Unfortunately Selena Quintanilla was murdered by the president of her fan club on March 31, 1995. She was only 23 years old. Yolanda Saldivar was the manager of Selena's boutiques and fan club. She had embezzled 60,000 from both the boutiques and fan club. The Quintanilla family confronted her but she denied everything. Selena was doing taxes and needed important documents that were in Yolanda's possession. On March 31, 1995 Yolanda told Selena to meet her at the Days Inn Motel by herself. Both women argued in the motel room, Selena then said that Yolanda couldn't be trusted and fired her on the spot. Yolanda pulled out a gun. As Selena fled the room, Yolanda shot her once in the lower right shoulder. This severed a major artery causing massive blood loss. Selena ran to the lobby, leaving a trail of blood 392 ft long. She clutched her chest screaming "Help me! Help me! I've been shot!", Saldivar chased after her. Selena collapsed in the lobby, her last words were "Yolanda.......(room) 158". An ambulance arrived in one minute and 55 seconds. They took her to the hospital and made heroic actions to save her life but the damage was irreparable, she was pronounced dead at 1:05 pm (CST). Doctors have said if the bullet had been one millimeter higher or lower, then the wound would be less severe and that she would probably still be alive today. Yolanda had a 9 hour standoff with the police, she threatened to commit suicide. She turned herself in after. She was charged with 1st degree murder. Yolanda Saldivar will be eligible for parole in 2025.

I being born, and raised here in Texas, I knew Selena from a very young age. When she passed, I was 4 but I remember it all. It was such a sad day. Selena was such a hero for all of us. The stories my parents have told me about how before she was famous, she’d come to west Texas and perform at small parties. I remember her coming to Odessa/Midland, Texas and performing. About 2 years ago, I went to a festival called Fiesta de la Flor, which was held in her name, and would have different artists perform her songs, and we’d just remember her legacy. Selena is our forever Texan Queen. We miss her so so much! Thank you for posting these videos, listening to her beautiful voice, and just learning about her.

selena is from texas but her family is mexican hence why she broke out into the music scene with tejana music which is loved by mexicans. she was murdered by a close friend/leader of her fan club shortly after this performance cutting her career which was getting more successful by the day short. it’s a tragedy since now we never know just how much more huge her music could’ve been. however now her impact is huge and she is known by not only the spanish speaking crowd but also americans.
She sadly passed away a month after that concert ...I wish I could of went to that concert if she would of still been alive she would of been 50 years old
No reactor has watched the Selena movie yet, and that will blow up whenever someone does. My first girlfriend was Latina, and she introduced me to Selena. I now know Spanish fluently because of her.
Selena is the biggest female latin artist of all-time, with Shakira. This was the most attended show at the Astrodome, and sadly it was her las performance before getting killed by her own friend.
She was killed about one month after this performance (age 23). She was born in the U.S. and she became famous singing Mexican/Spanish music. She was in the process of recording an album in English when she was killed. Two of her hits in English are I Could Fall In Love and Dreaming of You which she was never able to perform live.
Fun fact: she designed her clothes and the red thing in her microphone was her lipstick💜, when she spun I think the first time one of her earrings and when she noticed she took the other one off she also was born in Texas with Tejeno roots and was pretty successful? in a male dominated profession? If I’m correct its hard to explain it to me and can you react to Techno Cumbia and Baila Esta Cumbia by Selena please.
By the way, not sure if previous comments had mentioned but in the cute song Bidi Bidi Bom Bom, the story is how her heart beats crazy when she sees "him" walking by. It palpitates and is filled with emotion: no longer can it reason instead it sings (beats) like this: B.... B.... B.. and so forth. A very well written well performed song.
This was her last performance at the Houston Astrodome in 1995 to a sold out crowd of more than a 65,000 fans. She was murdered the next month. Her English songs are so beautiful: Dreaming of You and I Could Fall in Love (among some). She has sold out more than 75 million records worldwide. She is still huge in the Latino Community. She was born in Texas. She was 23 when she was murdered. Jennifer Lopez did a movie about her life - check it out: Selena. MAC Cosmetic did two special editions of her makeup last year and they sold out in less than 10 minutes - less than 10 minutes - that's how popular and important she is, still.
She was being in texas her parents are from mexico so she is mexican american but she was loves everywhere she design her outfits and her band mates . She is pure taken her body was natural not plastic she was a designer she had an empire when she died at 23 years of age , she had her music her boutique, her hair salon and make up and was working on getting her brand in big department stores she designed everything from the shoes to the outfit to the belt and belt buckles she was just born talented miss her so much 😢😢😢👑
Selena was a pioneer breaking barriers for other artists that did cross overs in the English market. She was really loved and unfortunately was killed in 1995. However she is a legend that will keep living through her music. Please react to her more.
Just discovered your channel! ❤️ you guys!! .. She’s born & raised in Texas , Tejano Music Queen 👑, before she was tragically killed she was crossing over to English Music Industry.. I saw her in concert several times, always a good show ! Reason why she was so popular she was humble, treated everyone with respect & down to earth. She was one of us and never forgot where she came from, so she grew in popularity very fast. She was Mexican- American, English was her 1st language, later she became fluent in Spanish. But she mostly sang in Spanish, I know crazy huh? She didn’t know Spanish that well but sang mostly in Spanish, but because English was her first language meaning her parents spoke both languages well & she was able to communicate with her parents in English. Hope that helps! Stay blessed guys !!
I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw you were reacting to Selena! Unfortunately this was her last ever performance before she passed! I dont even know where to begin with this icon, she had such a huge impact on my life!! When I was just a young girl, I use to listen to her music and dance around the house and sing at the top of my lungs, I got to be in the Alamodome in San Antonio Texas, as they recreated this iconic concert with Jennifer Lopez Playing Selena for the movie about her life, it was incredible as the place was filled with tons of Selena fans and you could feel the love through the whole place! , she is a legend that will always be remembered!!
Houston Astrodome. SELENA SHE IS THE QUEEN OF TEJANO AND NO ONE EVER GOT CLOSE Broke the record of attendance. she beat ELVIS and michael jackson RECORD Selena was born on April 16, 1971 in Lake Jackson Texas. She was Mexican-American.
First of all "vamanos" means " Let's Go". And yes this was in a place in Houston, Texas called the Astrodome. And yes she was from the US. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. This part of the concert was as great like the rest of the concert where she sang her own songs in English as well as in Spanish. She was versatile. She did not limit herself. That's why she could sing, dance, dressed good and was also in magnificent shape. She won many awards and as you can see for yourself why she was regarded as " The Queen of Tejano Music". She even had a Ladies Fashion Store where a lady who was stealing money from her was caught and chased Selena and shot her in the back and killed her and as far as I know is still in prison for killing Selena Quintanilla. God rest her soul. I am a Tejano, was born in Houston, Texas in 1950 so I not only appreciate good music in English but in Spanish as well and really was something back in the disco days. Anyway I thank the both of you from a little blast from the past. And Adios you two. That means "Goodbye". And also God bless the both of you. Keep up the good work
The LEGEND SELENA 💜 We’ll never have another like her!! She was one of a kind, truly talented and such a beautiful person inside and out! We love you forever Selena 💜

