😁👍 I debated showing these details. But I think they are real lessons for real amateur boat builders about how you have to approach spending money and working the component buying process. Many channels don’t ever reach this stage of boat building. They are fake and fool you with paint and grinding. If it can happen to me it can and will happen to you - just like restoring a car, a plane, or a house. 😁 thanks for the support
Great video as always Joe. In the late 1970s I worked for a construction machinery company and that was there first time I heard "You're the only one who's ever complained." Usually it's a lie, but in one case, we were the only ones selling that particular piece of equipment. When I got the chief engineer from the supplier on site it was clear he had no idea what his product was being used for. These days when someone says "we've been doing it this way for xxx years", my response is "that doesn't mean you've done it right yet." Guess I"m cranky in my old age.
Good on ya for sticking with it and calling them out publicly. Let em get mad. Renogy Electronics tried to do me the same. A month of meticulous planning for my trawler’s electrical overhaul, designed around a Renogy inverter/charger. This particular model was advertised on their website AND in the technical manual (complete with schematics) as having an internal automatic neutral to ground bonding switch. A feature required by the ABYC. Got the parts, the cables, did the complete install. Fired it up to test and immediate reverse polarity warning with GFI tripping. Hours of troubleshooting plus hiring a marine electrician to check my work top to bottom. Hours of arguing with Renogy tech just to find out it was an error in their published material. Many more hours arguing for them to not just take it back but pay for my labor and materials. Eventually, everything with a Renogy label was sent back for a full refund, but labor and materials got a “take us to court” response. I applaud your choice in Victron…
I worked in large Apparatus Repair-43yrs. In all jobs I worked at the plant Customer Service was included. I had a boss that was a Freak for providing good customer service--I learned from him and the customers loved us. He retired and his replacements almost prided themselves for BAD customer service. Walked in one day after I retired--the boss was loading his affairs--our primary compeditor had just bought the whole show!!! I very much sympathise with your experience--no one should have to fight for their products and service!?-------Mikey
Wow thats absolute B.S.! I hate dealing with any manufacturers these days, more often it goes like this. I love when they act like your the first problem ever. Classic. Thanks for the warning ✌️
Cardboard edge and corner protectors would go a long way towards protecting the tanks. I get why shipping them in a box would be annoying given they’re doing custom work, but the first shipping method is abysmal.
I guess what you get when going through a distributor is representation for stuff like this because the distributors probably buy thousands from them per year. You’re just a little guy and your $800 means squat to them. Way to keep on them and make them make it right. I’ll try to steer clear of that company if I’m ever in need of a tank.
Bronco probably has a problem with its internal working culture, with employees who do not feel proud of their work, regardless of their position. The guilt lies with top management. Cheers.
BS. In 2024/25 who should have to ask a major manufacturer how they prep items for shipping. At least they did make good and you got a good tank to store your Ronco in.
Their probably making a good product but destroying it trying to save money for them not rapping it correctly and using ell cheapo raj to deliver it , problem is its damaged and they already have your money 😢
Good for you for standing up to the company. Yes that was a hassle. Thank you for showing us what happened!

😁👍It’s surprising how common some of these situations are

Might I recommend- Permatex Ultra Black Gasket Maker…😅
I used this on my diesel fuel tank
Been that way for years. I shipped roto cast tank all over just like that. If it’s damaged we replaced it.
Shame on you 👎😑
I will call Ronco and find out what they intend to do
I’m done with Rocco 👎😑👎
