The ones in my garden didn't liked bananas either. But after introducing some banana chips to them, they are crunching them first, even though they have almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds, or whatever it may be, laid with them together.

The Squirrels that visit us don't eat bananas, but have eaten red grapes and apples, and they love avocados. It is awesome to watch them eat avocados in the shell and see how they hold the shell and get the "avocado nose" 😃

@@Squirrels_at_the_window I got the idea from watching Seymour the Squirrel on UA-cam. He was one of the most adorable Squirrels. Watching them eat an avocado in the shell will be one of the best eating experiences you will witness. It is a delicacy for them. Cut it in half lengthwise and remove the pit and serve it in halves or cut in additionally in 1/3 or 1/4 slivers lengthwise like a watermelon. Enjoy!
Yes squirrels eating avocado is the cutest. Or chunky peanut butter…they make a mess and they dont care!
Gotta remember that avocado peels are toxic as well as the pits.

My squirrels gobble them up. They love them.
I know they like pumpkins, they get drunk on the fermenting pumpkins in my neighborhood every year around Halloween.
I never fed my squirrels pumpkin but I'm planning to try it out pretty soon to see if they will like it.

I have red squirrels. They love banana slices with peanut butter on them. They don't like banana on it's own, but with peanut butter spread, they will happily eat the whole thing.

If they are sensitive to rotten nuts without opening them, they probably perceive these bananas as overripe, or rotten. Maybe green bananas?

I feed about 4 squirrels that come in my yard. I feed them peanuts every day multiple times a day and I give them freshwater in two different bowls. I tried to give them strawberries today and they would not eat them. I was surprised because I read online that they will eat strawberries.🤷🏼♀️

Lol , the squirrels that come to my porch did the same thing , even when i put the thin sliced bananas on top of their walnuts , they just take the bananas right off of their walnuts and spit it out on the floor they even did the same with vegetables too.........who knows maybe they are just like some people that dont like the texture of certain foods
Lol I tried this as well as other fruits.... it was apparently offensive to my squirrel friend as he chirped angrily, and didn't come back for a few days. Cinnamon raisen bagel 🥯 pieces and the bird feed is what he loves. Lol cheeky little beggars ❤😊

I love my family of squirrels who I feed peanuts and nuts. I can tell who some are by their lost fur patches - probably from accidents, one looks pregnant, and one has half a tail who I feel especially sorry for..

I fed the squirrels daily. I have to warn them into the trees when my Labrador goes out. They are so atlectic.
I feed a lot of squirrels! All of my squirrels are really healthy and eat fruits and vegtables. Pancake literally eats everything I give her so I know for sure she'll eat bananas. Scar loves fruits and vegetables so she'll eat it as well! I'm not sure about Cutie as she is picky and also moody. Shadow will eat only apples and walnuts. Red will eat bananas. Peeko will eat it.

My squirrels generally won't eat anything except peanuts, or at least if there are peanuts out there they just ignore everything else.
