After publishing this song they stopped by in some IKEA stores in different countries during the first leg of their european tour for a "eat & greet" with the fans :)
"Can I ... ask why Odin has a Santa's hat on?" Sure! Cause there is a well establised theory that actually Santa Claus character is actually based on Odin legends :)
It's a fact. Odin is the original "santa claus" with his big white beard, hat, and gray robes. One of Odin's other names is "Father Yule". He used to fly over the lands on his eight-legged horse Sleipner with his two raven helpers who told him who had been good and who had been bad. This holiday was later hijacked by christianity in order to make it easier to convert those who still believed in the pagan faith. In fact, in Scandinavia, "christmas" is still called "yule"; a name that still references Odin instead of Jesus. Santa is also, traditionally, dressed in gray robes instead of the Coca Cola red robes. The image of Odin was later adopted by the dutch into "Sinterklaas" who had to african children as his helpers instead of two black ravens. Coca Cola then took this image and created the modern santa claus, with his helpers representing the ravens, and the eight reindeers pulling the sled representing the eight legs of Odin's horse.
An easily missed pun, 'Falegn-Amen' is a mix of the italian word 'falegname' (which is 'carpenter') and 'Amen'. Also, 'Trading Places' on the tv is another pun because here in Italy it's basically a tradition to have the movie broadcast on a major channel on TV every Christmas Day.
Errore mio. You are right, the thing is, I haven't been interested in Christmas movies for more than 20 years (in my time it was 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' the movie they always played during Christmas holidays) and for 'Trading Places' I went with the NOTION that it was our Christmas movie in these last decades - but I haven't watched it in a long time so I didn't really know if it was played specifically on Christmas Day. My bad.
Odin has a Santa hat on because Santa was partially based off of him! The christians allowed the Norse/germanic pagans to incorporate their Yule festivities into Christmas if they agreed to convert. Santa’s reindeer are based off of sleipnir, Odin’s eight legged horse :) The jolly ol st Nick part was added later.
At Ikea the pencils are free so you can write down what you like. And a while ago news broke that they had found horse meat in Ikea meatballs. This people are very smart and hilarious.
Viking Gospel song! Love it! Made for Christmas release - so the hat! Odin was called "Sky-father" and "All-father" - so is the Aussie Aborignal Creator - Baiame!..... Ora pro nobis! LOL!
Master of IKEA - OMG ROFL.... sooooo good!!! At IKEA they are famous for their Köttbullar, a special kind of meatballs, originally made of reindeer (but I am not sure of that). Also, you can get short pencils and paper everywhere to write down what you want to shop. Those pencils are beloved souvenirs of the IKEA trip.
Köttbullar is just the swedish word for meatballs. I doubt they originally made them from reindeer, since we borrow the meatballs from Turkey. You can make them with reindeer, but usually beef or a mix of beef and pork is used (unless you want to cut corners like IKEA and use horseameat).
@@Patbythesea here in Italy horse meat is very common, I heard they used racing horses's meat, which is not safe like the ones grown to become edible meat.
Now they have done a new album and three new amazing videos. So given your appreciation for them, I suggest you to check Winterstorm in the Night, Disco Metal and Pasadena 1994. In that order. I’m still laughing.
Great reaction man. Let me just suggest to you to go back and find the part of the video where "the faithful" first pulls out Odin's "holy text", showing how to assemble a ship and the listed required tools.
I don't think I saw a Eskimo Callboy reaction on your channel yet. I really suggest checking out their video to "Hypa Hypa". Should be right up your alley. 😁
Saturnalia is not Nordic, is Roman, it's literally in the name "Saturn" and yes you can draw parallels between both mythologies but they are not the same.
Her: *"He's probably still worrying about what's gonna happen at the business meeting tomorrow morning..."* Him: *"Kisha Grey is better than Sasha Grey."*
Nanowar of Steel, italian pride :3

And a couple of years ago there was a big scandal that in "Köttbullar" was horses meat, thats where the "horse-meatballs" come in

In the end there's a genial double sense: falegn-amen, a mix between falegname (carpenter in italian) and amen! Lol

"Why you're singing for the pencils"
You've never been to (at least European) IKEA, did you? ;)
he also doesn't to get the reference that at one point they were just reading listings from the Ikea brochure (as if they were reading the Bible).
Ah, the memories. As a kid you always used to come home from IKEA with a pocket full of little pencils since they were free.
