This is an incredible collection of gems here. Wow! Wow! Thanks for your hard work of putting this together. I absolutely love the jazzy era of the dead in the early 70s. But they did it from time to time throughout the years. It's brilliance at work. They had a chemistry together that was other worldly. 🪐💀⚘️🫧😎 Thanks again. I will be listening to this for a while.

And yeah, then I got into adding little video effects for when I put them on my TV lol. "Let It Grow Horns" turned out not to be the undiscovered Hunter/Garcia gem that I'd expected (!). These SYF curations are all magic. I'll return to them many times. Thank you so much!
hey DJ -- over the past two weeks, actually two or three months, i've been traveling about the world. don't want to make you jealous. I'm More telling you for context. Anyway, these mixes have been a fun concept to think about...what would Jerry have thought of this work? Phil, too, being how annoying he's been about vault releases...For the sake of the community, this adds so much understated depth to the Band's immense discography. As here we consider live songs to be worth as much of their studio work. These "tapes" are so cool. the only problem is that you release so many of these that it's sometimes hard to pick where to start 😅 May just be my lack of attention, but i listen to the dead everyday (and throughout my travels)...and if possible, maybe hour long compilations could be of more interest to more people? While i have endless amounts of time at my disposal, it's like reading a book, i take my time but when i'm in the zone i'll go for 30min 1hr locked in...just my two cents!!! again, amazing job and truly thank you for your service to the community. Hey Nicholas! Thanks for the feedback, the Save Your Face mixes are all compiled by John and I upload them as he made them - some of them are under an hour, some three hours or longer. Based just on view counts, it usually seems like the longer ones tend to be more popular. Anyway if you're interested in the thinking/philosophy behind John's picks and edits, I'd definitely suggest checking out his Save Your Face blog, you can find a link in the description. Have a good one! ✌

If you click the link in the description and check out his post for that mix, he usually (though not always) includes the artwork attribution too. Part of my reason for posting his stuff here is to help more people discover his blog, so I like to leave some details out so they have to click thru lol.
Main Ten was the original name for Playing in the Band, referred to as such because of its 10 beat time signature, much like how the Eleven has an 11 beat signature
