@ 0:30 No way!!! Our house used to be here at this very spot. (more than 50 years ago) I still recognize the brick wall/fence and the white square stone blocks. That was our front garden. The house itself seems to be a ruin taken over by nature. I remember the beautiful view of the sea from our living room. We could always see the sunset in our back garden.
I also remember being direct neighbors with Tubman's mansion. We moved back to The Netherlands in 1973 when I was 7 years old. Very surreal seeing this after 50 years.

Wow, so much has changed. My neighborhood, Middlesex to Airfield Junction, is completely different. There are many shacks along the road. Watching your videos makes me feel nostalgic. Thanks for sharing.

As a Peace Corps Volunteer, many many years ago (March 1968; yes, March 1968), I was briefly assigned to teach at the Bonike (how we spelled it) school for a few weeks. The missionaries there were a husband and wife, Reverend and Mrs. Shipley. They could not muster enough students to justify a Peace Corps Volunteer, and after about 3 weeks, I was transferred “up the road” to Manolu, which had a larger student population. At that time, we had 18 PCVs in Maryland County, which at that time was a “fly-in” location (the road north had not been completed, although in April of that year several of us took a money bus as far as we good go, hiked through the yet-undeveloped portion, and emerged on the other side, where we were able to find a money bus that took us further, eventually to Tchien). There was 1 PCV in Cavalla, 9 in Harper, 3 in Pleebo, 2 in Tugbake, 1 in Manolu (me): 1 in Karlokeh, and 1 in Webbo (Nyaake).

Wow....I am so moved by your comment and how well you remember your time of service to Liberia. I grew up in Harper and left during the civil war. This was my first trip back after 27 years and I'm glad to have captured those moments. I thank you so much watching and do have a blessed day.

This video reminds me of my days in Maryland county. I attended Fatima Elementary school while living with my parents in Harper city, After 2003 Modell War, things went side ways. I find myself living with my Aunty in pleebo city where l completed High school St.Francis High right
to Catholic mansion. Later Move to Monrovia to build a life but as God always looking out for his children, I'm now telling a story from another side of the world.
Thanks for the Video and it just reset my memory.😎@LiberiaTheLandofTheFree.

Many thanks for this video. My senses and memory lit up. I attended Tubman University and left in 1982. You brought back all of my good memories. I am from Gbarnga, but I love Harper. I currently live in Phoenix Arizona in the US. Hopefully, I will go back to Maryland before I die. I felt in love with the people and the land.

Harper looks really nice. But just like Robertsport and Greenville it's remote relative to the rest of the country. Liberia needs a single highway to connect its coastal cities.

We the diasporan will come back to modernized Harper City but keep it green. Liberia should be respected in all of Africa. It should be beacon of hope for other African countries to respect of human rights, freedom or how to govern. But here we are
