The CAN TCU is not for your swap, should have bought the Turbolamik If you miss the clutch that is!??
I don't see the point if having clutch pedal in automatic. Why not just stay manual then 😅 I didn't say I miss the clutch. I meant that I don't like automatics because those have been really shit to drive over the years. Untill 8HP came out.
@@pazi88 OK, yep.. Fair enough. I've done the same swap a year ago with the 8HP90 to 2J in a E36 and the only thing I miss about the manual is the H patter nostalgia! 8HP holds more power shifts faster, and I have a combo of Auto, Sequential and paddle shifter, will never go back to manual! Plus Clutch by wire is super fun for doing powerskids, yes I'm Aussie lol
@@BUZDRIFT I still have my E30 turbo with manual and it will stay like that 😄 Manual is way more fun, especially on overly powerful car like that. But this will be more like Time Attack car, so fast shifting auto should work great, and no need for clutch in that.
You made it better!!!
I just did the 8hp to my e46.
So much better.
@@MrJamesshipman Well better is quite vague thing, so it depends who you ask 😅 But yeah it's really good. I know it would be great, but it has been even better than I expected. Totally transformed the car and it's faster than it has ever been.
@@pazi88 that was the experience with my E46. Also using cantcu. The amount of drive loss from the old transmissions is so much more noticeable when you go to the 8hp.
And you can add a clutch pedal if you want the manual driving experience.
I want to swap my e46, any info you have would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏽
@CharlesExtrom what engine are you adapting or sorry? What engine do you have in your E46?
If you get the n20 transmission, it is a direct Bolton to the E46.
It's the exact same length size, just about everything. And even the drive shafts match up perfectly.
You need a 6 HP. Z4 transmission cross member.
I use the n54 8 bolt Flex plate.
And the n55 torque converter.
I have to look up the part number on the flex plate bolts because the original Factory bolts do not work at all.
@CharlesExtrom I was going to make a entire like, E46 fanatics, post about everything I haven't done it yet, though.
Ahh, we're gonna have to wait more for the next part!
Suomalainen rallienglanti on näköjää vielä hauskemman kuulosta ku laittaa toistonoppeuden -05x 😂
😂
Wby cantcu, ot turbolamik?
Depends on your use. If it's more street the cantcu is a great set up. If you want to retain your clutch pedal and have clutch kicks and use trans brake for launches the Lamik is the only option for that.
Both are excellent products though and work very well out the box.
@@turbowankel1264i currenty working very similar setup (b28tu, ms43, 8hp45 and turbolamik tcu on my e46) and im very exited how its gonna work. ;)
Hahahaha so true about Autodoc videos
On muuten varmaan kesällä makija tuo ulkonosturi
Noh. Talvella kylmä siinä ja kesällä kuuma ja hyttysiä 😅 Mut tuolla sisällä ei riitä korkeus katossa, niin nosturi on sit hallin puolella mitä ei oo eristetty mitenkään.
sorry about your upcoming left leg amputation? lol
Luckily my e30 gives my twice the clutch leg workout 😁
Auto>manual
What about with M20b25 pazi? On megasquirt 2?
I also have option to go Fueltech Ecu for cheap
MS2 isn't supported, but the MS3 and Fueltech are on experimental phase for the CANTCU.
@@pazi88 thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.
Ugh cars are so overwhelming for the overthinker!
I’m starting to lean in the side of keeping my E30 with the m20 turbo and eventually building a forged m20 as initially intended
But this 8hp is very amazing. I’m considering finding an iron block m52b28 E39 and going the turbo route with a 8hp haha…..it’s just you only live once and BMW is very hard to move on from 😆
