Tarkov is for people who want the more realistic feel and hardcore mechanics, and Hunt covers the more casual audience that wants to focus on the gameplay more than the fighting. I'm always welcoming more titles to the genre, even if they fail it still pushes the existing ones to improve or face the same possibility.

It wasn't perfect, but it had something that the rest of the "extraction shooters" didn't have that made it feel different. I still think about The Cycle often, it's such a shame they shut it down 😕

What this means can be interpreted in many ways but I think it lacked helldivers spices such as stratagems, backpacks, armors and that may be why it wasn't as fun as they had hoped.
The Finals is the most impressive new game IMO but wasn’t enough to pull me away from Apex. This looks pretty cool and different from anything I have personally played
What is interesting to me about people saying "Oh not another one" is that there really aren't that many in comparison to all the other games in the fps/tps genre. PvPvE extraction is still a burgeoning genre and deserves more exploration by more devs with experience and integrity.
And there’s still marathon coming out next year from Bungie, we’re gonna be flooded with great PVPVE extraction shooters come this time next year. Which some people hate but personally I haven’t found an extraction shooter I like yet so I’m very excited.
The finals is the best game out in a time of terrible unfinished messes and remasters. Its a shining beacon of hope for all gamers and deserves way more love from the gaming community
I was definitely more excited when the game was initially supposed to be a PVE only type of game similar to a Destiny format. However, still gonna try this out after playing The Finals
I got selected for the play test! I can’t share anything but so far I really like it! Wasn’t a big fan of the finals at all but I believe this is going to be a really popular game when it fully releases!
The best PVPVE Extraction shooter ever was the first one (AFAIK) to ever do it - and that's Division 1 Dark Zone. How the Division team has never managed to fine tune their focus on that mode - despite the OBVIOUS desire for it (see: The Day Before) - blows my mind. I thought the standalone Heartland would be a callback to the feel we got from the original DZ, and it got cancelled. I swear I don't know how these decisions get made. The Day Before was at one point the BIGGEST wishlisted game, and the teaser was basically Dark Zone on crack with some Last of Us influence.... and Ubisoft CANCELS Heartland. Jesus, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE That said - I've had my eyes on Arc Raiders for a while. I sure hope it turns out to be something special.
You're literally the only person I ever seen bring up what all extraction shooters should be like or at least strive for in my opinion. The Division 1 dark zone was SO GOOD, the best part about how they did extraction was if you died you had a chance to go back and reclaim your loot because you stayed in the same server unlike other games when you have to go back to the main menu or hub. I think if this game can replicate just that one feature it will succeed where no one has in this genre since the dark zone. Basically I hope this game is a bigger dark zone if we get that I'd be the happiest guy alive!
this game looks so fun an exciting I just hope its not filled with cheaters.. unfortunately theyre everywhere now in shooter games! I play THE FINALS daily and honestly one of my all time favorite shooters..the devs truly care about what the put out and give their audience! I wish nothing but amazing success for this game
I think finals and arc raiders are developed by different parts of embark team. Thos games were developed pretty much in parralel, so they most probably wont have much in common.
This is one of those games I have had an eye on - it seems it would scratch an itch. I tried it with The Cycle Frontier - which I kinda really loved. But it got shut down sadly so I've been looking for something similar.

