Gran Turismo 4 Enhanced - Revealed Pit Stop for Special Cars

- After near 20 years from Gran Turismo 4 release, we can finally see what happens when doing a pit stop with a "special car"! Normally, the game forces the driver camera as soon as possible the pit crew starts to change the tyres, but now I've removed this restriction, then we can finally see what they are doing. Apart from special cars, also many other cars have this behaviour. All clips had cars with 3d wheels, detailed tyres and driver model, correct per period (before 1980 I use the "old car driver", since normally the only car from '80s and with an open model use the "modern car driver"), plus the Polyphony Digital Formula Gran Turismo and Nissan R89C '89 have Gran Turismo PSP car sounds
NOTE: This build is still in development, the release will not be public in some time due real life things, projects on other games and test of this mod

the fact that three wheeled cars have 3 tire changer people instead of 4, and they chose to hide that detail really upsets me

Yeah, that's a details that I think everyone made upset. It looks even correct, I mean, no broken animations or whatever unlike the Daimler. I don't know that the hell devs made here haha
i don’t think it’s specially made, my guess is, the mechanics are given a set position determined by where they car’s wheels are, so it spawns three of them, and the other one spawns at X0,0 Y0,0 and Z0,0

I think Polyphony coded the pit stop animations universally, instead of creating unique ones per car. Then when they saw the clipping issues on special cars, instead of making new animations for every car (or changing the pit stop animation system), they just hid it from the player.

The anim is the same for all cars. I think postion of pit crew is just defined somewhere in the car file
cars that have the rear wheels covered they just show the front wheels, so it is still a mistery
I changed cameras on purpose to show all the covered wheels
You would think that they would be more gentle with the Model T and Benz Wagons

Yes, I've added driver models to all the cars, plus where possible even 3D wheels (menu car model use a detailed version, while in race are just plain 2D textures) and even detailed tyres
@@Gran.Turismo_Syphon.Filter_Mod nice, i did not know that was possible in GT4, i have no problem with the black shadow driver but this does add more realism, it affects the game perfomance?
@@Orcbolg1234 Nope, no slowdowns even on a real PS2. All the enhancement I've made are perfectly fine even on real hardware
