Thank you very much for your attention! It brings me joy to continue producing videos for my followers and for those who have given a thumbs up. I always strive to seek and verify the accuracy of information.
Unfortunately, there are UA-cam videos circulating that either intentionally or accidentally disseminate false information. These videos come from many countries, and some even promote paid services, urging viewers to call premium rate numbers. I prefer not to point out any specific nationalities, but it is regrettable that in some cases, these videos involve compatriots of some of my followers. I mention this to ensure no one loses money believing they are receiving accurate information, which they might use, for example, to apply to educational institutions.
Please be cautious, everyone, and make an effort to verify information through official sources if the promises seem too good to be true. I also strive to use and share information from official websites as a reliable source.
The biggest misconception is also with the term "vocational school / vocational college," which is not a university in Finland, but it does provide a pathway to apply for universities of applied sciences or universities. In practice, most of those who complete vocational college go on to a university of applied sciences. Meanwhile, the majority of those who graduate from high school go on to a university, and both UAS (Universities of Applied Sciences) and universities are considered institutions of higher education in Finland.

@fakiyafemi4101 If it is a requirement in the selection criteria, then it should be mandatory. In some jobs, it is considered an advantage but not mandatory.

Sir, are there universities that offers admission to international students that have interest in coming to Finland to learn only Finish language?

    • @JohnofFinland291
      @JohnofFinland291  3 місяці тому

@JESUSCHRISTISLORD3510 Studying in Finland through summer courses, such as Finnish language and culture studies at summer universities or other institute-organized courses, is a good way to familiarize oneself with the country and its language. Typically, these courses offer a comprehensive package that includes not only instruction but also accommodation and possibly other culture-related activities.
As for residence permits based on studying, short-term study in Finland, such as attending summer courses, usually does not require a residence permit if the course lasts less than 90 days. However, individuals from outside the EU should take note of visa regulations.

    John
Once again am Chris from Nigeria

I wish you and your family luck and success. Lapland is really cold, but we dress very well. Moreover, our homes and buildings are well-insulated and warm even in winter.
In winter, there are many more tourists in Lapland than local residents. In autumn, tourists from Finland and German-speaking countries arrive. Although there are still quite a few tourists in the summer, the nature is incredibly beautiful then. Imagine the sun not setting at all, shining 24/7.
In winter, depending on how far north you are, you might not see the sun for 2 to 52 days. During this time, you can enjoy the Northern Lights and shooting stars.

Now I understand, and it's true that many companies look for employees from Finland or the European area. This is due to EU regulations or laws. Employers must first search locally, and if no suitable candidates are found, then the company can apply for permission to hire from elsewhere.
Industries facing labor shortages and many companies in Lapland can hire workers from all over the world. The process can sometimes be slow, lasting 1-3 months to my knowledge. This is why I made a video about Lapland. Even if a company wants to hire you, you might not necessarily get a work permit.
However, there are companies and sectors that also hire from outside. Generally speaking, I would advise against applying for jobs that require proficiency in Finnish or that specifically ask for applicants who already have a work permit in Finland or reside here.

      Job Application Tips for Finland
Applying multiple times is common. Here are some tips:
1.Research: Look online for Finnish CV examples.
2.Application: Be concise, address the job ad, and highlight relevant strengths.
      Avoid in Your CV:
      1. Personal details (marital status, religion, nationality,
      birth date)
      2. Irrelevant work experience
      3. Long paragraphs
      4. Negative information
      5. Outdated skills
      6. Generic phrases (e.g., “team player”)
      7. Lies or exaggerations
      8. Salary expectations
      9. Unrelated hobbies
      10. Incomplete contact information
A good CV is clear, concise, and job-relevant.

Hello everyone! You also have a great opportunity to apply to several vocational schools in English while you are working seasonally in Lapland.
It’s worth considering this option as well, even if the seasonal work and studies are in different fields.
Did you realize that "Work in Lapland" holds registered trademark status? Ownership of this trademark is held by the Lapland Centre for Economic Development, Transport, and the Environment.

Dear Pili Njala, I have already answered this question for you and my answer is:
"Hi, thanks for your message! I recommend checking out the video “TOP 2 Jobs in Finland! Welders & Press Brake Operators Wanted - Apply Now!” I’ve also created videos about seasonal job opportunities in Lapland. Although those videos don’t include welding positions, you can discover welding job opportunities on some of the same job search websites by changing the search term. Additionally, consider watching the Åland video and using the job search sites mentioned there. Best of luck in your job search in Finland!"
