200 jumps for a camera is absurd in my useless opinion. 100 jumps and a “camera flying course” or “camera rating” should be the rule. B license can jump at night but can’t jump a camera and coaches can’t jump a camera? Antiquated rules.
You may be right, but 200 hundred jumps doesn't seem like much jumping experience. I'd rather think about jumping than about getting footage. I don't need any extra variables to worry about.
@@Jump-n-smash With that same logic, why is a coach rating at 100 a thing? You’re right, 200 jumps isn’t a lot for people that live near a DZ or don’t have other family/life obligations that allow them to get 200 in 6 months. For the rest of us peasants, it might take 3-5 years. Some may never get 200 jumps. I’m also not talking about flying the camera slot, just fun jumping with friends. It makes more sense to just say “No extensions” or “no thumb screw mounts”. Or have approved mounts. IDK, just seems super contradictory to me.
@@mtnman1 I’m just a noob, I don’t have any answers. Anyway, I always thought that in the US you could jump on non-USPA affiliated DZs to bypass their regulations. Is it true?
200 jumps is a suggestion, but not a requirement. A lot of DZs only require 100 jumps. Cameras are a big distraction, and can be a snag hazard. Just stay prepared and blue skies!

@@Jump-n-smash I hear ya, I’m still new as well. Probably but I don’t think there are many DZ’s here that are non USPA affiliated.