Selena was the biggest Latin performer in the 90s. And she was Mexican American. She mostly sang in Spanish. Before she died she was working on her English album and they did release some of her English songs
She was born about 40 miles south of that stage she's dancing on! That's her home crowd right there. I live in the same town she was born in. Her childhood home is right around the corner from me. She had a Texan accent. This concert was at the Houston Rodeo in the Astrodome. She lived in Corpus Christi Texas along with her family. She's as native Texan as you can get.
Well she IS the Queen of Tejano, a Tex-Mex music genre, born in Lake Jackson, Texas raised in Corpus Christi, Texas... She embraced her Mexican roots and learn to sing in Spanish although her first language is English... She did sold out 93, 94 and 95 concerts in the Houston Rodeo here in Houston Texas at that time the Astrodome with over 65,000 in attendance no other female artist has been able to do what she did... thanks for the reaction hopefully we see more of her in your UA-cam channel...
She’s the original queen ! She’s a true artist! Gone way too soon. She was definitely ahead of her time and her voice has range. That raspiness was due to the genre of music she was signing but you should definitely check out her other music!
So you do know that a large population of Hispanic people were in Texas before it was the USA? Thus, there is a large population of Mexican Americans that have been US citizens longer than the Anglos that settled in Texas. Not sure why people automatically assume a brown person is from another country.
I do actually know all that. But what I was saying is, I don’t want to assume that someone is from America. I have been listening to a lot of artiest in foreign countries that have a lot of pride in where they are from. I don’t automatically want to label someone as an American if they aren’t from America, that is all.
Lol. Spanish is her second language. She learned it for her fans. She's from TX, like myself. We still hold a festival every year for her. Shes perfect. And it's so unfair to Chris and her family and her kids she never got to have that someone took her.
Please react to cumbia medley it’s a compilation of 3/4 of most known Spanish songs from all different live performances you’ll really enjoy it and see why Selena is so beloved even after 25 years after she passed away. Selena was like the female micheal Jackson, (at this astrodome concert she actually broke micheal Jackson record) she started singing at very young age after her dad heard her voice. Because back in the day her dad had musical aspirations and was in a group called “ los Dino’s” but never made it. So after her heard her sing he made his family start a family band called “ Selena y los Dino’s” this became the only way they made money, so she was performing since a child so that’s why even though she was young she was so good/natural on stage. For Spanish people they call her the Spanish Madonna. But not only was she an amazing performer she was completely down to earth and humble and loved her fans so much that’s why she was so loved and still is. You should react to her “ funny/diva moments” to really get a sense of the kind of person she was off stage