Everybody I play with is just waiting for an extraction shooter that feels really good to play, has decent graphics, and offers more fun than sitting and holding angles because you heard a footstep. Tarkov is a test of your patience and specific game knowledge. Dark and Darker is kinda fun, but it didn't feel very rewarding, it's kinda slow/clunky, and it doesn't look good. Others feel like the antithesis to Tarkov, where everything feels TOO videogame-y and cartoonish, and they don't provide the thrill of danger. The Forever Winter looks like a game of cat & mouse, but you're the mouse, and you stand little chance against enemies, so you have to play like a rat and hope you don't engage in combat (I haven't played it, but this is my impression after watching plenty of gameplay videos from content creators.) Extraction is the new king. It just needs to be done well. Dmz almost got there on the masses side. It needs a healthy player base and it needs longevity. Solve those 2 problems and youve got the next fortnite
I was really excited for this games, a coop pve game. but then it changed to a over saturated extraction shooter. there's a reason so many fail, its overused in a market that doesn't want it. the cycle was a great example of that. we need more coop open world pve games and is so disappointed that this game switched genres and i am calling it now, will fail and shutdown before the year is out
How is the market over-saturated? I can think of a few games that are extraction shooters, true, but not nearly at over-saturation levels compared to other genres.
@@MechaMan2012 not as over saturated as br or mobas in the past but there's more then enough options at the moment that a new one doesn't make much sense. I could be wrong but I don't think Arc Raiders will do either.
@@passiveh2066 I wholeheartedly disagree with the over-saturation sentiment, but to each their own. I like Embark, fellow Swedes, and I do know they got a bunch of good Bungie devs as well, so looking forward to this
I hope it's as fast and chaotic as the Finals, please let us destroy buildings
We already know we can take down the massive spider robots, I want them to fall down and break everything around them
I thought this game is never out good to know it’s still at work
Project Ethos looks like a good PvPvE extraction shooter
Let me guess he compared this game to apex like every other new game he plays …..
I’m hyped for this game, but I disagree about DMZ, it was a spectacular game.
In terms of PvE games you could do a lot worse than CoD Ghosts Extinction. It was such an overlooked game.
All these dev companies made up of senior devs from bigger companies haven't made anything at all, except these guys!
hey, its the Destiny/warframe of this generation... both games that released with the same premise at the same time, only that this time its Forever Winter
Helldiver is still a great PvE extraction shooter my favorite by far
Extraction is the new king. It just needs to be done well. Dmz almost got there on the masses side. It needs a healthy player base and it needs longevity. Solve those 2 problems and youve got the next fortnite
Odd that people don’t like extraction shooters? Id say hunt showdown is pretty good, me and my friends frequently play the game and its actually good.
Same as releasing a new hero shooter, there's too many, so unless it's ground breaking and really shakes up the formula it doesn't have a chance. I could be wrong but I don't think Arc Raiders will do either.
@@passiveh2066 I wholeheartedly disagree with the over-saturation sentiment, but to each their own. No idea if Arc Raiders will be good and survive, but, personally, I've felt like there haven't really been any extraction shooters that interested me and feel it's an untapped market, relatively speaking. We shall have to wait and see.
If you haven't try hunt showdown. If you like pvpve then that's a great go to.
Tarkov is a fantastic game and I have over 4000 hours on the game so can’t say shiz about that game to me, other players have like 15k hours +
Love me some finals cant wait to try this
great games
Hunt showdown is a great pvpevp extraction shooter, maurders is good just needs content, and tarkov was good until it wasnt. But hunst showdown is absolutely goated
Im bout to play it for the first time, lets see if this holds up.
Can’t wait for games like this to be web3 now that I have experienced it I can’t play anything else. Why grind on a game for things I can’t own. Web3 gaming is the future. Web2 games are gonna be for kids that don’t have to the about investments or financials.
There is a good pvp/pve extraction shooter, it's called Hunt Showdown
those guys need to do the next true battlefield
basis of video, tell me you weren't in the first playtest w/out telling me you weren't in the first playtest. (You missed out - not hating on you).
So, basically it's The Division Dark Zone
Still disappointed the game was changed to a pvpve game. Looked cool when it was first revealed though.
i think its kinda like Generation Zero and GZ was AWESOME!
i cant understand why they would choose to split thier attention like this.
Hunt showdown is not too bad
I am in the playtest, I can say that its great I think.
Eh, remove the second “P” in PvPvE, then I’m in. I get that there’s a market for it but why is it impossible for them to give the option to just turn it off.
Hunt showdown is a great PvPvE extraction shooter.
There in fact, no link in the description
2:33 Have you ever played Hunt Showdown ?
hunt showdown is the best extraction game for now
Hunt: Showdown is a pretty fun pvpve extraction, but I still think it has its flaws
The Finals is 🔥 and the biggest disappointment only because i couldn't get any of my friends to play it long term.
You clearly didn’t play the division at launch, the developers killed the game unfortunately! But similar to apex it had so much potential that was killed by corporate greed!
