Tbh I think Crystal Palace caught everyone off guard, they had a small rebuild with a lot of experienced players getting released and then an unproven manager but you gotta give credit job to Palace and Vieira, they made some smart signings
That Patrick Vieira comment was very accurate. He managed to extract amazing capabilities out of Palace's players. No one anticipated Palace to do so well given their initial squad.

Well yes, I do apologize, I also didn't think Arsenal are going to make it this far. But your points became true and you were right. A bit on CFC as a Chelsea fan - Chelsea have been so dissapointing in the season, especially second half. You mentioned the defence, but I don't think that was the main reason. The key word for me is consistency. I thought we will give City a run for their money on the title, I still thought they will win it and more comfortably than they did in reality... but I thought it's gonna be Liverpool and Chelsea battling for the 2nd place and for a while we were, but then we fell off big time. Losing to some "weak" teams and for what? Lukaku has been disappointing of course, but I had hope for Timo's scoring ability, which it didn't improve that much again. So without any real threat upfront we were just toothless. We showed we can still play as the best team, Liverpool haven't won against us in full time this season, just to penalties both times, played close game with City; best example has to be the two games against Madrid. The first game was absolutely terrible, so many individual mistakes and it was costly and second leg? We absoutely dominated Madrid, could have been like 5-0 in the first half alone and if not for simply amazing ball from Modric and questionable VAR decision, we would go trough. Actually in Premier league we finished the whole season without losing at Half-Time in any game and we still finished so far behind MFC and LFC, because we were absolutely inconsistent. When Chilwell and James got injured we struggled to find some game plan to substitue their presence, etc.

That year Utd only got 79pts their second to lowest finish when winning a title. I think as a villa fan. Bailey was injured to much and the was disruption throughout the season felt like we couldn't settle on a formation and best 11. That did have an impact. Also a lot of sides kept doing well and taking points off one another
Fair play to you for the Arsenal shout; some people don't really have a full understanding of football, so the grief you would have got in the first few weeks has bitten them, and rightly so! I think as long as the managers stay a bit more consistent next season you'll bag a sub-50 score.

You should score it as you start with 114 points (38 games x 3 points) and then every position difference is subtracted. So you would have finished on 56 points this year and have qualified for the Conference League
As a Leeds fan I knew we'd fall off after the first season but I really wasn't expecting it to be this bad. Bar a couple of players our recruitment has been very poor.
Great vid! But you clearly don't watch Messi play, they're not even comparable. Messi was shocked that he had to move to PSG at the last second, and he's clearly not motivated in that team, at the same time he is still killing it for Argentina. If Ronaldo hadn't been at United other players would've scored the goals that he's scoring. You can't, with a straight face, say that United would've been fighting mid-table with a -20 goal score without Ronaldo.

everyone seems to forget that tottenham got knocked out the uefa conference league after playing their b team in 5 group games, so they also had no european football as well as arsenal allowing them to do so well with minimal injuries
I always have high expectations for Chelsea but this is the first season that my expectations were warranted in the end we finished so far off second because of situations off the pitch in previous seasons it was the lack of quality on the pitch so things are getting better for us but we won't catch city and Liverpool anytime soon
Rangnick isn’t even sticking around as a consultant anymore. Guy saw what a shambles the club was behind the scenes and decided it wasn’t going to change, so he dipped. Fair play to him. United are shambolic
The reason why we (Chelsea) didn't win the league wasn't all because of our starting 11. We had both of our main wingbacks injured who are our 2 of our most important players and arguably the best wingbacks in the world when they're inform, we also had huge off the pitch drama with the stupid sanctions, which meant we couldn't always have a full home crowd which didn't help our home record.
Villa’s biggest issue this season was a lack of defensive midfielder. Douglas Luiz is not a DM, never has been. But he’s been played there about 80% of the season. Defence was constantly exposed and cost a lot of silly mistakes. Kamara will change this. His signing alone will propel villa easily to top half. Carlos coming in too helps stop those silly goals. Expect an easy extra 10 or so points to get picked up just from that defensive strengthening

I saw internationals last evening. Im norwegian so naturally i follow Norway's National Football Team. I know this is about premier league tho ,lol. Anyways, my country hasnt qualified for the euros or the world cup since euros 2000. My point is that i have started to root for the underdogs and teams i feel an identity from. In other words i appreciate fotball as a whole and not only certain teams/players. Obviously we are not a big national team like England, Spain etc. But for me it's not about only succes but loyalty and identity. Basically you can choose a club , to a certain degree atleast , depending on traditions and friends etc. But you dont choose a national team to support . It's basically an unwritten rule in football. Of course you can choose which national team to support if you feel that is right. But nontheless it's something special to cheer on for Norway. I just like that we have that common goal as a footballing nation to reach tournaments. We are not Brazil. But we really appreciate when we do qualify because it's not a given. Just my two cents on case of national team support. by the way, Norway won against Sweden last night , which shows Norway's evolution. 😀🇧🇻🇧🇻🇧🇻
Just one little correction/comment: Ralph Ragnick will not take a consultant role at United in the upcoming season as both he and the Austrian Football National team feared that his duties would clash and impact his work with said national team
I think that for each team you would get right going down, right on the top 4 or right winning the championship, you should get less (better) -2 points or something

