      I think the production is better, they went into the stories and backgrounds of these guys and the players weren't robots from the online world, they had personality.

      Do you know Chris’s story behind playing? That is what hooked new players. Satellite with his last bank roll and a maxed out credit card, he tried to sell his seat but had no takers so ended up playing. He was terrified to play a hand until he settled into it. His run is well worth rewatching.

    • @colintimp1372

      Technically it was Rounders that caused the boom. If it hadn't been for that movie, online poker wouldn't have taken off like it did; and Moneymaker probably wouldn't have ever been heard of. I started playing in 1999, and cardrooms were pretty full before 2003. They certainly got busier after though. A ton of easy money to be made.

    • @darylmixan8170
      @darylmixan8170 7 місяців тому

      @breakit46 if it was crappy coverage, it wouldn't have mattered, if the 2002 WSOP was filmed like 2003, Robert Valkorni would have been internationally famous in the poker community. I believe Chris Moneymaker's win and story created the ONLINE poker boom.

    If you listen to Joe Hackem, his Australian "How could I?" does sound like "I call" I know he wasn't trying to say it, or angle shoot... (subject change- It would be hard playing a game not 100% knowing the U.S. English language- when the game is $10k and your words words and understanding your opponents words is so important.

    • @CrazeeAdam
      @CrazeeAdam 7 місяців тому

      I guess?? But I clearly heard it, granted we have microphones and what not to catch his voice better, maybe on the table it sounded more like "I call".. his opponent was probably a bit anxious to get that call as well, the dealer and no one else didn't say anything about it though.. which does make me think that it was clear enough that he never said "I call" or anything like it.
