Thank you this was so helpful! I want to be a music major because I feel like I would regret it later if I didn’t. But I’m also scared of not making it, and everyone keeps telling me how unrealistic it is. You just helped me a lot ❤️

Awesome video. Quick question what genre of music did you study at Music School? Was it classical, jazz, or R&B / pop?

I'm currently studying music right now, so i guess i can answer this lol
Most music degrees afaik have a mostly classical focus, but include opportunities to participate in Jazz ensembles and other things of the sort. In my school there isn't much for blues or R&B, and the only pop material is actually an acapella club. If studying classical music sounds boring I promise it's much more interesting than it sounds at first, and the knowledge you gain from it can absolutely be applied in all areas of music.

A degree in Music “Performance” with no specified genre usually refers to classical music. Generally jazz degrees are referred to as “Jazz Performance” or “Jazz Studies”. Also, the way she describes her experience in University and the music careers of her friends (playing in professional orchestras, film scores etc.) also leads me to believe she is a classical musician. Hope this helps
