Always open a skill point chest in soul splitter mode. You will get 3 skill points instead of one.

Can someone explain to me the amount of skill points in this game? Am I understanding this correctly
You get 29 from leveling up to Level 30.
You get 5 from trading relics (10 in both playthroughs)
You get 5 from certain quests (10 in both playthroughs)
You get how many from the skill point chests?
From what I've read, there are 12 skill point chests that give 1 skill point, unless you open them while using Soul Splitter, in which case they give you 3 each, and 2 out of 12 chests actually require that you use the Soul Splitter which means you csn't help but get 3 from these two (so 16 minimum from all skill point chests, 36 if you open them ALL with Soul Splitter).
Did I understand it correctly? Also, which 5 quests give you skill points exactly? Are they primary quests or secondary quests or what? Are they missable? Are the relic skill points missable?
    Putting all of this yogether
    29 SPs from leveling up
    10 from relics
    10 from quests
72 from skill point chests (if u open all 12 chests in both playthroughs with soul splitter)
    That's 121 total
Also, what happens if u buy Respec at max skill points (121 I guess)?
    Did I get anything wrong?
    Playing on Deathinitive Edition PS4.

It's been a while and I don't know if the PS4 version is the same as PC. I assume it is.
You've pretty much got everything right. If you respec, it gives you back all the skill points you earned, including the extra from the Soul Splitter exploit. I honestly don't remember which quests give you skill points. I think they were all side quests.

Are you sure it gives you back all 121 skill points when you respec? I don't remember where, but I think I read that the game wont actually let you hold more than 99 skill points as it's the cap (but that it's not a problem since 99 is all you need to buy everything). Did you test it yourself and saw 121 skill points on the Skills tab?
Oh and thanks for the response!

@@babbisp1 You won't have to respec if you exploit with Soul Splitter since you'll have enough points to unlock every skill.
I've never heard of a 99 cap. I avoided using exploits back when I played so it's likely I never got enough SP to hit the cap.

Wanna hear something trivial? Ever since you told me there are two SP chests that can't be obtained without Soul Splitter, I got stubborn and tried harder than I care to admit to achieve just that, but I took it further to see what other SP chests can be obtained prematurely without the necessary abilities (e.g. without the Voidwalker).
CONFIRMED: The ones in the Weeping Craig, the Spine, and the Maw can all be obtained without the Voidwalker (though you still have to use Soul Splitter for the one in the Maw).
And the chest in the Nook where you'd normally use Soul Splitter can be done without it. To be honest I don't know how I managed that, because I tried replicating it to no avail. Sure enough, it only gave 1 Skill Point since I opened it without Soul Splitter.
Let me know if you can see this because comments with Iinks often get deleted
Here is proof of what I said in an unlisted playlist, in case you're bored :)

    Hello!
First of all, I’d like to thank you for the videos-they’ve been a huge help. You mentioned that it’s possible to get 3 skill points from certain chests and by doing specific things, and that intrigued me. Could you explain how that works? I’m a beginner and not very familiar with the game mechanics yet.
Also, could you recommend a reliable playlist for 100% completion of Darksiders 2? I’m looking for something that includes all the chests, secret or not. If that’s not possible, at least something that gets as close to a perfect run as possible would be amazing. Your guidance here would be really valuable to me.
Oh, and if you could share some tips on builds, that would be great too! Something that thoroughly explains how the game’s builds work and how to make the most out of them. In short, I’m looking for a complete guide-like a “110%” of the game (haha).
    Thanks in advance!

It's been a long time since I played Darksiders so I won't be able to give you any in-depth advice unfortunately. You'll have to tinker with it.
Best advice I can give you if you want the best of the best; play Necromancer and get as much INT on gear as possible but not before you reach 100% Arcane Critical Chance. Lower quality gear gives you more INT. I remember specifically looking for purple & blue quality. Green gave the highest INT because it's the lowest quality drop you can get but purple gave you more stats (3 if I remember right). Blue gear is perfect because it has 2 stats and you can get INT with Arcane Critical Damage which will give you the highest damage output.
I was min-maxed so much that the game became a complete joke. The Crucible would frequently get bugged and wouldn't progress because I was killing things too fast. I would have to stand still for a few seconds before engaging just to prevent the bug from happening. Usually happened on boss rounds.
Also INT & STR increase damage multiplicatively. That means, the more you have, the more effective each point of that stat is. If you're at 500 INT and you add only 1 INT, it will increase your damage significantly more than if you were at 50 INT and added 1. This is something you'll have to consider at late game if you want to min-max because an item that increases your INT by 15 will be more effective than something that gives you both INT and Arcane Critical Damage.

@@AlienFreak69 Could you clarify what INT and STR mean?

    • @AlienFreak69
      @AlienFreak69  2 місяці тому +1

@@the_gh0st988 INT = Intelligence. It increases all Arcane damage so it's especially needed for Necromancer build. STR = Strength. Increases physical damage. Anything melee basically. You can use **some** STR on Necromancer as it improves Wrath leech since leech is affected by physical damage but you don't have to worry about that. I had a scythe with STR+INT+Wrath leech+Arcane Critical Damage and it allowed me to spam more thanks to STR increasing my Wrath leech. Just think of STR as the stat that's only good for Harbinger and INT only good for Necromancer.

@@AlienFreak69 Sorry for being so repetitive with my questions and for insisting, but regarding the armor, do you have any tips? Is there a complete armor set, or will I need to search for pieces individually, like with the weapons? Also, could you mention the ideal stats for a perfect primary and secondary weapon? For example, if I want to create a magic-focused build, what are the essential stats (for both armor and weapons)?
Lastly, could you share some tips that might help me find perfect stats for armor and weapons? For example, how can I get armor with the best stats (same goes for weapons)? At what point in the game should I really start worrying about my build? I’d also like to know about the levels of cursed weapons and any glitches that might help me-especially which ones still work, as I’m playing the new version on the PS5.
Oh, and please try not to use abbreviations. I don’t quite understand them... I’m not very 'Americanized,' haha. And of course, you’re not expected to know everything! I just want your help, and whatever you can tell me will be super helpful and well-used.

@@the_gh0st988 Start being picky with the stats on your gear somewhere between level 15 to 20. That's when they'll start to become very effective. It's also when you start receiving weapon drops with Wrath leech. For Necromancer, you need Wrath leech and as much as possible. It only comes on weapons.
There is no set to aim for. There are pieces with certain names that I think had higher stats. Juggernaut gear pieces had high Strength. I don't remember what the Arcane variant was called.
The DLC areas dropped the highest stat gear but farming there isn't great due to the low drop rate. The easiest way to get gear is to check merchants that sell equipment. The merchants restock their equipment every time you level up and when you load your save file. My strategy was to save the game before talking to the merchants, then check what they're selling and if they didn't have the item I wanted, I would exit to the main menu and reload my save. It's important not to save the game when you exit to main menu or the merchant wont update his inventory. Only save if you bought something you wanted.
For weapons, just farm The Crucible. The higher the wave you complete, the higher level drop you'll receive. If you can farm the last boss in The Crucible, it's a great way to get Possessed weapons quickly. Look for a scythe with the highest damage. Also never buy scythes from merchants unless they have Wrath leech and you still need one with it. Otherwise only use merchants for armor. That's because once you buy an item and save the game, the merchants will not restock again until you level up or a certain time period has passed in game. Armor is a lot more difficult to find perfect. I don't remember how much time has to pass for merchants to restock. If I were to guess, I would say 15min but it could be longer.
