You have to take into account that his father is a HOFer. MHJ and The CW could be legendary together 15 years from now. He sees from that perspective.
Well, 6-7 years. Receivers start to peter out after 6-7 years. The best ones are top quality till about 29-30 then it’s sharply downhill quick.
Chicago is a popular destination wish for top prospects because it's in the most optimistic position of teams drafting in the top 15 right now. It also offers the opportunities of a big market city that is described as football first. The salary cap limits how much a NFL team can and will pay you to play football. However if you're a star player on a team that is winning division titles, going to the playoffs every year and winning a super bowl or two the endorsement possibilities are tremendous compared to doing that in Arizona, Denver, or even Washington DC. Whoever the players are who eventually turn around this franchise will own this town. I honestly think I would tear up, even cry if I ran into one of the 2016 cubbies. And I'm a 45 year old man.

This kid is the most NFL ready wideout coming out of college since Megatron so if a deal can be done for a second round pick next year with the Chargers you have to do it. I do like Nabers and Odunze and I would take either at #9 but MHJ is on another level and is the best player in the whole draft
I’m not for it. Caleb doesn’t need MHJ to be successful. I want Poles to keep doing what he’s doing. He’s nice and easy building an above avg sustainable long term roster. Keep next years 2nd rounder and keep plugging away with solid core picks. Not only that, but in 4 years MHJ will probably be fetching insane money for his 2nd contract which then puts a hole in your sustainable long term plan. Cuz there’s no way you’d be able to let him go… then you become unbalanced along the rest of the roster.

Nick wright has the bears trading up from 9 to draft Marvin Harrison Jr. Using next year's 2 nd round Carolina pick .I believe he said Best Wide receiver trio in the NFL .
With the receivers talent in the draft I'm not sure why they'd pull the trigger on a trade up for Harrison. J. McMillian, T. Franklin and multiple other would be outstanding picks later in the draft.

I know everyone's creaming their jeans over this years QB crop that I personally think ain't shit, but if the Bears were to not even bother trading the pick and take MH number one, nobody can criticize them. That dude is Jerry Rice 2.0 this years WR draft as a whole is among the best I've ever seen. I wish GB needed one but we already got six good ones. What GB needs is O-linemen and another dominant safety and FOR SURE a kicker.
Trading up for MHJ by sacrificing only Carolina's 25 2 would be a dream scenario, IMO. That said, with DJM and Keenan on board, DE is a MUCH bigger need than WR is. BPA in all scenarios. But that doesn't necessarily mean trade up to fill a non-need. (And I know WR3 is a need; but starting DE is a bigger need than WR3.)
Rich Hill chart says that going up from 9 to 5 should cost 81 points. The value of a future 2nd (their own) is 79 points. Throw in a 5th for the premium to move up, and it's a fair deal.
First of all, MHJ father made a lot of money during his career. I don't think he's thirsty for money. Secondly, I would 100% trade #9 this year and our 1st next year to get up to #5 for MHJ. That is easily a no-brainer. Especially because that Panthers 2nd next year will still be like pick 33. Hopefully, we are in the playoffs next year, which would mean our first wouldn't be too far away from that Panthers 2nd. You might want to rethink that Harrision. Swing for the fences, my friend.

I don't think that Marvin is tanking. If he has a bad day in the combines etc. his stock may tank and if he has a good day, his stock really won't go up much (if at all). I don't think him not showing up will hurt him that much given his college career.

Just because everyone else thinks Caleb Williams is going #1. It doesn't mean Marvin Harrison Jr. isn't vying to be picked #1. He's probably the best player in the draft, so of course he's going to say he wants to go to the Bears.
People have to understand is the 4 draft picks we have, is only because we used our other draft picks on proven players in free agency, so by saying well we only have 4 picks, no we had more but traded them away so if they stay with 4 picks that’s fine…..Picks are lottery tickets, the average is that draft picks only happen about 35% of the time getting good players, so I’m glad we used our other picks for proven good players already…..

There ain't no way Poles is trading UP for a reciever, no way. I highly doubt he's taking one at #9 either, wr class is way too deep to waste a top ten pick on a reciever with so many other glaring needs like edge or 3 tech or offensive line position's that they value...and need!
Everyone thought Caleb Williams was going to try to force a trade to a preferred team. MHJ is one of the few players who can realistically do just that. Like Eli, his family has money. He's not trying to buy his parents a house or help siblings with college. He doesn't need to support a young family playing football. If he tells a team, or teams do not draft me, I will not sign and I will reenter the draft next year, the threat has to be taken more seriously than if he were a poor kid from the inner city.