Its so hard to see any other team challenging a healthy Man City & Liverpool at the top. Both those teams are just insane. Teams to keep an eye on for next year for me are Newcastle with the Saudis now having the summer to bring in their targets, ManU w/ the Ten Hag & Ragnick partnership, the 4 London clubs (Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham) duking it out for the UCL, UEL, UECL & who i see as the two biggest overperformers this year of Brighton & Brentford and their potential regression down the table
To mention Greenwood to explain United but not the whole owner situation to explain chelsea is very harsh / we were top of the league for a long while people tend to forget that
60 points, 7 teams placed exact or within 1 point, teams that hurt me the most were Leeds, Everton and Palace, all other 10 teams were then 2-4 places out. Best predictions were at the top and bottom of table, mid table most difficult to keep points down. I did have 13 teams all within 6 points of predicted points, pretty happy with my attempt. Feel like 50-60 points is the achievable range, above 60 not so good, above 70 is poor, under 50 is great, if anyone gets under 40 thats amazing.

You should score it as you start with 114 points (38 games x 3 points) and then every position difference is subtracted. So you would have finished on 56 points this year and have qualified for the Conference League
As a Leeds fan I knew we'd fall off after the first season but I really wasn't expecting it to be this bad. Bar a couple of players our recruitment has been very poor.

Great vid! But you clearly don't watch Messi play, they're not even comparable. Messi was shocked that he had to move to PSG at the last second, and he's clearly not motivated in that team, at the same time he is still killing it for Argentina. If Ronaldo hadn't been at United other players would've scored the goals that he's scoring. You can't, with a straight face, say that United would've been fighting mid-table with a -20 goal score without Ronaldo.

everyone seems to forget that tottenham got knocked out the uefa conference league after playing their b team in 5 group games, so they also had no european football as well as arsenal allowing them to do so well with minimal injuries
I always have high expectations for Chelsea but this is the first season that my expectations were warranted in the end we finished so far off second because of situations off the pitch in previous seasons it was the lack of quality on the pitch so things are getting better for us but we won't catch city and Liverpool anytime soon

The reason why we (Chelsea) didn't win the league wasn't all because of our starting 11. We had both of our main wingbacks injured who are our 2 of our most important players and arguably the best wingbacks in the world when they're inform, we also had huge off the pitch drama with the stupid sanctions, which meant we couldn't always have a full home crowd which didn't help our home record.

Villa’s biggest issue this season was a lack of defensive midfielder. Douglas Luiz is not a DM, never has been. But he’s been played there about 80% of the season. Defence was constantly exposed and cost a lot of silly mistakes. Kamara will change this. His signing alone will propel villa easily to top half. Carlos coming in too helps stop those silly goals. Expect an easy extra 10 or so points to get picked up just from that defensive strengthening

I saw internationals last evening. Im norwegian so naturally i follow Norway's National Football Team. I know this is about premier league tho ,lol. Anyways, my country hasnt qualified for the euros or the world cup since euros 2000. My point is that i have started to root for the underdogs and teams i feel an identity from. In other words i appreciate fotball as a whole and not only certain teams/players. Obviously we are not a big national team like England, Spain etc. But for me it's not about only succes but loyalty and identity. Basically you can choose a club , to a certain degree atleast , depending on traditions and friends etc. But you dont choose a national team to support . It's basically an unwritten rule in football. Of course you can choose which national team to support if you feel that is right. But nontheless it's something special to cheer on for Norway. I just like that we have that common goal as a footballing nation to reach tournaments. We are not Brazil. But we really appreciate when we do qualify because it's not a given. Just my two cents on case of national team support. by the way, Norway won against Sweden last night , which shows Norway's evolution. 😀🇧🇻🇧🇻🇧🇻

Just one little correction/comment: Ralph Ragnick will not take a consultant role at United in the upcoming season as both he and the Austrian Football National team feared that his duties would clash and impact his work with said national team

Its so hard to see any other team challenging a healthy Man City & Liverpool at the top. Both those teams are just insane.
Teams to keep an eye on for next year for me are Newcastle with the Saudis now having the summer to bring in their targets, ManU w/ the Ten Hag & Ragnick partnership, the 4 London clubs (Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham) duking it out for the UCL, UEL, UECL & who i see as the two biggest overperformers this year of Brighton & Brentford and their potential regression down the table
To mention Greenwood to explain United but not the whole owner situation to explain chelsea is very harsh / we were top of the league for a long while people tend to forget that

60 points, 7 teams placed exact or within 1 point, teams that hurt me the most were Leeds, Everton and Palace, all other 10 teams were then 2-4 places out. Best predictions were at the top and bottom of table, mid table most difficult to keep points down. I did have 13 teams all within 6 points of predicted points, pretty happy with my attempt. Feel like 50-60 points is the achievable range, above 60 not so good, above 70 is poor, under 50 is great, if anyone gets under 40 thats amazing.
