Thanks Mike, I just bought a used VM100 that needs this done to it. I had to change the spindle adapter from 1” to 1.25”, which was an easy job, but I’ve been a little hesitant about doing more than an outside wipe down with a rag with acetone on it. That helped, but it needs the thorough cleaning and relube you demonstrated. Thanks for the timely video. Cheers, Tom
Thanks Mike for a wonderful tutorial. My chucks are in need of a good cleaning. Time to get started.
excellent content. beginning to end detailed instructions.
Another outstanding video. As has been said in some other videos, this is what UA-cam is for! I'm glad your chuck gest debris and "crap" in it and you're willing to call it that. ;-)
Very nice. Another great video thanks for the information.
Thanks goes out to Vicmarc. After re-assembling the chuck, I found an extra screw. Thanks, Vicmarc!
Mike slummin' today. 😂😂😂
Mike - excellent video - thanks
Wait a minute... you just rough turned a few hundred green bowls? Ouch! :)
If you have one available, do you recommend using an ultrasonic cleaner?
Ultrasonic cleaner would be a great way to go! -Mike 😊
When changing jaws, Record Power recommends snugging the screws, then closing the jaws completely, then tightening the screws. Is that just a Record Power thing, or is it a good idea for all chucks? (I have one RP and three VM.)
Good tip. Thanks
I could see that being beneficial. Good tip! -Mike 😊
Way too much grease.
