilder fan. Just looking for Fury to truly challenge himself. Wilder knows his range much better, is clearly the better boxer, and is used to the ring, gloves, rules, instincts, etc. As a mma practitioner that switched to boxing for a period of time it is very different when in the ring the defensive side is the most difficult to adapt to, range is different since there’s only punches to worry about, everything from the stance, movement, blocking/parrying all has to be adapted to and he can’t close the gap in a short period of time.

Im not saying Francis is an experienced boxer, but he knows how to box. He trained boxing for at least a year and slept in his gym. And imho Cardio is a thing that you could get up easily until the summer. Dont forget that he doesnt need to cut weight too. He can just plan his training camp so that he is in peak condition on the spot. No weight cutting phase where you lose some performance. He could also come out calm and calculated like in the fight with Derrick Lewis.
