I have been wanting this camera since it came out. A few days ago, I found one on FB marketplace for $3800 with the 35-70 kit lens included (never been used, 0 shutter count). I am over the moon and have been testing, customizing and shooting the daylights out of it since. And my god, the image quality and dynamic range on this camera is incredible. This is my first medium format camera and I am in love with the IQ (even with this kit lens) and the colors coming out of this camera. It is time to retire my trusty A7RV 🙂
@@justcallmebones Had to drive half way into the next state over and was a bit afraid of the "If it's too good to be true..." saying. But the guy bought it 2 months ago and never got around to using it. He is expecting his first child and just needed it gone for some extra cash. I'm also surprised that this GFX 100S II body isn't really any bigger or heavier than my old Nikon Z8.
hey taco, I'm super pumped up about the upcoming smaller size fixed lens gfx camera. I think you might be interested too. If they can pull it off, it would be revolutionary as the first portable medium format camera in history. But I am a bit worried about no-ibis and f4. It will be very limited once the lights gone.
LOL Sorry I kept getting distracted by your Kawasaki shirt, I owned serveral Kawasakis since the late 70's Nice camera, funny I spent years riding and working on motorcycles, then later doing Motorcycle and Automotive media, That camera would have been nice to have when I was photographing motorcycle races, It would definitely be put on tripod. That camera I think would be great for Ad=PR work. LOL I used to laugh I once used Japanese Cameras (Canon, Nikon or Sony) to take pictures of Australian Mat Mladin win USA superbike championships on a Suzuki. I with you I like my knobs, once you get muscle memory on which dial is exposure, aperture and mode it gets to the point you don't even think about it, but I admit I did shoot in Program a lot, the new autofocus systems are so much better , I think manual mode may be going the way Manual Transmissions in car are disappearing.
Hey Take, hope you are well and Happy New Year!!! Amazing review on the GFX 100s II! I was wondering if you are a person that enjoy shooting landscape, cityscape, candid, and street would this be a ideal camera for those use or in general a everyday use camera? Also, for the SD cards, would two SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC Memory Card be enough for this camera? Thanks!
Ah, Hasselblad is like the Rolls Royce of Cameras. Fuji Medium format would be the Jaguar. Both awesome but one just has that cachet that come with the name.
Prices are dropping fast on the GFX100s and 100s II. I have seen like new GFX100s ii sold at $4100 - $4400 this past week. They will average well below $4000 by the end of February. Facebook market, ebay, and even B&H are selling them below $4500. Resell value dropping fast.
You’re all over the place with this video.. You started out saying the naming is confusing and then never really explained it or the difference between the two cameras. Or maybe you did, eventually, but I gave up halfway through.
There is not too much of a technical difference. The 100 II has the ability for a battery grip, tiltable EVF attachment and higher res EVF. The 100S II has the same texture as the 100 II but in a 100S body. Sensor wise and IQ its the same.
That picture in the back of the video really shows its IMAGE QUALITY to the naked eye! It is so beautiful☺

As much as I like the gear talk, I really enjoy seeing you out and about taking photos and your thought process on it too. Love your videos Take!
Having a 100s and an m11 I don’t see the need for the upgrade. But to me this is the best camera on the market, way above Hasselblad
Love all this new bht content! Keep it coming Take :)

gfx100s used for around $2,500 USD can be found. Best value out there.
A very good video. I have the GFX100SII and the 50SII.
Same 😂...I own both
Can't wait to see what that GFX100RF will be!! If it sucks I'll go for the S2 + 55mm1.7😊

Great camera I really enjoy mine with the 500mm 5.6

fuji is great ! but the color corrections are a true killer
Fuji should have given it a CF Express type B card along with an SD card.

Going for $3850 Open Box
Absolutely no reason whatsoever for a novice to purchase a "NEW" one.
Prices are dropping fast on the GFX100s ii. Open box or used ones under $4000 will be common in a couple of months. Shoot film.
