Shit when that blue light hits him and the vapor is just rising off his body. Looks straight out of hell or from the dead. Especially with the death mask.
He blew his voice out with terrible technique on the early records. Even in these old performances he would try to recreate the damaging screams on the road and he would fuck up his voice even more
Every time I hear this song it gets more and more personal. I suppose kinda same stuff applies to all the performers, so the go off nuts at the end of you can say so.
He is. at the times Vol 3 Came Out Corey and the band are on their lowest point in lives and most of them are fighting their Drug and Alcohol addiction. and also Corey blow his vocal cord after Iowa so yeah he was indeed tired and depressed

The death mask was a big deal back then, at this time Cory and Jim where the only ones we knew what they looked like no one else showed their face this was as close to us seeing what they looked like .

they are wearing masks, they’re referred to as death masks which are clear plastic masks of their faces that they wore on this tour while performing this song with black makeup on underneath
What I love about this song so much is it gives all members of the band an opportunity to go off the script and do a lot of what they love.
I think it’s cool to actually see the air coming out of Corey’s mouth while he’s singing

Oh My God! The screams......... I could watch this forever, better than original
Why do they not wear the death masks anymore there so cool
Death masks? And they still wear masks they never stopped
They probably don’t have them anymore or maybe it was exclusive to the vol.3 era

Well he’s misusing his voice and during Vol 3 he was also in withdrawals from quitting drinking. So yeah. Probably pretty tired.
I hope they bring back the death masks someday

Do they ever play Vermilion 1 and 2 back to back live? You’d think that they’d play them both since they essentially one song.
I don't think they've ever played part 2 live

I think it's just in this song, like the official video, that they use masks shaped like their own faces or just paint.
It was really only with this song. Otherwise they had masks on throughout at Rock am Ring 2015.
