In regard to the story about Marina, I'm surprised they never mentioned whether or not they questioned Toby's wife. Surely she could be a suspect in her disappearance considering marina and toby were having a somewhat intimate relationship behind her back. I would think that if she did have anything to do with her disappearance, it would of been out of jelousy.
None of them sounded like they had guns either. I'm so glad I live in a country where its legal to carry to defend yourself. I guarantee you it wouldn't have gotten that far once the assailants were on the side of a pistol.
Guns that would be illegally obtained by said criminals but there are instances where shootings were stopped by law abiding gun owners. Its better to have one than be a sitting duck. Thus, why we have the amendment to be able to protect ourselves and others.

A bat is not a very good weapon. If you find yourself on the momentum end of one, get as close to the person wielding it as possible. And then poke em in the eye 😜
I felt very similar. Like it sounded like a pretty big party and what only like 3-4 guys with bats stole all those peoples things and no one did anything? I get being drunk came into play. But was there not DD or a couple people who like to fight when they were drunk? Idk seems weird to me
God that second story was gut-wrenching. My sister had a friend who did that with drain cleaner, but she didn't get noticed fast enough to save hrr life. I'm so glad the friend ended up okay. RIP Sydney❤️

That's exactly what I was thinking! It seems to me they could have set her up, maybe Toby was on the phone with her in order to distract her from the wife's attack. He could've lied about her last words that was meant to implicate the ex boyfriend. And it's not a far fetched theory at all, we've heard about many cases where couples kill the "other woman/man."
@H S Additionally, why would a man invite his mistress to a party, right when the wife just found out about their affair? Presumably, the man would be at that party with his wife, right? That doesn't make sense to me.
I thought that for a second too but as more I thought about it... I think it was 'the car ride home' that was fatal for her. Bc think about it... the body was obviously searched really fast in the nearby area... so I think there was a car involved that brought the body far away right after the crime. .. while people are searching and investigating the wrong persons like her ex and Tonys family.... giving this the person which gave her a ride enough time to even return to the body if not disposed right .... and dispose the body as he wished properly.

It's a bad idea to have rowdy 'open door' type parties without even some form of basic security. Loud, drunken parties with loads of people are prime magnets for trouble. Those thugs were allowed to ransack the house and viciously assault innocents as no-one knew how to stop them.

Why was sgt Phillips alone. Where was his battle buddy. As someone who’s spouses as been deployed 4 times I know this man should not have been wondering around alone anywhere and the fact the other guys let him go alone is odd. Your battle buddy goes everywhere with you but there was not mention of his buddy at all it’s weird.

I live in Melbourne and was amused to hear the descriptions about Pakenham, sounded like the place to be. To be fair I’ve never been there to judge but it’s basically a suburb that is the last stop on the train line, probably like an hour from anywhere convenient, and the mansions mentioned are probably cheaply built new estate houses where people that can’t afford large houses anywhere where you actually would want to live
Marina seems to have been terribly let down by her family. Such a sad tale when a person is trying to get their life together and their family keeps dragging them down. Hope she rests in peace. And the child grows up safe and loved.
99% certain the 1st story is in Liverpool; students in the Georgian quarter, lads, “like”, bouncer, “cracking” the can open, “bloody confused”, “not gonna go round”, mates/mate, fellas/fella, daft, “leg it” - it’s all very Scouse and so unusual (or “proper mad” as a Scouser would say) hearing in a different accent lol!
