Thanks heaps for posting this, now al I haveto find is Macca singing "we the people" and I can die in peace. This was the fisrt Aussie Country song to be given the treatrment and it works.
I'm no local but having lived in Dirranbandi for a couple of years i can vouch it's not Der-run-bandi - every version has it much the same - but instead a harsher enphasis is required on the first syllable ie DIR-ran-bandi. i like Dave Gleeson's take on the song otherwise, and the band really gets it swinging. and while I'm here a big shout out to the Weatherall family!

Slim actually loved this version, and praised the band for it. It’s from a Slim Dusty tribute album that came out in the late 90’s.