@@BeardedReactions Well-intentioned feedback. Selena is a Legend primarily in the Hispanic community although since her untimely death in 1995 her Iconic status grew worldwide. Selena remains a very important and influential Texan and highly revered. She was an extraordinary performer, and she's remembered for her humility and love for her fans. She was also multi-talented ... she designed her attire, including the purple-sequenced suit she wore at the Astrodome performance, as well as her band's attire. I had the fortune ... and sincere Honor ... of watching Selena in two Live performances, the second on February 10, 1995, in McAllen, Texas.

Thank you for your fantastic review of Selena. A lot of what has already been said by other comments would only be repeated myself so I won't try to give academic info about her. Instead, I can give you my own personal reaction to one of her songs which was released and popular after her death in 1995. I had heard the song "Dreaming of You" on the radio several times over a 4 / 5 week period and assumed that it was a new Madonna hit. I thought it was Madonna's voice and sort of akin to her edgy style. Boy, did I ever feel blown away when a friend of mine corrected me one time we heard the song playing and he knew it was Selena not Madonna. Wow, after that I began to take more interest in Selena's music and purchased several of her CD's (which I still own) but unfortunately she was already gone.

Oh no! I am sad!
Passed away is putting it lightly. She was murdered.

React to Selena Quintanilla La Carcacha Astrodome
“Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” first!
(live from astrodome)
Cómo la flor❤️💪🏽
La carcacha Live from México mind blowing 💜
selena is from texas but her family is mexican hence why she broke out into the music scene with tejana music which is loved by mexicans. she was murdered by a close friend/leader of her fan club shortly after this performance cutting her career which was getting more successful by the day short. it’s a tragedy since now we never know just how much more huge her music could’ve been. however now her impact is huge and she is known by not only the spanish speaking crowd but also americans.
Wow! She was murdered?!? That is insane and tragic. She was so amazing and we have missed out on an amazing career!
@@BeardedReactions She was on the verge to becoming the biggest superstar in the world.
moonlight also she is loved worldwide💖not only Mexicans
Anthony C. yes i thought i mentioned that. must’ve slipped
SELENA IS KNOWN TO MILLIONS AROUND THE WORLD. I must belong to at least 10 of her fan sites but there are thousands. 😊
The problem would be I can put it on UA-cam, so I'll have to post it to an differ site and put a link to it on here!
Selena was born in Lake Jackson, TX and is a South Texas icon who became a legend.
Selena is from Corpus Christi Texas. She is from Texas and is Mexican American just FYI. She was an amazing artist.
Thank you for clearing that up! I just don't like to assume is all!
Bearded Reactions Not a problem buddy
Selena is the biggest female latin artist of all-time, with Shakira. This was the most attended show at the Astrodome, and sadly it was her las performance before getting killed by her own friend.
She was killed about one month after this performance (age 23). She was born in the U.S. and she became famous singing Mexican/Spanish music. She was in the process of recording an album in English when she was killed. Two of her hits in English are I Could Fall In Love and Dreaming of You which she was never able to perform live.
She was born in Texas and her first language was English.
Ok! Thank you for letting us know! I just don't like to assume where someone is from.
An amazing woman with an Amazing soul, proud Mexican-American!! She's a LEGEND!! Til this day famous artists still perform her songs!! ❤❤
Yes!
React to Selena Quintanilla Bidi Bidi Bom Bom Astrodome
Listen to Captive Heart from her English album to hear her vocal range.
Shes the Queen of Tejano music.
Selena was a Mexican Texas girl💜🌹
Ok! Thank you!
She’s from Texas and grew up speaking English. She didn’t know Spanish. She had to learn it to sing in it
“You were alive?” Lmfaoo
Queen level. Selena for life. And Bailar means Dance.
Wow! Thank you so much for the background. I hate that she was taken from us prematurely and I cannot wait to hear more!
@@BeardedReactions React to Selena, La Carcacha from the same performance. She was amazing ua-cam.com/video/mOpZylrrymM/v-deo.html
@@BeardedReactions this was not her last performance. She did plenty of other shows after this

