Putting hopper down with a block gap makes you lose more to lava, if you put them directly under the cobbles there is less chance that the cobble will be burnt by lava, also I always perefer using a water logged leaves so the water doesn't flow but still works as a cobblestone generator. And you should also break the block that prevents you reaching for the 5th cobble to make it a block longer which is needed if you have a fast pickaxe. Cool video tho. Good luck.
