You can add as many images as you need. Did something in the video come across as, you can't add images? We add many images in the video to create the design.

Child themes are still needed in 2023, to avoid losing customizations after wp theme updates?
It's really not needed. If you need to add any custom code, you can better do that with a code snippets plugin.