And also.. missing my baby by Selena Quintanilla 💗I love that song .. I bet you guys are going to like it !
Ok! I am ready to see more!
Selena was a pioneer breaking barriers for other artists that did cross overs in the English market. She was really loved and unfortunately was killed in 1995. However she is a legend that will keep living through her music. Please react to her more.
Planning on it;
Just discovered your channel!
Welcome to the channel! We have done some more of her too! We love her!
Texas made 💯 she is so LOVED here in Texas. Her music lives on forever!!! She is missed so very much in the Mexican-American community 😢
I bet that was an epic experience! I hate that she was taken too early, but I cannot wait to be introduced to her music!
Big concert yes her last one but she still had 2more . One in Miami and the other one in Chicago
I love my queen selena forever 🌹
Shes the queen of Tejano Music .!!! long live our Mexican Queen!
Selena quintanilla la mujer más bella del mundo y en todo sentido 😍 ❤️
Keep up the good work
Thank you Marcus! There will be more Selena to come! -- Mama
The LEGEND SELENA 💜 We’ll never have another like her!! She was one of a kind, truly talented and such a beautiful person inside and out! We love you forever Selena 💜
Yes! I did another one today! She is amazing!
First time on ur channel really enjoyed ur video,
Seems ur mom was remembering the disco days just like me,,,
Nice to see mom and son reacting to video's,,keep up the great work,,,
Stay safe everyone,,
Thank you so much 🙂--mama
She designed the outfit she's wearing , and mostly everything she performed in during her career .
That is awesome!
Your mom was right since the beginning she got an American accent because she was second generation Mexican American, I love your mom such a lovely lady and is dope you manage your mom's channel!
It is "our" channel now but he started it! I am just doing a little more since he was in the last of law school and now studying for the bar exam (which is in a little over a week from now!"
You're mom is awesome and wise. She is focused on the music the entire time.
She really is, I agree!
Selena was the biggest Latin performer in the 90s. And she was Mexican American. She mostly sang in Spanish. Before she died she was working on her English album and they did release some of her English songs
That is so sad she was taken from us! She was amazing!
Omg as a kid I always sang “Taco Bell” lmfao I died when you said that!!!! 🤣
Hahaha!
Selena was born in Texas, learned Spanish later in life and really embraced her Mexican culture :) She's an icon!!!
Selena forever 😍😍
She is amazing!
P.S your mom is right the Astrodome was used for evacuees for the Hurricane Katrina from Louisiana, the astrodome was no longer used for events...
Good to know! And yes, we plan on doing a lot more!
That girl was a force ❤️
Yes she was! She was a born performer!
I am excited to get to experience her! She seems amazing and it is a tragedy that she was taken from us to early!
I hope he reacts to all the performances individually as well.
king fangs oh ya of course I just feel that disco and cumbia medley are great introduction to showcase how good Selena was, for people just discovering her/ new to her music. Then usually they get hooked and want to watch the individual concerts😅
Ok love you both.
Quintanilla = keen-THA-knee-Ya
She's from Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was 23 and her family is part of the band.
Mundo does mean world
Dance is Bailar in Spanish.
Sala is slang for living room
This performance was held at the Houston Astrodome.
Y'all are so much fun to watch!
She was a Tejano woman from Texas, she learned Spanish as a second languaje.
I really love you both, especially your mom she's so cute. I've been subscribed to this channel for a while thanks to your Little mix reactions and now you're reacting to my queen Selena, I wish I could re-subscribe now lol. I usually don't comment, but I needed to express my happiness lol. React to her Funny diva moments, cumbia medley, and anything you want really. She's awesome. ****I am editing to say that she is 100 times better live.***
Ok! Thank you so much Lizz! I appreciate this comment and it made me smile! I plan on doing more for sure because she is amazing!
We love her in Mexico, thank you for reacting to her guys. Stay safe...sending love from Mexico 🇲🇽
This is so lovely. She was and still is a legend for Latinos. Incredibly talented. Enjoy !
She is so amazing!
I understand you're wanting to offer an organic and genuine reaction, however, it would behoove you to know some general background of whomever you're reacting to to allow for an interesting and thoughtful commentary. I'd venture to say knowing the artists' background would allow your viewers to connect with you on a higher level, and would add value to your critique. Godspeed.
tcrane68 💯💯💯
I appreciate the advice! 😀
I had the fortune ... and sincere Honor ... of watching Selena in two Live performances, the second on February 10, 1995, in McAllen, Texas.
tcrane68 That is so awesome. How was that concert. I’m from Edinburg Texas and I didn’t get to go. Was it when she performed at the Villarreal in that beautiful green jump suit. Thx.
@@RubenNurse Yes. She had a wardrobe malfunction ... she walked offstage backwards with a hand over her bootie. LOL! I'm originally from Mercedes. The first live performance was either late 80s/early 90s at the Mercedes Livestock Show grounds. All my best, Ruben!
What can I say about SELENA, Beautiful, Beautiful for ever. SELENA our Queen forever. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
“Todos de pie vamonos” translates to “Everyone on their feet, let’s go” basically telling the audience to get up.
Ok!
Thank you so much for this!
Selena
“Bidi Bidi Bom Bom”
“Baila Esta Cumbia”

Thank you for these!
