went to York for my honeymoon partly because of the history partly because of the spookiness :) my hubby hadn't been before and I had only been when I was about 6 so I have vague memories of it , which were refreshed on our first day there as we went to Betty's tea room and had a memory flash in to my head of me and my mum going there for tea. It was nice to remember it but also sad as my mum passed 20 years ago and I still miss her. so got a bit emotional as we left. But went on 2 ghost walks one of which included the Golden Fleece. stayed at the premiere inn that to my knowledge wasn't haunted but the pub next to it was also had a convent over the road that had a grisly hand relic, and a but along from that was Micklegate bar where criminals had their heads displayed on pikes 😱😵😬👻
Hi, I absolutely love York it is so full of history! I'm sorry to hear about your mum, what a lovely memory to have (if somewhat bittersweet). I haven't been to Betty's yet (the queue always puts me off haha) maybe one day. Yes, the hand I believe is of Margaret Clitheroe who was executed on the bridge nearby - I covered it in my Guy Fawkes video if you're interested in that sort of thing it's on the main channel page somewhere. Have a lovey day and thanks for watching and commenting x
Should, hopefully, be moving to the city in a few years. Half of my family moved from Sheffield to York 20 years ago. I've visited a couple of times. Feels like my kind of place. The pubs look lovely & I love ghost stories. Thank you for sharing this 🙂
Yes...I made 2 that day - and haven't filmed since (with what happened 😬) but I'll be back on track again and filming new content soon 😀 Thanks again for your support
I spent a week there once, and had dinner at the Fleece at least three times. I didn't see any ghosts, but one of the ladies working there had an experience. I believe the story about the Roman soldiers took place at the Treasurer's House. I love York, and would really like to return some day.
Lot of pubs but Guy Fawkes come to my mind only. The pubs are haunted by apparition, women ,men,or children,it sounds horrible. The old history makes you to think more ,which will make ones mind uneasy, the woman, apparition wearing black clothes and dogs wandering were Black colored makes me weird and outlandish,by and large it's beautiful video
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting - yes they are both excellent suggestions! The York Castle museum I'm told do a good event on Halloween - I imagine it's quite spooky in there at night 👻
