Law being in the hands of democracy is too risky I think it would be great in the beginning cause it would appear good to the grievances but it will pile up into a mountain ⛰ of deceit for the less favored and power to the people who were favored because you can't turn it around fast enough as you did in a moment of weakness that was hammering you out of your families by splitting up the values held important they'll be too many policies changes because they all want legacy or leave with a record of deeds or contributions but if it's left simply stated as the Constitution Republic being the foundation no one can change deny or violate but then if you don't pass it down to generation's they'll be fooled by other's explanations of it and might change it once people have become blind of it. Then present it as a political campaign like they want you to see it and have it because it was hidden from you like a revelation just to keep control of cronies powers over common sense. That's Mt assessment I could be wrong but if you believe so feel free to correct me. The State's are the Democracy they don't reveal much as the federal government is shown as the central power but you miss what's under your nose and that's the beginning of the end. The local government is the petitioning body to ask the treasury for funds of social programs without regulation or oversight they're lottery winner's and hold them mobster union jobs where they get a check from a company but don't have to actually work and it's on the book's with a job description that seems legit to some processor checking the book's and not actually doing an on-site headcount or whatnot. It's obvious the mob was so organized to influence the government being they sharpened each other over the decades or centuries is possible if you know what I mean.

I don't get why Fukayama does not acknowledge that western imperialism and regime change policies have undermined these countries and ensured a weakened institutions to fight and combat corruption.
@frs 12 Or maybe he thinks that it is a poor excuse in the 21st century, and that the majority of countries are perfectly capable of taking responsability for their own future.

You are implying those holding the position of power are incapable of strengthening institutions and combating corruption coz of western imperialism. Those countries were already corrupt even before the western imperialism.

Francis Fukuyama is trying his best to paper over all the evils and downside of "democracy" with the justification that some form of corruptions can actually lead to Democracy. How crazy can you get? Since his failure with his End Of History thoughts, he just got very confused about everything.
He needs to study the principal of informed consent. He participated in the Neocon project until the 2nd Iraq war then he bailed. He claims that the USA was spreading Democracy by force since the end of WW2. No one told me or my parents. His real agenda is to use the American people as a sacrificial population to spread globalization. This man is a puke.

I find it odd he said merit is needed for a general. Since democracy allows an idiot to be president, why can't the army have an idiot general? What's with the double standards? Mr Fukiyama's logic needs some work.
CoolDoob you misunderstand. “Democracy” didn’t elect trump. The democratic “republic” portion elected him with the electoral college. It is the safe switch to stop democracy by the elite.

People shouldn't treat running a country as a game because that country will be gone. The competency needed to run a country is greater than the competency needed for an army by magnitudes.
